I was not impressed with the gel nail. The manicurist did not take her time to care for my nails. She was in a hurry though there were no waiting clients. She massaged my shoulders and that got her a good tip. It was refreshing to be with them and the two ladies were not speaking their language and insulting customers. They were professional in that regard. If I can't find a decent place, I may return and try the other lady before I write the place off. read more

I was given a gift card a couple of years ago for Christmas. On several occasions I have tried to use the card only to be told it is a different owner now so they wont except it. They told me to go to the location in Marlborough, they would except it. They will not, the card has the 11st address on it therefore they will not redeem it for services. When purchasing a business you purchase previous gift cards that were sold to clients as well. Horrible service, and unlawful. read more

Instead of a smooth manicure, I was left with lumpy polish, and only 2 days later my shellac nails are already cracking and peeling off. Decided at the last minute to get a mani/pedi before my trip to Europe and thought the salon inside of the new Walmart at Deerfoot Meadows would be worth trying. I made an appointment and got a sitter for my son. I showed up on time for the appointment and stood at the desk. One of the employees yelled over, what do you want? Said I had an appointment. Another employee yelled over that I should come back in 30 minutes. I asked if this were the case even if I had an appointment? My sitter only had 1.5 hours so time was a bit tight. The second employee came over and said ok you have an appointment, go pick your colours. So I did that and then just stood there. Eventually someone suggested I sit down in a chair. Another of the employees eventually started filling the water and I said, well I'm not going to proceed if I'm just going to sit here in the water for 30 minutes. And I asked if there was actually someone to do the mani/pedi. That was when they said the employee (who they called manager) was missing and was the one who booked my appointment. One woman tried to call but then said she couldn't remember the manager's number. So I just sat there. The male employee repeatedly said the manager went to the bathroom of times. The client next to me (who'd booked an appointment too) was being ignored in favour of a walk in client. It was pretty bad. After 30 minutes of waiting I left as there was no hope of getting back to my sitter in time. I told one of the employees that maybe the manager could call me. The "manager" did call me and left a message apologising saying they were short staffed and she had to meet with the owner instead of taking my appointment. So not quite sure how that works but I guess the owner doesn't really want to make money but chat with employees. They welcomed me back to have another appointment. I called back saying I wouldn't return without a free mani/pedi as staffing issues not my issue and they'd wasted my time and I had to pay for a sitter, which isn't that easy for me to arrange. I was told by another employee that they had no manager, no receptionist and that the owner would call me. No call received. I'd avoid. This place is down market and disorganised. Who knows what other issues exist. It's zero stars from me. read more

This nail place doesn't live up to what you can typically expect at one of these nail salons. I stopped here today with out an appointment wanting a manicure and a pedicure. They asked me to come back in 20 minutes. No problem this place is in Walmart and I had a couple things to pick up. I returned 20 minutes later. They were ready for me; a nice hot pedicure foot tub was waiting for me. I sat down in the chair and ended up waiting another 30 minutes before anyone started my pedicure. While I was waiting 2 ladies who said they had book appointments were asked to come back in 20 minutes. By the time the staff started my pedicure my foot bath was barely warm and she proceeded to speed through my pedicure and manicure! It took less than 25minutes for her to give me a manicure and pedicure! However she was so sloppy putting on the nail polish that and sitting and letting the polish dry for 20 minutes it wasn't drying smooth and I had to ask for the polish to be taken off and reapplied. Which they did but without any base coat or top coat!! What a waste and I spent way more time waiting than anything else. I realized these nail salons aren't spa service but this place is well below the quality if service I've received at other similar places. Won't be returning. read more

Very friendly staff and a great owner! Although they kept talking a different language it felt good to be around a different environment. but after wards they kept you good company and did a great job on my nails! although they didn't do well on my first visit I gave them a second chance and they didn't disappoint me one bit! For first imprestion they don't do well but trust me once you get to know them you will love them! Decided to take a friend to get a pedicure as a birthday gift, as she had never had one before. We decided to use the Regal Nails, in Walmart @ Deerfoot Meadows. What a mistake that was. I wished that I had time to check reviews before booking an appointment...otherwise I would of chosen somewhere else. We arrived early, because they are always busy and running late (these types of places usually are). Our appointment was for 1:30 pm on a Friday, got there at 1 pm to see if we might slip in early...voila...nadda soul in sight-yeah we're in early, out early. Well, we got in right away, and were given the boot out the door 15 minutes later!! Holy Smokes...they rushed us through our pedicure so fast I feel cheated. Both of the women doing our pedicures kept making comments/small talk to each other in their language and laughing...then looking at us. Well, laugh all you want girls, you won't see the bottoms of our feet in there again. Very sloppy job of applying the nailpoish, I notice today that I have red stab marks under my nails from gouging out under the nail. She cut my nails too short and didn't really file them to get the edges off. This place is definately a zero (0) rating. I feel that I cheated my girlfriend out of a 'proper' pedicure, and I will have to make good on a 'rain check' birthday pedicure for her...I'll go back to MERLE NORMANS any day, they are are more expensive, but you get your moneys worth and the pampering. $35 a pedi, waste of money. Just read the last review, and really couldn't let it stand. While I would be upset if that happened to myself. I have been going to Regal Nails at Deerfoot Meadows for about 2 years now, and have never ever been disappointed. I find the staff, sweet, funny and always wanting to please if at all possible. The girls do a nice job on your nails-but be prepared to wait. I used to go to this salon all the time but grew tired of always waiting. I gave them a second try today. My appt was for 4:30 after 15 minutes she says 10 minutes more. I can tell that where she at its not going to be 10 minutes. I left went and somewhere else. I can tell by the number of girls working they must be losing business - they used to have alot more staff. Perhaps the owners should hang around once in a while and see what goes on. I asked for a contact # for either of them but they would not give it to me. If you you have 2 hours to waste - SURE get your nails done here. If you have a life go somewhere else. read more

I went here to get a basic single color manicure for my return to work. When I got there, i was sat down with only 1 other person in the store. They had overbooked themselves and weren't able to keep up with the work load. The job they did was sloppy and lumpy. At one point I had cotton from the cloth stuck in the polish and she told me to leave it and she painted over it. Then she added art to my nails, and I said I only wanted plain gray, and she said "No, No". She then charged me $10 extra for three lines on my nails. When I went to pay, she kept pulling my card out before it went through so I had to pay cash. She tried to take a bigger tip by not giving me my change. My husband had a pedi and I had a mani/pedi on Tuesday Jan 17/17 and my mani was the worst one I've ever had in my entire life. The pedis were not bad. I had a split nail and asked if putting on tip would help it heal. She said yes. So we did it. I asked again and a customer sitting there there said no it wouldn't. The girl said no as well that she made a mistake. WHAT!! She then said she would take the money for the tip off and never did! That place is only out for the money and customer service be damned. The price. for shellac was told to me to be $15 and I was charged $20. Never will I go to another Regal Nails and everyone out there considering going there should be careful. I've been to this location of Regal Nails a few times now and have never had any issues with being ignored or treated with anything less than respect. In fact, I think the pedicure I received the last time I was there was just about the best one I've ever had. I also would give 0 stars if possible for the Deerfoot Meadows Regal Nails (in Walmart). I first went the summer of 2011 and was quite happy- went with 2 girlfriends as part of a wedding party. Had a good time, staff were great, pedicures went well. At that time there appeared to be a man managing things (he also did my pedicure and did a good job), they were fully staffed and everything felt under control. With this experience in mind, I rebooked for a friend and I in July 2012. Even though I booked us a time, they were understaffed when we arrived. My friend's pedicure went ahead on time, but I sat with my feet in tepid water for about 20 min before being served. When I was served, the girl was in such a rush that she was frankly dangerous. She cut one of my toes with the cuticle clippers and could not get it to stop bleeding. The strange thing was she did not apologize or even acknowledge what had happened. Shortly after, she scraped my heels with the razor blade file (which I think is against health code and looks to be prohibited on the Regal Nails general website). She basically took chunks out of my heels, at which point I asked her to stop touching me. She also was so splashy with the water during the pedicure that she had gotten my skirt and shoes wet. When I said I wanted to stop the pedicure, she was completely belligerent and said she would still charge me. I pointed to my still bleeding toe and said there was no way I was paying- she had cut me, I was still bleeding, there were chunks of skin missing out of my heels, and my clothes and shoes were wet. She just yelled at me in vietnamese until I dried off, collected my things and left. Another woman who worked there told me not to worry about it and gave me a bandaid for my toe. It was a totally upsetting and bizarre experience. I've had tons of pedicures over the years, at both cheap and fancy places, and I've never had an experience like that. I think the service at this place is just too hit and miss to risk it again. I'm still stunned that I got no acknowledgement that what had happened was a problem, and that I was told I must pay- while I had a visibly bleeding toe, and the pedicure was barely started. This is THE WORST nail place I ever went. Last time I finished shopping at Walmart and just dropped in there, I asked one of the girl if they have time to do my Manicure, she said YES then she asked the other girl to do it for me where my nightmare started....this girl kept pushing me to pick a color or do shellac instead of just basic manicure. At the end I decided to put on nail polish besides basic manicure so I have to spend some time to choose a color right? While I was deciding it seemed more customers coming into the store then this girl was so RUDE saying that:" you cannt pick so many colors, we have other customers....we cannot serve yourself....blahblahblah........" she was so loud and other customers all starred at me which made me so embarrassed....then immediately I left the store (of course paid first NO TIPS). I went in for a manicure & pedicure about a month ago, with beautiful long natural nails and when it was time to remove the shellac I discovered I had a terrible fungal infection, my nails are a mess and have broken off 1/2 way down my nail bed. My doctor said it was from the salon not cleaning their instruments properly. I went back to the salon to talk to them about it and they were so rude and stated I should go and check out my health as it was never from them. I wasn't asking for anything from them I just wanted them to take responsibility and to double check their instruments better. I paid $114 for the pedicure -manicure and now I have to put out $160 for the first bout of medication to fix the problem-(my doctor says it can take up to 6 months or more to fix this). DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE DO YOUR NAILS UNLESS YOU KNOW THEY ARE USING BRAND NEW FILES ON YOU!!!! My hands look deformed, I'm so upset with how they dealt with the issue. Yes they did a beautiful manicure & pedicure but what I have to go through now is certainly not worth it! A very irresponsible attitude is all I got from these guys...not even worried how terrible my nails are now. read more

7 years of getting shellac manicures I know what to expect during a manicure. There were no color samples to pick from, I had to quess by looking at bottles for what the color actually looks like. The lady was in such a rush she used the dremel to remove color, crookedly cut then filed (literally 15 seconds for both hands) my nails, pretended to push back cuticle, and trimmed max 3 cuticles from both hands. I was beyond worried at this point as I could tell she was carelessly rushing. She applied the base layer gel which bubbled on both hands then proceeded to put color over top. It was already bubbling, if she had been looking at what she was doing this would have been caught. I asked her to stop, I will pay for the shellac removal, and I will take my business elsewhere. They tried to have another lady finish, but I was not interested at this point. They then tried to charge me for a 'manicure' which I said absolutely not, as this had not been done. The lady came up, got in my face, yelled at me, grabbed the phone and said she was calling 911! Why was I made out to be the criminal here? After refusing to leave, re demanding they charge me for a hack color removal another lady came to her senses and took my payment. NEVER GO HERE! Worst experience of my life read more
