I would be hesitant in going here 2 hours before closing in the future. We didn't get most of the pass arounds until we were done with our meal and ready to go. The staff were friendly as usual and our server was really good and the place is clean as usual! The salmon patties were really good, I'd order them again. The food, overall, seems to be not well mixed with salt. My husband's chicken and dumplings had an inedible layer of just pure salt. He mixed everything up and it was better but the shock of a mouthful of salt lingered for the rest of the meal. The fried potatoes pass around had the same issue. This is still very much so a tourist destination and a once in a blue moon trip for us when we find ourselves in the area. The allure of the "throwed rolls" and pass arounds is enough to keep this place an option for us, especially since we're learning what not to order.

This place was fun and yummy! They throw hot rolls at you and have the biggest drink cups I've ever seen. You get lots of food to share and portions are large. Our whole family loved it!

Lambert's is an experience. I have been several times. The food is always good and the service is usually on par. Fun atmosphere with music but not loud enough you can't enjoy a conversation. Wait times can be long and pass around can be hit or miss, but they get it right the majority of the time.

Tasty southern style meal that will warm your soul! We got the chicken n' dumplings and bangers and mash. Service was prompt and we had the best rolls ever! The passed sides were rotated through at a steady pace. Lots of rolls were throw and hot for the recipient. Very country store and southern classic ambiance. Piano player was playing good tunes and giving birthday shoutouts. It was a good stop and we got leftovers to take home!

Doesn't get any better that thrower hot rolls and unlimited sides!? I'll help you answer, no! Staff is always super friendly, portion sizes are giant, prices are reasonable, and everything is delicious. The unique decor with license plates, antiques, and flags from around the US gives you plenty to look at while you eat. Great food and a fun time for adults and children alike, don't pass up the opportunity to experience Lamberts!

Popular roadside restaurant and RV Park! Easy on and off highway. Southern cooking and down home flavors. Unfortunately there was loose old food and torn sugar packets in the butter packet holder dish. Service was fantastic though and the food was okay. We loved the restaurant thrown baked rolls!

Stopped on a Sunday for early dinner on our way from Memphis to St Louis. Wait was about 1 hour but son really wanted to try this hyped up restaurant. Yes throwed rolls were fun, and pass around sides were good when we could get them -- only a few were circulating and the ones we really wanted didn't come out until we were packing up leftovers to take home. Special of the day 'chicken & stuffing' was 75% stuffing & gravy. I ordered it because nothing else on the regular menu sounded better for the prices listed. Steak was nothing special. It was served in a pan, which was an unnecessary waste of table space. Wouldn't go back.

Whenever my family travels through Missouri we have to stop at Lamberts. It is a lively restaurant with a down home, family feel. They are known for their throwed rolls because they literally throw them for you to catch. But if you aren't feeling adventerous, they will come by and hand one to you. You must bring your appetite when coming here. All of the portions are huge. I had salmon patties with green beans and beets as my side items. Everything was delicious. In addition to your entree, they come around with additional sides that they call "pass arounds". These include macaroni and tomatoes, fried potatoes and onions (my favorite), black eyed peas and fried okra. The menu has a lot of homestyle dishes like meatloaf, fried chicken, catfish, chicken and dumplings, pork chops, potpie just to name a few. Everytime I've come here I've never been disappointed. Super friendly staff and awesome food!

Lamberts Cafe is known as the home of "Throwed Rolls". Yes, they do have people with carts of yeasty rolls that will throw them to you. The service was good and the food excellent. Had the JLT (Hog Jowl Bacon in Texas toast with lettuce and tomato. If you are unfamiliar with it, it is thick cut from the jowls, has more fat than normal bacon but it is cooked crisp. It came with one side; I chose Turnip Greens which they served with hot pepper vinegar (Yes!) as they should. It was great. They also come around with free sides, all very good. Free sorghum honey and or apple butter, fried potatoes with onions, fried okra, and black eyed peas. Yes, servers would walk by and offer these sides so you should not leave hungry. They also have a gift shop. It is a destination place and fortunately the food is great. They do get busy so you may have to wait a little unless you beat the noon rush.

The food at Lambert's is not the quality it used to be! Candied yams were actually undercooked (slightly raw) sweet potatoes. The baked potatoes were lukewarm and must have been cooked yesterday. The chicken strips were way OVERCOOKED!!! Nout sure we will ever eat here again.

We stopped here today for the first time, I was all hyped up because I had been dying to try this place but never had the time to stop (Trucker) but today was different! We were seated right away, our waitress didn't seem to be in a good mood, she was just "Blah" she took our order and away she went, we seen her a total of 3 times, Food was over salted, I had pork chops (dry) Green beans (salty) Corn & carrots, the extras I had potatoes (salty) the best part of the meal was the Hot Rolls & the Ice tea! I did buy a cool tshirt to take home lol All in all...I was not impressed and probably will not stop again ‍

What a great lunch! We stopped while traveling and immediately were part of the family. There are many good choices, so everyone should be able to enjoy something that they're hungry for. We started with warm, fluffy rolls plus apple butter. Make sure to have your paper towel ready for rolls and fried okra before your lunch/dinner plates arrive. We had country fried round steak, chicken tenders, corn, carrots, & green beans. Servers walk around with fried okra, Mac & tomatoes, black eyed peas, and onions & potatoes. The potatoes & onions were saltier than I like, but everything tasted homemade & yummy. Servers are very attentive & helpful. It was definitely a meal to remember. Thanks, Lamberts!

As you walk up, you'd think that this place was just a small little mom and pop shop. But, it's far from that. It's a whole experience that you have to be in person to believe it. My son introduced us to this place 5 years ago. So, when we were driving through, we decided to stop in for a half dozen of rolls to go. Which, was a great call! Everyone was so kind, the gift shop was fun, and they had lots of local stuff. They also had a ton of fun treats to take home as a souvenir. Such as, shirts, pj's, candies, sodas, and more! It was incredible! Everything was sparkling clean. They were fast, and the rolls were hot, fluffy, and tasty! I loved getting to see them throw the rolls. It was so exciting! I wish that we had time to stop in for a good meal. But, unfortunately that wasn't the case. But, I will definitely be back! I can't wait to have the full experience next time.

Ask the Community - Lamberts Cafe

    Do they take reservations?

No, they do not take reservations. However, the restaurant is so large, you likely will only have a brief wait unless you're visiting with an unusually large group at a peak time.… Read more

How do they handle pass arounds when you get takeout?

You just let the server know what pass arounds you want and they'll put them in a Togo container for you

Can anyone tell me how good the frog legs are?

    Amazing!!!

How does this one compared to the one in Alabama? I love the one in Alabama.

Well I have never been to the one in Alabama. We have been to the other in Ozark and it's not as good we thought. Sikeston is da bomb. Fun, great staff and good food! Hope u get a chance to try it if up that way.
