Bottom Line: Exemplary customer service and safe and fun pilots. My husband and I had a superb experience with Redtail Air Adventures! I first reached out to Redtail in April 2022 with various questions about getting a charter from Durango to Moab in October 2022. I was nervous about the idea of booking a charter, in part because I didn't want to get stranded in Durango and miss an important event we had planned in Moab. Amanda was so incredibly helpful in answering all of my questions when I first booked our flight in April and all of my questions over the next six months. Amanda immediately gave me confidence in flying with Redtail and she was helpful in pointing me towards options for rental cars. When the day of our flight came Barbara picked us up in Durango. Barbara was welcoming, friendly, entertaining and most importantly a safe pilot. She even helped us load our luggage in our car which I thought was very kind. While she safely navigated from DRO to CNY she gave us some recommendations for what to see and where to eat in Moab and she pointed out some sights too. We loved that she pointed our Corona Arch because we hiked up to that arch later that afternoon. We really enjoyed our flight with Barbara! In addition to doing charter flights, Redtail Air Adventures specializes in scenic tours over Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. Redtail also does river shuttles such as dropping or picking up people who are going to hike, bike or raft somewhere in the wilderness and they need a one-way ride. What an incredible experience with red tail! After flying into the Canyonlands airport, the redtail service desk was right at the arrivals and really accommodating in providing information about the flyover tours of all the surrounding national parks for Moab. We chose the flyover for Canyonlands national park because it was much larger and a full 60 minutes in the air. It was such a beautiful view of all the sections of such a massive national park, so much of it is not accessible via paved roads. We loved how Ethan our pilot pointed out all the landmarks on our way to the Canyonlands, including the Colorado and Green rivers, as well as the three scenically distinct regions of the park, Island in the Sky, the maze, and the needles. We really enjoyed our time on the flight tour and will highly recommend it to others!! read more

My husband and I wished to do a sunset flight over the Canyonlands when we were in Moab in September, 2023 just for an overnight. We had contacted Redtail by email and they were very prompt in getting back to us and answering our questions. The Director of Business Operations, Randy Martin, was even kind enough to pick us up at our hotel and to drop us off after our flight. This was a spectacular experience. We have seen the area from  every angle and every level.  We have Kayaked and canoed down the Green River, we have driven the 4 WD White Rim Road, We have spent time hiking the Island in the Sky. Now we have seen it all from the air. We flew over Canyonlands, Natl. Park, and Arches Natl. park. The views cant be described... but it certainly puts everything into perspective. We went on a windy day so thought it might be bumpy, it wasn't.  Our pilot was professional and knew his plane. He knew the area, and pointed out many landmarks using the plane wingtips. Made a reservation online, went to the Canyonlands airport for takeoff. I got an aerial view of Canyonlands and Arches National Park with the pilot as our tour guide letting us know what we see and any other anecdote that relates to it through headsets we wore on the flight. The headset is also equipped with a microphone so you can talk and the pilot and passengers can hear you and vice versa. It's a small plane.. Probably seats 8? including the pilot. They have bags in the seat pocket in front of you just in case you feel the need to barf. And if you're uneasy in turbulence or small planes-- it may not be for you. You see a lot of things you may not see from the ground. We were told bank robbers would hide out in these canyons-- that's how desolate it can be. People go there to not be found. It's also an aerial view and it covers more ground in less time than it would take you hiking. read more

We loved our scenic flight over Canyonlands and Arches National Parks. I believe our pilots name was Dan, but it could have been Dave, Im really bad at names. Either way, he knew so many facts about the area and was a fantastic guide on our 2/15 flight. My husband and I loved every minute (about 90 minutes) in the air. We were in a small plane that held 8 but it wasn't full. It was so smooth and we saw so many awesome sights that most people don't ever get too. We highly recommend this adventure! read more

Within 24 hours we got an aerial tour of Monument Valley that also included Canyonlands and Arches and a bit of everything in-between. Our pilot, Craig, was a blast- great personality, informative, bright and never rushed. You see sites from the air that you would never see from the ground, including an arch that takes 17 hours each way to hike to. Craig added some extra views of Arches that weren't bargained for because... he's Craig the GREAT pilot. Jackie, who took our reservation, was also funny and charming and witty. I'm very disappointed; we have a flight coming in today with one of our owners and departing tomorrow. Their website indicates they provide catering and Enterprise Rental is one of the local services available. When I called today to confirm delivery of a rental car I was told that they could not verify delivery since they "don't have a contract with Enterprise". Also, I was told that they don't provide catering as there isn't anyone in the area to provide catering. Their website indicates not only that they provide catering but also "offer every service that you could ask for at another airport." The only truth I found is that our experience is definitely unforgettable. We stopped by the downtown location and book ourselves a 3hr plane ride over canyonland. We even got to bring my 1 year old. It was four of us and we arrived about 10mins late at the airport but they were very nice and didn't complain. Desi was our pilot and she was amazing! At 24, she flew the plane and explained Moab like an expert. Ask for her if you can. My son loved it and even fell asleep. 100% worth it!!!! read more

If you're visiting Moab for only a day or two, definitely consider going on an air tour! My husband and I had an amazing time on our flight over Canyonlands and Arches a couple weeks ago. Really awesome to see the expanse of Canyonlands and the twists in Green River. The arches are clearly visible from the air but probably seem smaller than if you were standing right next to them. Still definitely worth it to beat the heat (and crowds) and make the most of our one day in Moab! Our pilot Tom was knowledgeable about many points of interest and made the flight fun. He did a good job checking in with passengers to make sure we were comfortable the entire flight. We had only scheduled our flight the day before by walking into the shop in town, but only one other person ended up on the same flight, so there was plenty of room in the plane.
