General - My family was looking for a place to stay close to Granite Falls, MN for a summer airshow. Since there are not a lot of hotels in the area, we broaden our search to find a good hotel at a good price. Location - Redwood Lodge is right off the main highway running through Redwood Falls. You are close to everything the town has to offer and right across the street from a gas station and Walmart. Rooms & Building - The rooms look like they were just recently remodeled. There were a few rooms that still were under construction. The remodeled rooms were cozy and comfortable. They included a fridge and microwave. Amenities - This hotel doesn't offer a pool, but they do have a neat relaxation room that includes a hot tub and sauna. My kids had fun watching cartoons on the TV and sitting in the hot tub. They also have free coffee and cookies (delicious brownie cookies) available. In the morning, a free breakfast is provided. Food - The breakfast buffet had a lot of options to pick from and was one of the better breakfast buffets we have had in quite some time. They offered the standards such as waffles, cereal, eggs, fruit, toasting items, etc. but also offered breakfast sandwiches and biscuits and gravy. You did not leave hungry! Vibe - Easy going and super friendly staff. The hotel lobby was very welcoming and smelled like cinnamon and apples. The vintage farmhouse décor matched the town's vibe and made for a very pleasant stay. Reality vs. Online - Pictures that I saw on their website and online matched the quality and condition of the hotel and rooms in-person. No surprises. Price & Final Verdict - I paid about $135 a night. Great bang for your buck, especially when you included the free breakfast, coffee, and cookies. Great hospitality at a great price. Redwood Lodge is definitely one of the better places to stay in the immediate area, even without a pool. We would stay again. read more

1 Star -- never again. my partner and i recently stayed at redwood lodge, and unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. from the moment we arrived, the energy was off. the front desk clerk questioned nearly everything my husband said -- from how we booked the room (Expedia, which apparently was "odd" to him) to making strange remarks about how we "drove without ID." it was unprofessional, unnecessary, and set the tone for the rest of our stay. we checked in with our emotional support dog, who was clearly seen by the same front desk clerk. several days into our stay -- the day before checkout -- we were given a note on the door stating we were not in a pet-friendly room and needed to move. at that point, why disrupt us after seeing us and our pet the entire time? staff interactions continued to feel cold, overly suspicious, and frankly judgmental. when i asked for a simple tool (pliers) to install a personal shower head, i was met with multiple questions instead of support -- even though i had already used the same pliers earlier in the week. at checkout, I was again told no pliers existed and stared at by multiple staff members while struggling to maneuver the luggage cart out the front door. no offer to help. just silence and stares. it's one thing for a place to be basic, but it's another for it to be inhospitable. do better. everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and welcome -- especially when they're paying guests. -- a guest who will never return read more

For RF this is luxury! Clean hotel. Not exactly shiny new but probably best in town. Note casino hotel all rooms smell like cigarette smoke. The bagels in the jar at breakfast might have been decades old. Stick with waffles! Room was comfortable /clean ...weird having an old fashioned tv and the honeymoon suite had a honeymoon suite sign on it! Convienent to everything Redwood has too offer! read more

Excellent continental breakfast and always home baked cookies and great coffee all day ; but best of - excellent staff who go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable!! Pulled in at 11pm, nicely appointed lobby and friendly staff. Quick check in we were in our room within 5 mins. Clean, modern; what more can you ask. If you ever find yourself in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, this is technically a hotel. The exterior of this hotel and the lobby have both been recently updated and look good. The rooms are not good. Outdated, damp, dirty, unkept. I would recommend finding other accommodations. read more

We booked the Redwood Lodge for my Dad and his brother. They enjoyed their stay. Dad mentioned the staff was kind and the beds were comfortable. They mentioned the complimentary breakfast was good, waffles, fruit, pastries, coffee, cereal milk, and orange juice. The price was fair. Thank you!! read more

We made reservations in June based on the pictures online. I made our reservations for 2 nights in a King Jacuzzi suite. After driving for 5 hours we arrived and brought all of our things inside and registered and paid for our room. We entered our room on the second floor and were hit with a strong smell of mold. There must be some mistake! There isn't a spa tub in the room. The spa is in the bathroom. My husband saw the caulking coming off the faucet and had me come into the bathroom to show me the loose faucet coming out of the wall. We went downstairs to tell the clerk (who should NOT be working with the public) and ask her if the motel has a mold problem. She tells us that there has been a lot of rain lately and they were having a hard time drying things out. (There wasn't enough rain to reach the second floor) We ask if there are any other rooms available that we could look at. After a few sighs, she gave us keys to the Honeymoon suite and to a standard room. The Honeymoon suite had a square cut out of the wall connecting the bedroom and bathroom, but the spa was still in the bathroom and the TV did not angle, so you couldn't watch TV while in the tub - so what's the point. The tub had stains in it and the floor tiles were cracked. The standard room had a mold smell as well. Every Jacuzzi/ spa room we have ever stayed at - the spa is in the actual room NOT the bathroom. The hotel looks so nice on the outside. We did not stay there and do not recommended this hotel to anyone. read more

Nice Clean hotel. There are signs that the Redwood Valley Lodge has had some recent make-overs (new carpet smell, shiny "wood" floors). My room was very clean - Non-smoking; smelled of fresh paint and new carpet. The beds were comfortable with the new style of lots of pillows, a duvet and comforter (rather than an old fashioned hotel bed spread). My room had a fridge, coffee maker and microwave, and the coffee maker in the breakfast area was stocked throughout the evening. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The exercise room is small with basic equipment, but adequate to get my "travel legs" moving. The breakfast was pretty basic (bread, bagels, English muffins, waffle machine and cereal). No fruit or yogurt, but what they had was fresh. read more
