We gave him the keys to the house and left it pretty much as she had, with dishes on the shelves in the kitchen and every closet and pantry full. He and his team sorted through eveything, created beautiful displays of her possessions, and recycled all the papers and even some of the older electronics. This is harder to put into words, but Kyle also honored my sister's memory. She was musician. She loved Porland. She loved the Beatles. He displayed her instruments, played Beatles music and had some photos of her around so people could see that this wasn't just "stuff" -- it was the cherished memories of a life well lived. Kyle gave a complete and prompt accounting of the sale and left the house beautifully cleaned, and sent us a lovely letter at the end along with a check. I attended the warehouse sale for liquidating the props and sets and costumes of Grimm. I can't…read moreeven imagine what it took to organize a sale that size; I have never seen one so large with that much product and it was so well organized!! Everyone was nice too. I wouldn't have blamed them if they were little crabby with everything going on, but everyone smiled and helped. My single complaint was similar to when you use to have to stand line to buy concert tickets (if you are old enough to remember that). The scalpers would sleep overnight to get at the first tickets, and merchant re-sellers are not so different. The average fan didn't stand a chance against people who could actually sleep there overnight with their trucks and teams of "grabbers". Once they went in and wiped out everything of worthy re-sale value, anything the average fan might want as a collectable, you still waited in line while they checked out tons of items, packed them into trucks, and trailers, and only then were the rabble allowed in to check out the cleaned off carcass of whatever was left behind. In this case there was tons of stuff left over, but the "novelty" item you could see in some of the pictures were completely wiped out. But I don't know what the company can do to stop this practice. Ticketmaster used to not let people line up til 2 hours before door opening, so no over nights, or gave out randomly number wristbands to scramble up the crowd. But I don't now how often a sale this size comes along anyway. Despite the disappointment of standing in line forever, without even a chance to just see some of the more interesting items, I am so impressed with company who handled this. It was truly impressive.

Need I say, once bitten by the 'home reduction' sales, it never leaves. At least not for me & my family. As so, I think we're qualified to make a reasonably good judgement about how this sale was handled. Everything from cleanliness, plenty of helpers, to very well marked prices, was evident from the moment we stepped in to the premises. Prices were fair & then marked down as expected on the last day. We purchased our 'must have' items on the first day & then, the next day, bought what we liked that was still there, if still there, we were supposed to have it. lol Thats some logic for you, but you know what I mean. The first day we took home a full car load & then had to return with the pickup truck for the rest. The second day, we stuffed the car to the point that I don't think we could have fit in another pair of socks! It was a truly wonderful, fun, time for us all & we're having such fun going through our 'loot'.
