From my interactions with the staff, it sounds like they would not have gotten her treated if they found out she was sick at the store. It feels like buying her ended up being kind of a rescue mission, honestly. The staff at 50 fathoms tried to deny that she was even sick, telling me that the vet I went to wasn't good and insisting that I should have gone to a different vet all the way in Baton Rouge. They said the vet was just guessing, but actually the vet did a fecal exam and also sent her blood out to a lab. I know I'm not the ideal pet owner because I'm poor and have an active outdoorsy lifestyle, but I'm doing everything I can to save this bird which is much more than they did. The bird is responding well to treatment and the vet says she has a pretty good chance of survival, but the articles I've read say that the treatment plan involves six weeks of antibiotic injections to prevent the bacterial infection from becoming treatment resistant. That's a lot of vet appointments for an animal I just bought four days ago. Chlamydophilosis is transmittable to humans. While I do recommend buying from a small locally owned business, this one wouldn't be my first choice anymore despite their wonderful selection of exotics, because I don't feel good about their standards for ensuring their animals' health and well being. If you must buy from this store, proceed with caution.

There are numerous pets, including birds, turtles, snakes, eels, stingrays, freshwater turtles, and a wonderful variety of fish. I absolutely love the staff, especially sweet Cassie. From there, you go into the Aquarium. What you will find there is tons and tons of fish orientated exhibits. If you've every been to an Aquarium, in any large city, this one is very much the same. You know what to expect. If you want to check out a lot of various versions of fish, this is you place to go. They also have a nice penguin exhibit within the Aquarium. They seem to be very friendly and interactive. There is also a large space housing rescued owls and falcons and the like. Just like in the case of the penguins, personally, I always feel kind of sad for large birds housed in a space like this, as they are basically trapped. The good news is, I guess, is due the fact that they were injured in the wild they can live out their years in safety while being well taken care of. They offer good prices on replacement tires and seat kits, and they have a huge selection of new and used carts. They can trick out your ride or you can buy a already lifted and booming cart turnkey. Back to the repairs, they don't do them at your location, their preferred method is picking up your cart and fixing at their shop, calling you with a estimate and then returning after the job is done. Tim is the main man there and is very helpful but not the most personable person, though that doesn't matter much because he gets the job done right everytime.

This being said, what you do get to see in this part of the greater museum is an incredible butterfly exhibit. I mean, it is really a place to see! But, if you go inside, be really careful that you do not step on the butterflies because they do land on the walkway. And, don't try to grab the butterflies. So many types of insects exhibited in their environments. I particularly liked the velvet red ants. Ginormous. Can't really say I spent too much time reading any of the information on the insects. My favorite part of the insectarium, where I spent most of my time, was the butterfly atrium. What an absolutely spectacular place. Heavenly. When you walk through one door, it has to close before another door opens. This is to ensure no butterflies escape. As soon as I walked in, there were hundreds of butterflies! Of all shapes and sizes, blue, brown, white, yellow, orange and black. The majority of them were attached to the window where they thought they could fly out. There's different types of plants for them to land on. Fruit and sponges with nectar are set throughout the trail for them to land and suckle on. There's a walkway for visitors, but you have to be careful because butterflies land on the walkways, too. You're not supposed to touch or hold the butterflies, but it's fine if they land on you. The staff member there kept repeating not to touch the butterflies because there was a child who kept grabbing at them. You could tell some of the butterflies were man handled because pieces of their wings were missing. Honestly, it's pretty hard to keep your hands to yourself when there are so many butterflies flying around your head.

The particular room I chose was 9/10 difficulty with 2/10 scare factor. I'd like to not be frightened while trying to think. Lol This escape room seems to lack some of the polish that the other area escape rooms have. Getting hints involves calling your game master on a walkie talkie and then physically coming to your room and looking it over and helping wherever you're stuck. There's no cryptic hints like at other venues. There's no welcome video explaining the rules of the game. There's no intro video once you're inside staging the scene. There's no real setting the mood happening, which is a bummer. The atmosphere is part of the fun. This felt kinda blah. It was rated a 9 difficulty but it's probably more of a 6. There was a large white board which was nice. Those small boards are almost useless. I'm hoping that these are just part of being a new location and will improve with time.

I brought my boat in for the 1999 Johnson 200 HP Ocean Pro outboard motor to be repainted. The…read moreorginal color of the motor is Johnson gray. I got a quote for 1500.00 for the job. When I went to pick the boat up, the outboard motor was paint white. No one told me they were going to change the color, nor did I request it to be painted white. Now I didn't say anything to them about this because when I was shopping for this boat, 1999 Seaswirl Striper 21 ft walk-around, the motors were white, which I really liked better than the gray, but at the time I was ready to purchase, the motors were changed to gray color. That was why I didn't say anything to them about it; but I felt this was not handled properly for changing the color unauthorized by me. The paint job finish was really good, however, with the exception of some shoddy cleanup work after they painted it: namely some masking tape left stuck to the interior of the boat where they masked it off for overspray, and tape left on a lower unit bolt, and worse, tape left on one of the lower unit intake ports. You can understand what would have happened if I didn't catch the latter- engine overheating! It took me a good while to remove the stuck on tape from the boat's interior area. I also wasn't too pleased with the tape job on the motor cover's black gasket, which I had to clean the white paint off of. As far as the motor decals, I chose to buy and put them on myself. Another frightening thing that would have been a serious catastrophy is that they removed the screw-in drain plug in the rear of the haul and didn't tell me. I never remove this plug as the boat is self-bailing as well as having an automatic bilge pump below the upper deck. Fortunately I happened to find that plug laying in the transom backwash tray. I was disappointed about the job as a whole, given all the good reviews that prompted me to take it here.

It wasn't explained that a 500 deposit would be put on a credit card. The young lady handling the rental explained that only half the cost of the pontoon rental (295$) would be put on hold. It wasn't explained that the rental wouldn't include gas use. For obvious first timers this should have been initially disclosed. No reminders that pontoon rental was coming up. No reassurance that after a lake ban had been issued not allowing folks to get into the lake that it was ok to be on a boat. No communication or reassurances. I had to ask all the questions and keep calling back about the lake algae bloom and no copies of the paper work we had to sign. Recommend going somewhere else as we should do next time.
