We set up the appointment quickly over the phone. He came over on a Saturday morning. He spent time explaining so much about pianos that we never knew. He even talked the risk/ benefit of investing into this piano such as string replacements or even moving it. He explain how quickly a piano can turn into a money pit when you start replacing piece by piece. He offered to replace a string for free that was broken or to let us try it as we continue to just learn how to play. He tuned the piano for a vey reasonable price, accepting cash or check. We were incredibly happy with his service and knowledge. We were also delighted to listen to him play some wonderful jazz style music. He is quite talented. I was very happy with his service. I had my childhood piano shipped from my mother's home when she passed away. This piano has been…read morethrough at least 15 moves and hasn't been tuned up to A440 in likely close to 20 years. Plus, some of the keys were sticking from the movers storing it on its side in the move (BAD for pianos) and the foot pedals were wonky. Really, it would have been much cheaper and easier if I had just bought a new piano, but this one has ivory keys and is the one I grew up with, so I wanted it to work. Eric understood my reasoning for wanting to salvage the piano. He was very knowledgeable and gave me options and the prices for each. He didn't suggest that I replace the action - not because it couldn't be replaced, but because he didn't think that the increase in the sound would be worth the price. When I said I wanted it brought up to A440 instead of tuned to itself, he warned me that this would mean several tunings to keep it in tune as the strings stretched and that we might break a strong or two along the way (thankfully we didn't). He was professional, courteous, and very capable. The piano has been through two tunings now and is ready for its third. There has been much less slippage than I had thought there would be and it has held its tune better than either of us expected. I am very pleased with the service I've received from Eric. I'll be using him in the future and referring him everyone who will listen!

It was badly out of tune, but mechanically sound. Although he's located an hour away, he was working in my area and agreed to tune the piano for the flat price quoted on his website: $100. He spent almost three hours bringing everything gently into tune, then buffed the felts (which improved the tone to an amazing degree). But that was only after a full inspection, and an offer to either tune it as-is for his stated price, or make some needed repairs for only a small amount more. If this piano was for serious use, his offer would have been more than generous, but he understood that it's just for casual use and visitors playing. We talked about bringing it up to concert pitch, but the 90 year old strings had some rust spots, so in the interest of safety he tuned it exactly a half tone flat. The only reason I don't give him five stars, is because I'm not a piano player, so I can't rate him fully. But, I highly recommend his services for anyone in northern New Hampshire. You can't beat the price, and I highly doubt you'll beat the service.
