Last year, they were…read moreenrolled in Foster City schools which in my opinion is overrated and easy to have children lost in the mix. Roosevelt is a small school with better student to teacher ratios than much of the bay area. The teachers seem to have so much more concern for the kids than our previous location and treat each child as a valued member of the community. Parents are very involved with this school and the various parent groups sponsor several activities and functions throughout the year. The principal, Mr Hills, makes it a point to know each child by name and is VERY accessible to parents and listens to issues and concerns with an open mind. Instead of being some stuffy bureaucrat behind a desk, he seems to be involved in every aspect of running this school, is accountable and seems comfortable in his own skin. This is a good place for kids to come and learn as both of my children going here are really flourishing. The older of the two never really had a decent teacher until this year and was getting increasingly frustrated with school. Under his teacher, he is really having a good year and takes pride in his schoolwork. It is amazing what a difference a year makes.

The teachers don't communicate when your child is felling, they only call you when your child is disruptive to their class. I just sat in my son class for a whole week to watch and was very disappointed and made sure that my son made up every missing assignment he missed . There is no way he should be felling this week . I will be transferring my son to a different school after this marking period. That is how disappointed I am with the staff ,teacher ,and principal of Roosevelt middle school. This school is a joke.

I love this daycare because Mrs.Roseanne and Cesar are such a caring people, always checking on us and they do a great job with all the kids here! Is like a family I love that!!!! I feel good when I drop my kids off as I know they will be safe and In good hands. Rainbow has a great environment and i considere rainbow as a safe place to trust my kids while i have to work! 100% recommended!!! :)

Really amazing administration and leadership - very active in building connections and on going projects between the boys and girls. They all know each other. My children have so many resources - reading specialists, math specialists, etc - that allow for differentiated learning within the classroom. For example, it is common for children in the same class to be learning at different math levels. While we are not religious, my favorite thing about the school is their global approach. The children are very educated about current events, world religions, world languages (Spanish, French, Mandarin, Latin), art, and music (Music Conservatory program). While academics and teachers are top notch, the global approach and emphasis on school community is very impressive. We love the school and all our kids are thriving! Also, great sports program!

I volunteered at the Stuart Hall for boys, a Catholic School of the Sacred Heart, as part of Bay…read moreArea Scientists in Schools in 2017. Two of my fellow graduate students from the Earth and Planetary Science department at UC Berkeley and I prepared and gave an interactive lesson and experiment on earthquakes and geological faults to a class of boys. Students interacted with the handout we prepared electronically via tablet technology and we broke the students into three groups, one with each of us volunteers. The students in my group were well behaved, contributed to group discussion, and not afraid to partake in the hands-on experiment. On the whole I had a good experience. One of the other volunteers was male, the other female, and I am female. I had no issues getting the male students to pay attention, nor did the other male volunteer, though we were both geophysicists and earthquakes fell in our realm of graduate studies. The other female volunteer, a geochemist, said she had a little difficulty with the students in her group, but not bad. Our conclusion was maybe it was related to our knowledge background and area of study in graduate school and how that translated into our teaching style, though there were lingering concerns it might have been related to her being female.

The parent-education nights have only gotten better with speakers touching on Destigmatizing Failure, Resilience, and Family Estate Planning. The entire community benefits from their program since they do so much outreach and are involved in the farmer's market, free, monthly open-to-all playdates, and the annual cherry festival parade. I'm so grateful to have Broadmoor as a resource for myself, as a pandemic-mom, and for my daughter, who blossomed after having been a pandemic-baby. Kindergarten, here we come!

Teachers Ms Kacia and Ms Liz are amazing, so knowledgeable, thoughtful and caring in specialized ways for each child to feel seen and valued. Our daughter has blossomed. This school offers a close knit parent community, so much support and good times. We feel so fortunate that our daughter and family are a part of this community. We love Broadmoor!
