We would occasionally make our way to the Ritz and Westin right next to it when we wanted a change of scenery or food. St Junes at the Ritz was our favorite lunch spot, but we did eat at the Westin pool restaurant a few times which was pretty good as well. In fact, my kids seemed to prefer to it to the Ritz. The pool area is fun. My kids always love a good swim up bar, especially when pina coladas (virgin of course for them) are involved. The lounge chairs aren't quite as comfortable as the Ritz, but i did enjoy an afternoon there. And the beach is right there. Red Sail Sports has a station there that hotel guests and other can rent water equipment from. My kids had a great time on the banana boat ride. It did feel like your typical Westin, but right in the middle of the beautiful Grand Cayman. Rates the week of Christmas were going for $1500/night/room, which I dont think is quite worth it based on what I saw, but I would consider staying here if the price was right since the location can't be beat.

As soon as I arrived in my room there was a large cockroach in my bathroom. The shower head was moldy! And no hot water the entire time! Oh also the toilet never flished properly and the toilet seat itself was broken despite several complaints. I tried reaching out to the hotel for weeks to resolve this as i feel entitled to a refund. Instead they insisted to give me 30,000 points which is pennies and sent me on my way! I am a Marriott Titanium Ellit Member and have been for several years. I am highly disappointed in this stay, Marriott, the Westin Brand, and the integrity of all parties involved. The house keeping was also sub par, our room was not cleaned daily as per the hotel policy.

From beginning to end, every staff member I encountered was wonderful, warm, professional, and made me feel so welcomed. We had a corner room that was lovely and Kayla had a sign and desserts waiting on us to celebrate my milestone in my travels. There is staff to set up towels on the chairs by the beach as well as the power. Each chair has an adjustable shade. It was easy to relax. The Ritz-Carlton Grand Cayman lives up to the brand and when I return, I will stay there again. Some of the staff that made memorable impressions: Munna at check-in Kayla - concierge Martin - beach George - front door Francisco - beach server Caolan - beach set up I had a great experience!

However, it was great being next to the Ritz because we would walk over for lunch and drinks (my kids said they had the best virgin pina coladas). We ate at St June's many times during our week long stay. It's a beautiful restaurant with tasty food and very slow service, but they were also extra busy for the holidays. My biggest pet peeve is not being able to get a lounge chair at a hotel pool, but it looked like there were plenty to choose from at the Ritz pools even during the week of Christmas. They have a few different pools, but the one facing the beach seemed to be the best one (from what i can tell). And the waterpark looked like something my kids would have been all about years ago. They do allow non members to use their tennis club for a fee. I took their cardio class 4 times and my daughter joined me (16+). We had 2 different instructors and I enjoyed both. There were a few too many warm up drills for my liking, but once we got in the games it was pretty fun. And it was fun meeting people from around the country who I got to know pretty well by the end of the week. The class itself is only 50 minutes, which i found to be the perfect amount of time to get your vacation day started...especially in the heat. And the best part was they have someone walking around picking up balls, which means more tennis for us! I'm not a golfer, but it looked like a nice golf set up to me. However, i had some major golfers in my tennis class who weren't thrilled with the golfing and were headed to another course in Grand Cayman. The location is right on 7 miles beach and in walking distance to so many restaurants. There's no need to rent a car and you can easily get taxi service too, although we found taxis to be very expensive. Overall, I found it to be a beautiful property. The prices over winter break were pretty steep and the cost of a room with 1 king bed was more than what we were paying for a gorgeous recently remodeled 3 bedroom condo. If i were going back to Grand Cayman with my entire family I'd opt for the Coral Stone Club again, but I would definitely consider staying here if it was just my husband and I...or the price was right for a suite (or 2 rooms) for my entire family.

Everyone was nice and the restaurant was cute and view was gorgeous! The food was ok. I got the fruit platter with cottage cheese and it had nice fresh fruit , I also got the breakfast quesadilla and it was good. My husband got the waffle and did not finish it, which is very unusual for him. He said it was tasteless and mushy. He wanted to order avocado toast but they were out of avocado! lol. As we were leaving another group was just being served their lunches and they looked and smelled amazing, so, maybe we just ordered wrong and or hit it at an off time. It's definitely still worth the stop for the cute little place and beautiful view!

There was no wait and the staff were prompt and very friendly. Drinks appeared quickly and when it came time for food everything was perfect. We started with conch fritters, not too crispy, not soft, just golden delicious balls of conch goodness. I had the curry grouper and found it perfectly cooked and seasoned. My son had a wahoo steak and it also was perfectly cooked and spectacularly seasoned. The plantain sides were not too starchy, slightly sweet and a good compliment to the meals.

3.5 The Veranda - Asado Night | Marriott Grand Cayman…read more Asado Night was an experience but it wasn't amazing...The service was outstanding, and Elaine truly went above and beyond to make our night special. I was hoping to see the meats cooked over the open grill. We started with the sweet bread--soft, buttery, and perfectly cooked. (It's made from cow throat, which surprised me, but the texture and flavor were incredible.) The sea bass had a beautifully crispy skin and was topped with a vibrant chimichurri sauce. It was more smoky than buttery, and the cut came out long and slender compared to the thicker portions I've had elsewhere--but still very flavorful. The cowgirl steak was the star: great marbling and cooked a perfect medium. Juicy, tender, and exactly what you want from an Asado night. The rosemary potatoes were surprisingly delicious--crispy, well-seasoned, and packed with flavor. Drinks were just as good: * Kentucky Mule - strong but well balanced * Gaucho Martini - refreshing with lemon and watermelon notes We finished with an apple tart. It tasted good but would have been even better if it came out hot to counter the cold ice cream. I was expecting a hot apple pie right out the oven but was slightly disappointed. The vibe was amazing, especially watching the sunset from our seats. Due to heavy winds, the torch lights were out so it was a little darker than usual--but it didn't take away from the atmosphere. They also had live music.
