We went on a 5-day river rafting trip in Cataract Canyon this summer with World Wide River Expeditions and had a BLAST!!! This trip was seriously one of the best experiences I have ever had! We spent the first two days just relaxing on the river. It was all smooth water so we did a lot of swimming, chatting, reading, and goofing around. The guide was full of stories, history, geology, and even a little guitar playing! We stopped a couple of times for a hike and to see some indian petroglyps. THE FOOD WAS AWESOMELY YUMMY!!!! On the third day, we hit the whitewater. HOLY FREAK! It was intense! The river was at "High Water" so the rapids were humongous! It was crazy non-stop fun! I have no idea how our guide manged to keep the raft upright and pointed straight while we flew through the air off the top of the monster waves! After the big whitewater sections we hit lake powell and they tied all of the rafts in our group together to the "RIG", a great big long raft with a motor, and we cruised through the lake powell canyon to the take out ramp. An airplane flight back to Moab is included in the trip and we got to fly back over the river that we had just rafted. It was really neat to see it from the air. The perfect ending to a perfect trip! I would do it all again in a heartbeat! World Wide is located off of the main street in Moab and their prices were a lot lower than the other river running operations we looked at. The people at the base were super friendly and helpful. Even the owner Nicki was there and totally involved in making sure everything went super smooth. Our guide has been running this stretch of river for more than 25 years and the company has been around since 1970 so we felt totally safe in their hands. Everyone we met was super knowledgeable and helpful. A++++

We had the absolute best time with her -- she went along with our goofy vibe from the get-go and even took pictures of our whole group along the way since none of us wanted to bring our phone on the river. I felt safe doing the Class I/II rapids and even got out to swim in one, per Savannah's suggestion. The bus ride to the put-in is about 45 minutes and about half that on the way back and the other guides get up and give information about the surrounding landscape in a very funny, engaging way. Would absolutely do this again, next time, with our kids! 10/10.

Lunch was easy - they set up super quick - caesar salad wraps, waters/juices, chips, chicken salad, and Oreos. Some of my favorite parts was the fact that ALL the guides and bus driver were all young women. I loved that my kids saw these women do all the heavy lifting (literally and figuratively) and think it sets an awesome example to my son and young daughter. A few days later as we drove out of Moab, we drove down the same 10-15 miles of road we took on the bus. I didn't realize how much my kids had absorbed during the bus ride, but they rattled off all the facts, stories and sites that the guide had shared on our way to rafting.

You can either meet at their location, where you can get some merch, sunscreen, use the facilities and ask any questions you have, or you can pay a small fee to get picked up from your location. From their place to the river, we did one of their raft tours, with 2 other couples we met there, and Josh, our guide. From beginning to end, Josh had a lot of information and history to share with us, and he made everything interesting and fun. He enjoyed answering questions, sharing his knowledge with us, and taking all the pictures we wanted. We even stopped for a quick hike on our tour (and those that didn't want to join were welcomed to stay on the raft). This was an amazing way to see a lot in a "short time" and learn.

I was searching on line and found Navtec. The river ride on the Colorado sounded like a great way to see the park. And it sure was, we nailed it. We arrived at their location downtown Moab a little while after checking into a hotel downtown. They offered to pick us up but it was a nice 10 minute walk to get to their office. It's a nice spot with plenty of last minute necessary's like sunscreen. Within minutes of rallying our group of 6 we were off to the launch point for the tour with our motorized blowup boat. We had a stop along the way at the great wall to see hieroglyphics. The boat ride was great, with information on spots and stories as well. Our guide Josh was excellent. Happy to say we had a great time.

We found that Wild West voyages was very responsive and gave us periodic updates prior to our trip. On the day of our trip Jay picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the Canyonlands needle District. We can't see enough good things about our ghide Jay. He was informative, engaging, friendly, and really funny. We couldn't ask for a better guide. We stopped at various points and did two hikes in Canyonlands Totaling a little over 5 miles. Jay made it a point to keep the pace slow and easy. Wild West Voyages provided snacks, water, and a great lunch. We enjoyed our tour of the needles district so much that we immediately booked a white water rafting trip the following day. We spoke with Catherine at Wild West and she couldn't have been more helpful. She booked us for a rafting tour the very next day. We were pleasantly surprised the rates which we believe to be very reasonable. We recommend Wild West Voyoges to anyone who's thinking about taking a tour in and around Moab.

We are a family of 5 (3 kids age 15 to 20, mom, dad) who are writing this review together because…read morethe Cataract Canyon trip we just took with Sheri Griffiths was so spectacular,,, we really wanted to get this review right. First, a word about our guides, Zhanna and Addy. We hit the jackpot! They were funny (even our 15 year old laughed at their jokes), smart (they knew more about the insects, geology, history of the area than our 18 year old, which never happens), and creative problem-solvers (Addy is an actual boat mechanic, which came in handy when the motor wouldn't start - she was able to diagnose that the choke was sticking open, and fix it). Zhanna and Addy were constantly checking in with us to make sure we were hydrated, fed, reapplying sunscreen, staying cool, etc. Also, they worked incredibly hard, always putting our needs first, making sure we were safe/happy at all times. It was incredible to watch the two of them working like a well-oiled machine loading the boat in the morning, cooking dinner at night, and navigating the rapids with deep boating technical expertise. We had insane wind ("Uncle Gusty" on the river), but Addy and Zhanna stayed positive the whole time, even though it made everything harder for them -- picture (1) an epic battle to get the sun shield up in 50 mph winds because they were determined to protect our skin and (2) navigating rapids safely despite the gusts trying their hardest to throw us into the rocks. We also appreciated how they adapted over time as they got to know us and picked different hikes based on our interests. They took us to see more Ancestral Puebloan granaries when they saw how much we loved learning about the history from them - their respect for Native American history and culture was inspiring. Zhanna is a serious athlete who taught us how to catch the eddies while swimming (zooming) in circles around Airplane Eddy. Next, a word about the company. We picked Sheri Griffiths because they offered the length of trip we needed (2 nights, 3 days). Again, we hit the jackpot. Everything was impressively orchestrated. The orientation the night before was super helpful (would recommend your whole group attend). After reviewing everything from the trip plan to how to close a dry bag, Zhanna took drink orders and hit the grocery store later that night to buy us our favorite brand of seltzers. These personal touches throughout made all the difference! The food was delicious, plentiful, and constant. When we got off the boat, our driver was there watiing for us, and was another friendly guy who knew a ton about the area, and had lots of snacks and drinks for us. Finally, a word about the area. We were mesmerized by the beauty, the solitude, and the care with which everyone treated both the environment and eachother. We checked in with every boat we encountered to make sure all was well. We even grabbed a guide-friend of Addy's for a while to hitch a ride (he was on an 8-day solo trip, rowing the whole way). So, needless to say we are HUGE fans of Sheri Griffith, and even more so Zhanna and Addy. Thank you all for three days that we will never forget. You have set a high bar for any guided trips we take in the future!
