Deeply concerned about the treatment of the birds and other animals at Redlands Koi & Gardens. During my visit, I observed multiple exotic birds being kept in conditions that appeared unsanitary and harmful to their health. Some food dishes were dirty and even had feces inside, many cages appeared to have little to no food available, and I witnessed birds trying to eat from empty bowls. I also observed dirty water feeders, including some with algae buildup, and in some cages there did not appear to be fresh water available. The birds also seemed to be fed mainly only black sunflower seeds, which is not an appropriate primary diet for parrots and similar birds. Birds are highly intelligent animals and need stimulation, toys, and proper daily care. I did not see toys or enrichment tools in the cages. It is even more troubling that this property operates as a wedding and event venue. Loud music, nighttime events, and constant disruption are not an appropriate environment for animals, especially sensitive exotic birds. I hope the owners do the right thing and hire a qualified professional to properly care for these birds. There have also been concerns raised about the treatment of birds at this property going back to 2023. A macaw that was reportedly showing signs of severe stress, where he plucked all his feathers out. That bird is no longer there, which adds to the concern about the overall welfare of the exotic birds kept on site. (Plumage destructive behavior; which stemmed from boredom, stress, improper diet, and/or illness.) read more

Amazing little retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Went to support a friend leading a meditation event. The surroundings for such events are beautiful and I had an amazing experience and enjoyed seeing the beautiful Koi's. So nice that dogs are welcome too, just couldn't give it the 5 stars based on seeing some of the poor parrots imprisoned in cages way too small with no stimulation which has caused them to start plucking themselves. Those big Macaw's definitely deserve to be in a space big enough to fly or the cages would be better used for smaller birds if any. Unfortunately seeing those birds in cages takes away from what could have been an amazing experience. read more

The outdoor space is very spacious, great for hanging out, dinning, classes, yoga, activities etc. even receptions. They also have a very comfortable indoor room that was used for yoga classes. I could definitely see this space being used for corporate, social and other wellness type of events. I can't wait to visit again! read more

This Airbnb 4 day visit was great. Our three families met there for our granddaughters wedding in the Redlands and it was perfect. Close to everything. The most beautiful tropical surroundings we have ever found in any rental home or hotel. Peaceful atmosphere and plenty of room for my husband and I along with two daughters and both of their children's families. We had 11 People including an infant which they were so kind to setup a crib for in the largest bedroom. The giant turtles were especially interesting to our two great grandchildren 3 year old. What a beautiful venue for a wedding or special occasion! I got to attend one of my good friend's wedding here and it was nothing short of beautiful. Although the weather said it would rain all afternoon, we lucked out with beautiful skies and quite a bit of sun. As far as parking goes, we were able to park along the street right before the "main entrance." Luckily we weren't the first to arrive so we just followed suit with all the guests already parking. When you walk to the front, you enter and see a beautiful venue with large paper lanterns strung all around. Wait staff served drinks before heading to the left where the ceremony venue was. With the ceremony around 4:30, the sun was still high enough to warm half the seats. Luckily the sun went down during the ceremony providing some cool relief for the guests in the sun. Pro tip: Bring a fan & ladies, wear wedges or thick heels since there's gravel and ground that isn't stiletto friendly. The cocktail hour was on the other side of the venue and was right outside the outdoor reception area. They have an indoor dancing area attached to this. The reception and dance area were covered so even though it started to drizzle, we were safe. Overall, this place is a beautiful spot for weddings and am so happy I got to experience it for this celebration of love. read more

DREAM WEDDING TURNED INTO NIGHTMARE My wedding was 03-03-23, regardless of the poor management that took place, I was manipulated and bribe into deleting the reviews from my guests. I had a full blown panic attack at 9:00pm in the day of my wedding. Also they breached of contract by no providing valet services and off duty police officer. Management will argue that people were drunk at the event and we weren't able to serve alcohol after hours, but I will say I insured the wedding/place of the event which clearly says "host will provide alcohol". therefore the police officers who were called at 10:30pm, weren't able do do anything about their complaints. They stopped me in the middle of my ceremony to gather my things out of the house. Also I was told til 11pm and paid for that than got changed til 10pm. Was told multiple things included. They were not. Like flowers party bus etc. my wedding cake j wanted to follow the tradition of keeping the top tier for first year anniversary they didn't ask and gave the left overs to the staff. I paid for a wedding cake even though they 'included it'. It's a small garden where you can only see the fishes if you going to buy them. There's two turtles cashew and peanut, they are dirty and eat next to their feces and their water it's dirty too. Came here for a wedding in May and this place is so dreamy! Definitely a great place for a wedding and I'm pretty sure it's listed on The Knot as one as well. When you first walk in, it's beautiful. You essentially walk into a forest. Trees cover every inch of this space(except for where the wedding ceremony is held) and they have fairy lights hanging everywhere. As you walk through the garden, there are actual koi ponds every few couple of feet, covered but you can see the different stages of koi being raised. I have to say, baby koi are so cute! In between the koi, they have little gazebos that look super romantic. They have a white bedding and covered with gauzy covering for an intimate alone time. In the back of the venue, they have seating areas for groups that are made of wood and can seat at least 10 people. Perfect for sharing appetizers during the cocktail hour they provided. The ceremony area is beautiful. It is a clean open space with surrounding gardens. Where the groom/bride stand is on a cute bridge over a little stream. Behind which is an awesome rock formations and little Buddha's everywhere. It is very zen garden esque. I will say, in May in Florida, that space has no covering for the seating for the guests, so it can get so hot! But other than that, it is amazing. The bar and dinner area is also beautiful, all under a wood awning area with fairy lights strung up everywhere. It had enough space for four large group dining tables that seated at least 10 people each. The bathrooms are super clean and cute(but not air conditioning!! Super hot in May lol) The one space that is modern ( and air conditioned. Trust me this is important in Florida) is the dance hall. It is a modern open space with enough room to house a whole wedding inside and dancing for after dinner. Overall, a super elegant and dreamy place to get married. There aren't enough words to describe this beautiful venue! I can live here and be in serenity everyday! This place is beyond a chill vibe and just the surroundings are pure bliss! The owners really went out of their way to make this place stand out! You can rent this alluring venue for everything like a wedding, quince, birthday, retirement, baby photos , just whatever your heart desires! It's surrounded by unique designed Koi ponds, some parrots and pigeons, lush gardens, Asian figurines, statues, art, and even a pool. There is seating Everywhere from cute picnic like tables to covered bungalows, bar stools, tables by the different bars, just everywhere for comfort. This place is just beyond beautiful and quite a site! My friend let me know they were having their first event called Beats, Eats, and Sweets here. It's close to home, always drove right by without even a glance,what was wrong with me?! We decided it would be a perfect event for a perfect Saturday! Event said it started at 3 pm and we drove by just to see and it was already getting packed. We went home, got ready, and came back. It's best to park directly across the street as the neighbors seem to mind if you park out their front yard. They have personnel to help direct in the parking and even friendly cops to assist as well. As soon as you walk inside there's a table set up to pay the $10 entrance fee and drink tickets. Yes, there is beer and liquor here BUT you have to buy tickets in advance. Don't worry, in case you run out of tickets and need to purchase more the ladies out front are there all night. You really need to try and come in the day to see all the beautiful areas as we noticed there was a huge area that we had missed that had even more lush gardens, ponds, and space. There was an artist under one of the huts that was live painting Koi fish, there was a free picture stand that provided props and gave you all the pictures for free. There was an ice cream vendor under another hut (perfect for this Miami weather). In the back area there were 3 food trucks available. Once was a Venezuelan with hot dogs, wings, burgers, and more. Then there was a fancy PB & Jelly food truck but my favorite was the vegan food truck. Yes, I just said vegan. Don't get me wrong people were waling by with great foods from the other trucks but I just liked their menu. I winded up ordering the avocado flat bread with a spicy cilantro dressing on the side. OMFG! It was delish, flavorful, crunchy and a had a nice kick to it. Bae had the chicken wings and fries which were also great with a spicy and sweet BBQ flavor, and friend enjoyed the Venezuelan dog. We went to the bar a couple of times and the bartenders were really great and patient as more of a line formed. Now for the entertainment. At first there was an eclectic band that was a sound of jazz/funk/hip hop and soul. They were freaking awesome and had such a unique sound and look! EVERYONE enjoyed them and I hope I get to see them perform again! Next they had a DJ that went old school on hip hop as they jammed out to Electric Relaxation (Tribe Called Quest) Lauryn Hill, Common, to Biggie, and more. DJ was cool and had everyone head bopping! Later on at night they moved on to another DJ that still played a variety but he put more Spanish, reggaeton, and some old school rock. I thought I would love this place because it looks beautiful in the pictures but I was very surprised at the end with the horrible conditions that the birds they have are at. I ended up leaving the place feeling bad for the poor animals wishing I could do something for them. They had dirty water to drink, which looked like it had not been changed in days, including the food. Two of the birds were together in one cage, they looked sad. The worst one was one bird that was by itself in one cage. This poor bird had plucked most of its body feathers, which they commonly do if they are stressed or under an insufficient diet. The poor bird was trembling in fear when it saw us getting close, it looked like it wanted to get out desperately. I am astonished that no one in the reviews of this place has mentioned this. i am the sister of the groom as well as the maid of honor. ever since i arrived at the location i noticed how gorgeous the location was, but it was nothing more than that. as soon as i arrived at the airbnb on thursday, the day before the wedding i am speaking with the bride's father "billy" and i see a man i did not know walking into the house.  i continue to stop him and nicely ask him who he was walking around the house and there were people changing and getting ready for the night. he laughed in my face and responded " i run this place,". i asked him if he could please knock on the door or contact the groom and bride through the phone. he continued to laugh and said he will do whatever he wanted on his property and exited while continuing to laugh at my concern. i am now well aware that austin does not own that place and he is simply someone who works at this locale. i was scared due to all the things happening in the united states these past few years. on the day of the wedding march 3 2023, i arrived around 4:45, i was told there was valet. i went ahead and got down my car and asked austin if he needed my keys, he laughed at me once again and started raising his voice at me giving me an extremely unnecessary attitude and making smart remarks about my time of arrival as a maid of honor and then said for me to park on the side. i did ask if he had a problem with me as it was the second time he disrespected me and he ask " who the **** are you talking to dawg". before going back in my car, i politely asked him if i could leave my car there because i was the maid hof honor and i was late for pictures he answered " do you think you are special because you are the maid of honor" then pointed at my 14-year-old cousin to move my car, i told him he was 14 he answered does it matter he is moving in 10 feet away and at this point austin knows my car is stick shift. i asked him one more time if i could leave my car there for 10 minutes and he continued to say " im going to call the cops and the towing company". i went ahead and moved my car to the side. i went inside and started taking pictures as i see austin approach my brother, the groom. went i asked my brother what he said my brother informed me austin said "she is not allowed to stay here tonight she is not welcome or i will call the cops. my experience with this place and the people working there are scary and always threatening. i talked to the wedding coordinator and i told her i did not feel comfortable there as i was crying and my makeup ran down my face. i informed her i was going to leave a bad review on the place and she just said "you can do that but he will pay to have 500 good comments in less than 15 minutes" read more

I would love to tell you that this place is horrible. That it's insanely crowded and full of nasty people. I would love to tell everyone to STAY AWAY so that I could enjoy this lovely place all to myself. Seriously though, great place to spend a beautiful afternoon without paying an entrance fee (even though they should totally set up a donation box near the door or something). I would love to bring some tea and a picnic basket and just enjoy the fresh air. This time of year when its not hot but not cold is just perfect. They have beautiful seating areas, several statues and busts of buddhas, krishna, kuan yin and others. They have several koi ponds with beautiful fountains but I cannot comment on the actual purchasing of koi or having a custom pond built. I can tell you its a peaceful place to explore. We hosted my daughter's wedding here and I can't say enough wonderful things about this venue. It is immaculate, beautiful, peaceful and everything she and her new husband dreamed of. Kristen who is the owner and we happened to use her as our "day of" person was absolutely OUTSTANDING. She really pays attention to details, she truly wants you to have your dream wedding and works very hard to ensure everything goes as planned. The garden is magical and it wowed our guests. So many options for seating and although we did our ceremony in the church we were able to come and take AMAZING photos in the garden areas before our guests arrived. Kristin is very organized and she has a list of recommended vendors (who by no means you have to use) who are fabulous. Breathtaking! We were cruising around the area and decided to make a quick stop to see the venue, which, I had heard of through one of my clients. The gate was locked but before we turned to leave there was someone who let us in, he explained they were closed since it was Memorial Day weekend but insisted that it was ok for us to go in and check out the grounds. A few mins later we were greeted by the owners and their son, all I can say is that they were the most friendliest people I have had the pleasure of meeting in a while! Gave us a tour and some info on the garden and the renovations they've made to it, and shared some ideas of events they would like have in the near future . This Place is truly a destination that should be experienced for your wedding. When you walk in you truly feel like you have been transported into another world. You are instantly surrounded by lush unique greenery and in every corner of this beautiful forest venue awaits another surprise. If you are an animal lover this place is magnificent it is full of countless unique Koi of every breed, Color and size all look healthy and tanks are all clean. However, I am not picking this place for my wedding due to some other issues. Although this Venue is jaw dropping it only was a small area in which to host an indoor ceremony and although the outdoor aspects of this venue are truly a wonderful sight with the unpredictability of the weather in south Florida not having confidence that you can host a wedding reception/ceremony despite the weather is a large red flag. Especially considering it is 5000 and up just to rent the property (not including anything). The other concern is although the Koi bring a brilliantly unique aspect to this space you can tell that they are also being sold for profit. Through out the entire property you can find things such as net's over certain ponds that will not be removed for the ceremony. Also large wooden tanks that are quite visible in the entrance that houses Koi that are being breed. I feel like if you are looking for an outdoor venue and a once in a lifetime experience this place is brilliant but not with out it's faults! read more

Went driving around the Redlands just looking for koi. Came upon here by chance . You have to call to ahead , But we didn't know that,as a gentleman Mike let us in. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and made us feel extremely comfortable especially after I felt bad not calling ahead. I have worked around fish since I have been 15 years old and have never ever seen fish as beautiful as the ones that I saw today. He was so knowledgeable and I learned so much by just talking to him he Showed us around and explained and showed us all the different fish which I have to mention once again are some of the most gorgeous I have ever seen in person or online.
