The children are always laughing and happily playing here It's a joy to pass by and hear all the giggles laughter squeals and screams of happy children running around I used to bring my nephews here but they are grown young teenagers now I would always bring with me hand sanitizer gel and wipes to disinfect little dirty hands Along with bandaids and Neosporin for minor cuts and abrasions Plus fresh up wipes to clean those little faces and hands There are no public bathrooms available so make sure everyone goes before arriving at the park and bring all your essentials that you may need Many times I would bring my own chair to sit in since it is a small place with very limited seating In summer month I would bring a mini ice chest with cold water lemonade fruit punch packets I always carried snacks as well too They get hungry running around and there is no vending machines available I would also bring hand towels to wet down their faces to cool off from the heat and clean up It's an excellent little neighborhood park for the neighborhood children It rests on a corner lot Parking is limited

I did see a couple of coffee shops on my way to this park, but other than that I don't see hordes of people coming over here to this area. I would say you are better off not coming across the river and just go to the 3rd floor of the Riverwalk Mall and let your children play in the indoor play area. There is a nice food court and bathrooms really close by. Based on the previous reviews, and google searches of "things to do with kids in NOLA" I had high expectations of this park. What I saw when I arrived was a junk yard of misfit toys and beat up playground equipment. I know I'm being very critical of a playground for kids, but this is a poor excuse of a playground. In order to get here you need to purchase a ticket for the Ferry. The ferry leaves every 30 minutes and only costs a few bucks. The ride takes about 5 minutes to get across the river. Then it's about a 15 min walk to the park. I wouldn't say the area is unsafe, but I would suggest staying on the main roads if possible. The playground located on a street corner in the middle of a neighborhood. The playground is fenced in which I thought was nice. There were lots of toys inside, some of which were broken. The toys seemed to have been dropped by locals who just didn't want them anymore. There were a few swings, and a play set with a slide. There was also a rather large mulched area where kids can just run around. I will warn you, if it has rained recently then the playground is rather muddy. Over all it was a nice time for my little one to run around outdoors, in an enclosed area. Bathrooms - These seem to be few and far between in this town. The day was saved when I found out there was a coffee shop next door called "One Stone" that had a kid friendly bathroom. There was a really nice changing table in there with spare diapers and wipes. Had it not been for this saving grace we might have left just as soon as we arrived. **Be sure to read my review of "One Stone" as its worth visiting if you come over here for the park. Would I come back? Maybe. "One Stone" was pretty cool, but there are so many closer and better things on the other side of the river that there just isn't much of a draw to come back over here.

They spent some money for these kids! There are a couple of batting cages, a full court basketball court, a walking track, playground for the kiddos and a remote-control car track. I almost want to go buy a remote-control car to play. The park also has a really nice memorial to the George Prince Ferry disaster of 1976, so you get a little history lesson too. The biggest problem with the park is that it is F'n loud with all the cars going past constantly.

If you are looking for a tranquil place to relax or a quiet place to jog this park fits the bill quite well. In fact you feel quite isolated if you're jogging here as I have rarely ever seen more than 30ppl here at the same time. If you are coming to the park to entertain the kiddos they will get bored here rather quickly as there is no kids playground, no ponds, no ducks, no carousels, no rides, etc. You get the picture. There are softball and soccer fields but I believe those are for organized competition only and not for recreational use. I have never seen anyone use those fields except during league play. I still like this park though because it is quiet and they do have a small sculpture garden. Most of the time, though, I prefer lots of activity around me so I prefer parks with lots of people around.

Initially the playground area was kinda lame. Tiny. Little kid centered with not much variety. Upon further inspection the park has a dog park, concrete walking trails and a small water play area. The water play area was great. It was tiny as well but a lot of fun for the kids on a hot day. I found their suits but had to sacrifice a shirt as a towel. Great little spot. Looks to be brand new and the first phase of development. I would expect this park to grow exponentially in the upcoming years. Great spot to burn a couple yrs.

Kenner is a suburb of New Orleans that is home to the major airport for the area. It is home to Lafrienerre park, a large park with a concert meadow, dog park, lakes, walking paths and so much more. It is the 6th largest city in Louisiana. This is a sleepy suburb that hasn't had much going on. The Louis Armstrong airport, which services New Orleans is located here. It is home to the training camp for both the basketball team and the football teams for New Orleans, and home to the minor league baseball team for the area. Esplanade Mall is in Kenner, is huge, but is largely outdated. I don't think this has been a major source of excitement in quite sometime. It is as if the zombie apocolypes has happened, and the undead haven't made it here. The living don't really show up here either, but I think that malls across the country are having this issue as well. The only Octoberfest in the area is in Kenner, by the river. The only interesting thing I could find out about Kenner is that in 1982, Pan Am Flight 759 crashed in a residential area of Kenner when a microburst forced it down. 8 people on the ground were killed, as were all 145 people on the aircraft. Six houses were completely destroyed and five more substantially damaged. Again. the only gender neutral restrooms are port-a-johns, which are only available under certain conditions, like festivals.
