I've had indians before, but never quite up to the standard as what you get at Reena Tandoori. Having walked past it a few times, it looked like a nice little place. Always very busy though, with good reason. We booked a table at 9 and on arrival there was not a table to spare, but a table was cleared and set up in no time with a beautiful set out with roses and crisp white folded napkins. The staff are the nicest people you have ever met, you can tell they enjoy working there and customer service is at their forefront. I ordered a chicken madras with a garlic naan and chips, for my lovely girlfriend who is vegetarian, there are veggie options for everything on the menu, which is great. Food takes around 15 minutes to come when busy, and it was heaving so I can understand the wait. Another feature of the restaurant is that you can bring your own alcohol and they will provide glasses, which is an excellent money saver. My chicken madras arrive and it looked majestic, I immediately dug in with my garlic naan which was also nice and warm, the madras was amazing, just the right kind of mild/hot you'd want. I tried some of the veggie madras also, which was amazing, the potatoes tastes amazing. Value for money is an understatement, £14 for a meal for 2, I'm pretty sure you pay around £15 at morrisons/asda/tesco for an 'indian for two' boxed meal. On my second visit, I stepped it up a notch and tackled a vindaloo and oh my it is not for the faint hearted, exactly what I expected, eyes watering and nose running slightly with m tongue on fire, but so much that it burns out the flavour which was nice, the pilau rice was lovely with the vindaloo and I finished every last bit of it. The Chef on both visits came out and asked how our food was great. Overall; Great food, friendly staff and amazing customer service, with prices that leave you shocked for the calibre of food and service you got. read more
