I came to Cayman as a last minute vacation and selected Marriott on 7 Mile Beach just because I'm a Bonvoy member. Coming during hurricane season allowed for a great rate for the room. I used the hotels SUV limo service but really didn't need it as the airport is very low key off season but the experience with the driver was great and made the way to the hotel very relaxing. Upon arrival the door man and desk staff was very nice. The room was very clean and smelled great. The hotel is done in The Summer House theme and has a great vibe. The view from the room still allowed me to see the ocean and was a great spot to sit and chill. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The pool area is nice with a great view but if here in the high season it might be a little small to accommodate everyone. Lots of local activities and water sports. There is an extra daily resort fee I'd rather was just built into the nightly room cost so you know what you are actually paying a night. The food at Anchor and Den was fantastic!! We ate out and about a lot to get the local flavor but never felt like we were missing out eating in the hotel. The doorman was really good at help get to last minute activities for a fair price. I highly recommend this hotel and pretty sure i will be back.

    Moldy ceiling

I needed to do a workout after a morning of travel to the Grand Cayman but smelled the mold as soon as I opened the door to the Marriott's fitness center. I don't think anyone should do a workout breathing in all the mold spores. I reported the very unhealthy fitness center conditions to the front desk, let's see when this gets addressed. 12/14

Beautiful hotel on 7 mile beach . Rooms are spacious and balconies are perfect to sit out at night or clearly morning . Loved everything about the hotel , the gift shop , the restaurants and pool and services offered . Staff was amazing and can't wait to visit again

This was a nice hotel located next to the awesome restaurant called Peppers, walking distance to Cabana Bay and other tasty spots like Craft and Scoops! Met some nice folks at the hotel both staff and hotel dwellers. Had fairly good service at the hotel restaurants, sometimes very slow. Once we were served dinner before our drinks which was a bit strange. Sunday brunch was probably when we had the best service-- our glasses were never empty and I got a surprise piece of bday cake! This is something you must get reservations for-- dooo itt! So much fun!! There is also a live DJ! If you want seating on the beach, there is a small strip of beach with limited lounge chairs, but there are tons of chairs by the pool. (Check out the Westin for more beach sitting space). There is also a jacuzzi if you want to soak in some heat! The ocean is beautiful and there is great snorkeling off the hotel. There are a lot of protected reef out there! I had a marvelous time at the spa for a massage. Emily was incredible!! This hotel is great for the location!! It's sad that the beach is disappearing due to erosion. I'll definitely come back to Grand Cayman, but may check out a different hotel for some variety!

This is the view from the patio restaurant/bar seating.

The Marriott Beach Resort has everything you need except a beach. Erosion has washed the beach away so you really do get an ocean front view from the patio bar. All but one of the stairs to the sea are roped off. I did walk south to the last open stairway to get into the sea and snorkel. There really isn't anything worth seeing. The resort staff will do everything in their power to cater to your every need and while some may want that level of attention, I don't. You are paying a pretty penny to stay here but I personally don't see the draw. If you want immediate beach access you should look elsewhere.

A beautiful hotel with the friendliest staff Very nice pool area which was a bit crowded throughout the day. Having simple things such as aloe and sunscreen available was really handy. Friendly staff to help move umbrellas and help find vacant chairs as needed. We loved eating food from Vista Bay (the pool bar) while sitting inside of Veranda restaurant. The food was steller including the coconut shrimp, burger, mahi wrap, and lemonade. Such friendly wait staff Beach, if you are looking for a place with a beach this is not the place for you. Even the access to the water they have is scary as it's steep and rocky. Overall a nice place, pricy... but welcome to the Caymans where necessities come at a cost!

Ate at the ocean front Verdana restaurant. Menu could be approved and offer more of a selection. Beautiful view and amazing service.

The public areas were lovely withe exception of dj music over the top loud loud loud and you can't escape the food smells that surround the main lobby and veranda, pool area. Strange setup. Loved loved loved the garden area with turtles in a water feature. Our room on the 3rd floor needs serious deep cleaning and some maintenance. Very uncomfortable bed.

I loved my stay here. Would definitely stay here again. 1. Beach: I think this hotel has the nicest beach front on seven mile. I walked along the seven mile beach and the other beach areas that pertained to other hotels/timeshares didn't seem as appealing as the section in front of this hotel. 2. Chairs: I did see a review complaining about the chairs. When I went (3/9/22 - 3/15/22) the hotel was supposedly at about 20% capacity. So I never had an issue getting a chair since the hotel wasn't at capacity. But I could see this being a huge issue if the hotel was busier, especially since at times they have to remove the chairs that are on the beach due to the tides. 3. Spa: I got a deep tissue massage and also signed up for the reiki session. A Yelp user had raved about the reiki session, but it was nothing special, skip it. On the other hand, the massage was one of the best ones that I've had, and I get a ton of massages, and everywhere. 4. Room. My room was the oceanfront, balcony. Wouldn't do anything else. Loved being able to sit in the balcony, hearing the waves as soon as I woke up and falling asleep to the sound of the waves. Wasn't too happy with the water pressure in the shower, but no other complaints. 5. Food. You don't ever have to leave the hotel. They had two restaurants opened when I went. Anchor & Den, and Vista Bar. Both were great - separate reviews for those. 6. Staff. The staff was super friendly. Very clean and nicely decorated. Miss being there!

We spent my birthday at the Marriott Grand Cayman Beach Club and we couldn't have picked a better spot. The hotel is lovely and the resort fee gets you tons of nice extras such as free snorkel masks, daily activities and treats like cotton candy and snow cones at the pool and s'mores at night - great spot for kids and couples. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They remember your name the next day which blew me away. Highly recommend the Wednesday Lobster night dinner at the oceanfront restaurant! The sand at the beach was washed away with the hurricane last fall but the resort has made arrangements to have another beach location available for guest if you want the sandy beach experience like we did! We really liked enjoyed our stay.

How have i not left a review for this place yet? That's right....I'm selfish and want to keep it to myself. First off....shout outs to the amazing staff: Stephanie and Cate for getting me into a new room after the horrendous noise on the left side of the resort (avoid staying in this wing if you want peace and quiet). Between the public beach access and the noise from the hotel next door i was not getting any sleep. These two all stars got me into a new room asap. Cate also helped me out on my last day and was able to suggest attractions within my time restraints and did not disappoint. Neil - what an incredibly generous and humble human being. He was my server while i was out at the beach and my date was getting a massage. Yes, you get served food on the beach and its amazing. Neil and i chatted at length and then one day my date was at the beach without me and had a similar experience with him. Thankfully we ended up with him as our server for dinner our last night and really got to tip him heavy. He remembered both of us and didn't forget one detail. I hope I land Neil as a server every time as he was such an integral part to my last experience here. Patrick - How many times have you forgot something at a hotel and not been able to retrieve it? My date bought an expensive bag from the hotel and it got left in the cab. Not only did Patrick track down the cab, but he found the bag and found a way to get it back to me (at my expense of course). My date was incredibly sad when she realized at the airport that she lost the bag but you should have seen her face when she opened it up for Christmas and couldn't figure out how in the world I was able to get it back. Thanks again Patrick. You came through in the clutch! If you haven't got the gist of it yet, this hotel really takes care of its customers. I have stayed here twice and after this trip i am just understanding how to fully utilize their services and explore Grand Cayman. The hotel has a shuttle that runs in a giant circle every hour that you can take for free! Pay attention to the informational items they provide you upon check in and in your room. I had no idea about the shuttle until I looked through everything. There is also a water taxi you can take from one of the stops to Rum Point that Cate told us about. Very awesome experience. Though i think the resort fee is high, i am finding that a lot of hotels around the world don't provide you with nearly as many amenities for your buck. You get access to wifi, snorkeling gear (mask, snorkel, fins), paddle boards, lilly pads, tiny catamaran, go pro's, and some other items i cant remember off the top of my head. The food is amazing. Hands down some of the best food I have ever had and everything tastes so fresh. The hotel has events almost every night. Whether its making smores over a bon fire, a flamenco dancer, or all you can eat lobster, you can count on something going on almost every day. Worried about the noise associated with this? Don't be. They have doors in each hallway that they close that drowns out the sound. So if you don't want to partake and just want to read a book in bed, you absolutely can. I love the location of this place. There are a lot of restaurants in walking distance if you ever want to leave. Peppers is right across the street and has the best jerk chicken i have ever had in my life. I watched the sun set at the bar outside almost every night. I think you head down around 5:30 or 6:30 in order to grab a table beach side to watch the sun set. Get the picture yet? You really don't need to leave unless you want to. I cant say enough about this place or the staff. I had such an amazing time and wish i had more time off to go back. Ill see y'all again around the same time this year!

i loved my stay here so much! i would recommend this place to anyone who comes and visits! rooms were absolutely beautiful and all the staff were soo amazing everyone was very friendly and helpful! the food and drinks here were amazing! pool area at hotel was beautiful!! they serve you drinks while you lay out in the sun and bring you food! they had lots of fun activities to do in the daytime! literally everytime i come to cayman i am coming here because i loved it so much!

I am very pleased at my stay at the Marriot, this is my second time at the Grand Caymans. The theme of this hotel is just healthy living- organic type as well as the environment of their restaurants and The Spa which I highly recommend. Best massage ever! The only down points of this hotel is that there is hardly any beach and everyone is crowded, the pool is also small. Didn't see many kids either which made it perfect for relaxing. Definitely not a kids hotel to my opinion. Another amazing things at this hotel is their service and their food. They have a great buffet in the morning, and juice bar. I Highly recommend the lobster tacos and their ceviche.

The additional space would have been nice for two adults and their furry friend. It was still a great room with an awesome view of the dunes and water. Check in was terrific. The lobby is beautiful and stocked for a quick whatever you might want. There is a backyard behind the lobby that is sheltered from those pesky ocean breezes with firepit, tables, chairs and other stuff. Nice touch. Our room was spotless. The bathroom was very nice. Clean and let me say that the shower was fantastic. There is a heater/fan in the bathroom that made getting out of the shower, pleasantly warm. Toiletries are of nice quality. Our dog, Sian found the stick library very useful and she had a blast going after it on the beach and in the ocean. She even brought it back to the library the morning we left, for others to use during their stay. The pet welcome is a nice touch. This site is very pet friendly. Not so much for the timeshares that are on the same property. And that's fine. Parking is not allowed at the units. You are driven to your unit by one of the great golf cart drivers. Zach was our driver. Loaded all our luggage on to the the cart. As we journeyed to our cottage, Zach pointed out sites as well as amenities. Unloaded our luggage as wll as went and got us ice as we settled in. If you need help getting to your car, onsite restaurant or the lobby, just call the lobby about 10 minutes before you want to go and someone will be there. The restaurant is great. We ate there twice and had breakfast delivered to our unit twice. The bread platter... OMG... the bread platter. We loved it so much that we went to Otto's bakery in Salinas on our way out of town to bring it home with us. The restaurant is not open for breakfast but, at check in, you will get a room service menu that that's how you can have breakfast onsite. More on the restaurant in that review... Can't wait to go back. Have to say that overall, this is probably in our top 3 of vacation spots. Including Hawaii. It's just great.

We paid around $1,000 for one night, so I arrived excited and expecting something special. Unfortunately, our experience was the opposite. Many of the pet-friendly touches that influenced me to book were missing at check-in. There was no personalized dog welcome setup, no dog package, and my dog's name was not on the welcome sign until I called later. I had also requested a simple welcome card for my mother-in-law's first trip to California, and although staff said they would gladly do it, it was never done. We also had multiple room issues throughout the stay. The TV was not working, the phone buttons to reach the front desk did not work, there was no extra pillow for the fold-out bed, and there was even a leftover dog chew from a previous guest found in the bed. To be fair, the maintenance employee was kind and helpful, and the complimentary bottle of wine was appreciated. However, for this price point, the lack of attention to detail and overall service was really disappointing. What upset me most was checkout. I politely explained that I was disappointed and thought at minimum the pet fee might be removed, but there was no effort to make things right beyond emailing the receipt. Beautiful location, but the experience did not match the cost or reputation. I truly wanted to love this stay and left sad and let down instead.

Location: beautiful breathtaking views tucked away in a mountain valley, it is a perfect spot to get away from the hustle and bustle from city noise pollution and high populations. Customer service: there are only 1-2 check in desks, where they spend about 10-20 minutes with each customer explaining the property amenities, location of room, events, etc. when you've been traveling all day, every minute feels like a lifetime. Restaurant: there is only one full service, sit in restaurant that gets booked very fast especially for dinner. Plan ahead and make a reservation in advance for every night you plan to stay on campus and eat there, otherwise, expect to wait until 8 pm or drive to the nearby restaurants which include a Subway, pizza joint, or a small Vietnamese restaurant. Earthbound Organic Farm is a great alternative option for a small breakfast or lunch bites. There is another Mexican restaurant nearby. Clientele in the mornings consist of rowdy children and their inconsiderate parents. I recommend asking to be seated outside if you have well mannered children and want to eat in peace. Rooms: mediocre clean. For being a Hyatt affiliated hotel, I had higher expectations, rooms are carpeted with wooden floors and heavy rugs. This resort is pet friendly so if you have someone in the family that suffers from allergies or has a very sensitive nose, this is not the best place to stay. As most Californian hotels that have carpeting, you can smell odors in the carpeting and linen. When things got hot and humid in our room, I got a nice whiff of dog. Basically any pet friendly hotel means that your linens will be washed with dog poo or other animal fluids. Rooms are only dusted at eye level but if you're someone that is concerned about dust mites, be prepared to get a showering of dust mites on bed, where the headboards reach 6' high and hold lots of lovely layers of dust. Coffee pot is sad and comparable to a motel 6 version with blah coffee, and lastly the beds are super firm with no ability to adjust (like other Hyatt holidays offer), and pillows are huge and uncomfortable. Foam alternative is slightly softer but still too high for a back sleeper or stomach sleeper. Bathroom: limited. They do provide tiny handwashing bars of soap made of lavender, and provide a tiny sample sac of lavender salt to use in tub but for those with allergies, best to request an alternative if any. Shower corners contain black mold. Refrigerators: our room had a tiny refrigerator that could hardly fit anything and doesn't cool sufficiently so for those moms packing extra healthy snacks for your kids, consider your fridge useless. All the strawberries, yogurts and hummus we purchased made it straight to the trash. Room patio: dirty and useless. There was a couple of upholstered seats and one table on our patio that could not be enjoyed as they were filled with dirt, dust and leaves. Would I stay here again? No - due to the pet issue for me. Most Californians love their pets and don't mind staying in places that wreak of dog butts that they've habituated to. Like I said, my husband had good intentions but there were too many issues that made it undesirable for me.

We stayed in the newer Boathouse, in the Castaway Room on the right end, ground floor. The privacy and quiet were fantastic! The couples shower feels amazing and overlooks the river. We saw lots of birds and a gorgeous sunset and sunrise colors. Nature sounds enveloped us, as well as the sage fragrance of the garden. The bed was super comfortable, good support, and new. The center room looked like it had slightly more view and the bed was lower to the floor. Being on the end gave us more privacy and zero noises from other rooms. We liked being higher off the ground because we could see a little farther from there. The caretakers came on site to take care of the gardens and kitchen and checked in with us to make sure our stay was flawless. The main building is an old historic building and garden so expect quaint and period details. The nautical artifacts were amazing. There is a fantastic coffee shop called The Power Plant 5 minutes away for coffee, smoothies, avocado toast, beer and snacks, so we didn't mind having just the basic coffee and tea in the room. For us, the quiet, the views, the energy and location were perfect! If you stay at Captain's Inn, you can walk to the coffee shop, visit the shops in town, eat at the fantastic marina fresh seafood restaurants, and walk to the two touring places that take you to see the otters on kayak. We used Kayak Connect with was great, very easy and great guides. This is the closest and best place to stay to see the otters.

There's two levels of rooms at this hotel with some in the main building (decent views) or the back house (amazing views) and our room was fortunately in the latter, but did cost extra. The Good: *Amazing views of the Salinas River hugging the edge of the ocean from the back rooms. *Community Patio deck to enjoy *Contactless check-in where they email you the door code the day-of. *HDTV w/ full compliment of channels *Keurig-like coffee maker in room *Fireplace for heat and romance The Meh: *They claim there's food in the main building for breakfast, but all we found were old expired granola bars. *I guess if you want a bottle of some alcohol waiting for you in your room, then you can let them know at least a day in advance--but ofc they don't tell you this until the *day of.* We spoke to another guest who had the same beef, but it's whatever I guess. *Wifi was abysmally slow but Carissa was able to stream a show before she went to bed, so put that in your pipe and smoke it. *Back house rooms have bathtubs only and we're not fans...0_o The Ugly: *Bed was incredibly rock hard and elevated 2' into the air so you need a stepstool to get on and off. My back was in shambles the next day. Conclusion: Honestly the views are almost worth coming back here for despite all the complaints, but the terrible bed would have me thinking twice...

It was spacious and comfortable. As others have noted, the stairs are a bit steep but we had no issues with it. The downside of the property is that it feels quite impersonal. You check in like you would at an AirBnB rental. There is ostensibly an innkeeper on site but we never met (nor needed) them. There were also some difficulties getting our reservation payment process finalized. Even though we reserved via Booking.com, the property uses their own system and the information did not coordinate well. It took multiple messages back and forth with a remote service center before things got squared away. Knowing what i know now, I would just book direct if the rates aligned. BOTTOM LINE: A nice choice at a memorable but slightly quirky property. We would stay here again.

We will be back, for sure.

We were in the Cat House and hearing the cats like they were right outside was pretty cool. They can noisy at night so bring earplugs! Based on the website, photos, and overall marketing, we believed animal encounters would be a significant and memorable part of the experience. Unfortunately, the reality did not match those expectations. The included animal encounter consisted of only two very small animals and lasted just a couple of minutes. While the animals themselves were cute, the experience felt extremely brief and underwhelming compared to what we were led to expect before booking. I feel like they very small animals (a ferret, really?) and very short duration were meant to be a teaser to get you to spend the additional $600 to see some bigger animals. That should have been communicated UP FRONT, so we were not led to believe we were getting a better animal experience. It was a bit of bait and switch.

They took great care of us. Francesca the manager was so helpful so nice and treated us like family. We are very grateful to have met her and got to know her. They had an indoor pool. And a Jacuzzi and it was nice and warm. Their gym was pretty spacious as well very beautiful looking. They also had a place where you can do your laundry if need be. Overall, our experience was amazing. We will definitely be going back thank you guys so much for everything again.

Unfortunately it wasn't the service I expected to receive from a Hilton property…read more Upon arriving at 3pm for check-in, we were advised the room was not ready and check-in is now 4pm. That was a bit frustrating as we have a 10-month old we just drove with for a couple hours. Either way, we went a couple blocks down the road and had some pizza while we waited for the room. Now for the room, when we arrive, the door to the full-size refrigerator was open. Therefore, the refrigerator was not cold at all and the groceries we brought would have to stay in the cooler until the refrigerator became cold enough. Upon my investigation, when the door to the hotel room opens, the handle briefly attaches to the door of the refrigerator, pulling that open as the heavy room door shuts. Voila - Sherlock Holmes has cracked the case! HA! Bathroom - a couple of issues here; the Water pressure - there was none! Also, there was no bathtub for the baby which we requested a room with a bathtub. Let's talk space and beds. It had two queen-sized beds, room was spacious enough for us 3 adults and baby. There was a couch which pulled out into a sleeper. Comfortable? NOT IN THE LEAST! The mattress on both beds seemed like they were a decade old and all you could feel were the springs, no soft comfort. The bed nearest the window loss it's springiness as you just sank right into the middle. Whoa! But I guess if you like super sinking springy beds, this would be to your liking. The kitchenette; you'll have to ask for a hot plate if you want to cook in your room. At first we were looking everywhere for it, because they don't mention upon check-in that they need to actually give one to you upon request. Also, the microwave above the sink was not working at all. No power at all, and upon our attempts to reach Yessenia at the front desk for assistance, they never picked up. So, again, Sherlock Holmes to the case and with the use of the ottoman to climb upon and check above the cabinetry, we found the appliance was not plugged in. Sheesh, these guys are making me work for my stay. Sherlock solves another case at this location. The pool area could be smelled from the hallway downstairs; I understand the use of chlorine, but whew it was strong. The pool was fine, not heated but not freezing. The hot tub had so much bubbles I wasn't sure what was going on in there, I did not attempt to make use of it. The bbq grill outside for use was nice, however, they do not clean it, so clean it yourself before use. Also, the bbq cooking utensils are also used by other guests, so again, be mindful of what you're cooking with. Breakfast is from 6am-9am in the morning and it was okay. They offer three types of cereal, boiled eggs, there's a waffle maker, bagels, muffins, toast, oatmeal, usually a type of protein (bacon, chicken, or sausage), and biscuits. They have regular milk, almond, and oat milk, as well as juice, coffee, and tea. I recommend not going too late because they will not make anymore food by the 8:30 mark. The woman said, no that's it, just what's left - which was cold eggs, waffle, and muffins. Yikes! Oh, also this is not a baby friendly place. There are outlets all over the place that are not guarded. Just a helpful hint for parents out there. Unfortunately the check-out process with Yessenia was not great. She appeared to be annoyed with a customer before me and continued on with me. I advised her that the customer service she was providing was not how a person in her position should be acting. Maybe she was having a bad day, but if that's the case, take a break and switch out with someone else. So would I stay here again, definitely not. Paying nearly $500 for this type of service and room is not worth it.
