This place gives all the good taxidermist a bad name and what was a great outdoor memory into a horrible adventure. Let me tell you what Bill Jones is going to tell you and how your hide is no good and it is going to cost you another extra 300.00 dollars, because he did it to me and to at least 5 others that I talked to about my mount. All he does is cut your antlers off and mounts them on a totally different head. Please do your research and ask questions from whoever you get to do your mount. A responsible person that takes as much pride in their work as you did getting the trophy, will not have a problem with that. I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau that he never responded to, because he already has the money and he knows from all his years of doing business as a greedy scumbag that there is nothing anyone is going to do. The best advice I can give is that the bad stories you read are probably true because if they had a horrible experience and they want others to not get ripped off also. read more

My 15 year son shot a 685 Lb. Black bear in 2008. We took it to Redneck Taxidermy to get a full mount and to have it butchered. we put a $2000.00 deposit on the mount the day we took the bear to get done, remind you it was the same day the bear was shot. One week goes by and the owner Bill calls me and says that meat is all bad, I said how did that happen and he said they did not have time to butcher it, dam what a shame no time then why take the job oh well our loss. Now one year goes by and bill calls and says he needs the rest of the money so that same day i took the remaining $ 1100.00 to him and asked when it was going to done he said they were going to start it the next day he also said that hide was already tanned and it ready to go, wow that awesome i thought i cant wait to see it done. He also added that Cabelas wanted to see the bear and maybe place it in there store that would be awesome for my 15 year son. well bottom line is another year goes by and i hear nothing so i call him and says sorry they got busy they are going to start it next week, OK i said dam if you cant do it let me know and he said no no no its all good. so 5 months go by and i call him again he said hey we got a problem we need a new hide and i was like what are talking about, he said sorry the hide is no good and he can get a hide from Canada for $ 2000.00 i said no way it will not be the same i told him i was going to stop up and he said OK come and lets talk. When i got there of course he was not there, but one of his workers was and he began to tell me that he remembers the bear and when they skinned it out a guy came and got the meat and gave Bill $200.00 for and the next day a guy came and got the hide and gave bill $2000.00 for it. that made me furious. I finally got a hold of Bill again and he began telling me more stories and said sorry he had a fire and said he lost bear in a fire. This when i got a lawyer and we ended up getting are money back after 5 years. So to make a long story short the guy is scum bag and is not a taxidermist just a con artist, bad enough he could rip off a 15 year old boy of a trophy mount. Some day he will get his when he has to see his maker face to face. So what you should do is stay away from Redneck Taxidermy or Redneck Con Artist as he is known. read more

Is it possible to give zero stars? This is the most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. Went to redneck taxidermy for a European Mount and aside from the fact that he had it for almost 7 months it came back to us looking like garbage. He painted the skull of the deer bright white with what looks like dollar store paint and managed to get paint all over the base of the antlers. We also can't even keep it in our house because it smells like a rotting carcass because it was CLEARLY not cleaned out or dried properly or sufficiently. There was a broken tine that my husband specifically DID NOT want fixed and it was fixed, horribly I might add. When we called to complain the owner screamed at my husband telling him he was just a whiner. I would never recommend using redneck taxidermy, the owner is an absolute poor excuse for a taxidermist. Guess I should have looked deeper into the shop before using it considering after this all happened I looked him up and he was charged with assaulting one of his customers in 2011. read more
