As a pandemic baby, my child was initially shy and hesitant to talk or interact with others. However, after attending Elk Grove Montessori for over two years, she has become enthusiastic about sharing stories from school every day. You can see in her eyes how much care and attention she has received from her teachers. She often tells me how much she likes all her teachers. On several occasions, we've run into her teachers outside of school, and each time, she rushes over for a hug, which her teachers always return warmly. Afterward, she proudly tells us, "That's my teacher!" Academically, she can now recognize all the letters along with their phonics, spell simple three-letter words at times, count from 1 to 100, perform addition within 10, and talk about different stories. She did mention that some children occasionally behaved inappropriately, but I believe that can happen anywhere--I heard similar stories from my two older children when they were in a different preschool. We shared our concerns with the school, and since then, she hasn't mentioned it again. The school and the teachers are attentive, caring, and truly listen to the children's needs. Overall, I'm very grateful for the positive impact Elk Grove Montessori School has had on my daughter's growth and confidence.

I emailed a 3rd time weeks later and finally heard back with a short answer and offering my deposit back . My son attended Stockton Montessori for only less than a month and a half…read more Lily lacks empathy, knowledge, and structure. There is a language barrier with Lily. It's extremely difficult to be on the same page with her. This place is money hungry. A random teacher aide asked me to pick up my son 30 minutes earlier, because my son was crying... The aide said Lily asked her to ask me. Wouldn't Lily need to bring that up to me? I spoke with Lily and asked why would I need to pick up my son 30 minutes before, when I pay for 4 hours? I asked if my tuition would be lowered and she immediately was defensive and took back her absurd request. To top the day off my son was covered in dirt. From his face, hands, and shirt. I understand kids will get messy. However, my son was covered in filth. The aide who was walking with him didn't bother to wash his hands + face after coming in from playing outside. Please think twice before coming here unless you want to deal with the concerning amount of turnover for teachers. I highly suggest you check out INDEED. You will find teachers complaining about lack of pay + structure.

All of my children have been with them since they were infants (2 months & 5 months old). Even from infancy formula is provided if needed along with food plans outlined once solids are introduced. Once old enough they facilitate a preschool program, my two year old can hold a pencil correctly and does his worksheets daily. The early introduction to these skills continue on to help prepare for kindergarten. We decided to keep our kids at Harvest House until they started kindergarten, and credit the curriculum and dedication they set in place of reading, sight words, and math to setting them up for success. My 8 and 5 yr old progressed at different paces but both felt more confidence going into kindergarten. In the eight years we have been with them they haven't been closed outside the Holidays and Vacation days outlined at the beginning of the year, providing us working parents with the reliability and stability needed.
