This hotel is in a busy area with several hotels and a lot of traffic. There is an old style motor inn that is directly in front of this hotel. There was a lot of loud talking and some yelling in the parking lot at night. Also some loud motorcycles and vehicles. Not sure what was going on but it was definitely too loud for late at night when people were trying to sleep. This hotel is definitely due for a renovation. The carpet is old, especially in the hallway. My room is in the fifth floor so maybe the other floors are better. The elevator is small and makes odd noises. The towels are thin and the sheets are very old. Lighting in the room was poor. I wasn't planning to do any work on my laptop in the room tonight, this was simply a shower and sleep stay, but if I had planned to work, the lighting was dim. I had been looking forward to a nice hot shower but the water never got very hot. Even after letting it run for a long time it never got past warm. The front desk employees weren't rude or unfriendly, but they weren't especially welcoming. When I checked out the employee just said, "Do you need a receipt?" He didn't ask about my stay, or thank me, or wish me a good morning or safe trip. The lobby tea was clean. There was a computer and printer on a counter that served as a business center for guests. This was my first stay at this hotel as I usually stay at either Alachua or Ocala,. Next time I'll keep driving a little longer for a nicer hotel.

The room was clean and ready for me. Plenty of room to spread out. I plugged in my stuff, unpacked and after a bit of their wifi, I was asleep. It was a quiet night as this property is a block or two away from the highway and on a dead end, so there was absolutely no road noise and I did not have any hallway or neighbor noise as well despite the nearly full parking lot. No kids tonight, I suppose. An early morning, I was up and out at 5:15, well before breakfast was available but I did snag a cup of coffee to get me started. It gave us a bed and a bathroom and even had a coffee maker and fridge. The night clerk was very pleasant. She also took care of setting out the breakfast options. The breakfast was a pastry and granola bar in a bag and options for grits or oatmeal. They had options for smoking and non-smoking rooms. I would definitely stay here again if I just need a quick bed for the night.
