Well during our travels, we stopped at Boomland to use the bathrooms and refresh my trump gear . The place is huge and they sell everything that you can imagine. There's a restaurant all types of souvenirs, clothing, gasoline, lottery tickets...you name it they probably got it.

What an eclectic place. Happen to stop here just to take a break. We ended up staying for hours. Had lunch at Wally's Chew Chew Restaurant. Which was buffet style and excellent. Down home food that left us getting to go plates. Then we did some unique shopping. Everything you think you could want is here. Unique gifts and crafts galore. My favorite item purchased was an owl. Best roadtrip stop ever! Will definitely be going back to Charleston, MO!

Wow! They have things that go "BOOOM" here! They have all kinds of stuff that are illegal for me to buy and bring home to California. They got exploding stuff like firecrackers, M-80's, M-150's, bottle rockets. They have colorful stuff that I've never seen or heard of. They even have home decor and Missouri gifts. It's a unique place to stop. Better and more interesting than the McDonald's across the street!

Been stopping here on the way to Memphis since I was a little girl with my dad now I am continuing the tradition with my family.

I have been stopping at Boomland on the way down south since I was a little girl with my mom and dad. Now I am continuing the tradition with my family. I think of my dad buying loads of fireworks everytime we stopped here. I miss him and love the memories this place brings. The bathrooms remain large and clean. I never feel uncomfortable using the facilities. The assortment of souvenirs and trinkets and candles and statues and posters and hangings and magnets and just everything remain unrivaled. Will always and I mean always stop here!

This is a delightful store that has all of the regular groceries plus fireworks, refreshing novelties and an excellent selection of old fashioned candies and canned goods. Their hot sauce selection was wonderful. We were able to get inexpensive souvenirs for the children!. I was able to get my favorite taffy and blueberry butter. I live in the western USA and we only have apple butter out there so this was a special treat.

This place reminds me of a huge fruit stand down south. It has everything. Jams, fruit, candies. Kid of like the old time general store. I really love it. The only thing is the bathrooms are a bit stinky and half the toilets do not work. It's not enough to just write sorry for the inconvenience, fix um. I would still recommend stopping through.

Huge rocking chair for giants at entry. Cool photo opp....

I absolutely loved this place! If was very weird. Very kitschy & touristy, but you must stop by. I found so many things... By the way the firecracker store is attached but completely separate giant store. But yah... They got all the boom you need. The main store is a gallery of literally everything. Clothes, statues,, souvenirs,, fun, etc But, i fell in love with all the unique food products. Strange pickles, coffees, chocolates, cursed, seasonings, hot sauces, bbq sauces, all sauces, meats, endless oddities And then, there's the restaurant... Heard the food is good. Did not get a chance to try it. But the real stuffed animals sniff hunting scenery is surreal Just stop in... Bring a few bucks.

Stopped to grab a bite and get back to the road.

Unlike my experience in Tennessee, the workers in Boomland I have encountered today are not that friendly. They too are busy. So I suppose the way in which they speak to people is based upon how busy or not busy they are. Very short. Redirective. Less than warm talking to patrons. Not impressed. Saddened actually. Because my mom spoke highly of this place. She must have meant the food and items for sale. Because it's totally not the friendliness of the workers in the food (hot food) area.

If you want fireworks and soft serve ice cream, this is the place for you. What can I say? It's the land of boom. So many fireworks, so little time. Go here. You won't be disappointed. And then go look at the pimp cups at the store. And then get some ice cream. You're welcome.

Not what I remember at all. It has gotten a lot bigger and offers different dining options but aside from that there's nothing more to it but a huge store. Your typical run of the mill truck pit stop. It's the halfway mark to our destination so it's our usuall stopping point for gas.

On my next road trip they were in the process of rebuilding and Wally's Chew Chew was closed.
