I wanted someone who did not cut corners for the sake of a paycheck. I also wanted someone who would gladly invite myself or my husband into the class and on the drives. I desired someone who was trustworthy and moral. My driver instructor smelled of alcohol when I took the class years ago. I wanted someone who understands who the parents are and are equally respectful of that. Mostly I wanted someone that would take this seriously and really teach my child all she needed to learn to be a successful driver. And my expectations were more then met. I live in the sticks and have to drive over an hour to get here. But it is worth it!! I hear what our local kids get out of drivers training. It's usually not very good. More of a distracted course where they learn very little and don't even see a highway. At this academy Chris does a great job. I've referred her to my homeschool and non-homeschool friends and family members. She met all my crazy criteria and then some. She is a very kind hearted lady. And she takes her responsibilities very seriously. No corners cut. She understands if she misses something, she has to live with that. I will be back in a year with my next child. Already have 3 others planning on attending with me. She is great!! I highly recommend Chris!!

I first moved to Linwood 19 yrs ago I went to midnight mass with my neighbors it was truly truly beautiful all white And I swear a million candles! I went to many fish fry here over the years And man it is very good. You'll have to check if out for yourself...we frequent the playground a lot in the summer. At least once a week....weve had a lot of picnics there on the grass next to the park. And last but not least they help me pay my consumers bill a couple years ago when I ran into some financial difficulties. Very nice people and a very beautiful church.

Faculty assemble here from exquisite universities and doctoral programs! I chose classes based on their reputation or specify, rather than what was required, as a non-traditional student. The RA's and campus police don't do much to enforce the rules either. They also charge a lot of money and can't guarantee you a housing spot and won't refund the deposit if they don't give you housing because they over accept freshmen or others who live five minuets away who are living on campus instead of the people who live hours away. The laundry rooms have problems with the machines not working, not getting fixed, or people not being responsible and getting their laundry in a set time. This school only cares for their big four (Sports, teaching, nursing, business) as they don't care for their arts as much. Many departments are needing new professors and they aren't hiring them, instead they are adding/upgrading the signs around campus to bold signs that don't look all that good. The dining hall has really gross food and they taste like chemicals as well. The student workers at all dining locations seem to not g.a.s. The students tend to not g.a.s. about other students and during the week leading up to and the week of finals they still have tours and events that disrupt people in classes or studying. SVSU only cares about your money and not the student. The professors that I've had all care and try their best despite not getting paid the money they should.

Do you know what a Scot is???? I do now…read more A Scot is the schools mascot. A burly scottish man on steroids wearing a kilt. Kinda cute. My daughter is one now. She was accepted into their dance program and recieved a scholarship for dance and merit. I went here with my daughter on Scot Day. That's when kids and parents attend an all day meet the school and faculty and see where your child is going to go(and your money). This turned out to be a great day. I was impressed with the facility. They have a great combination of new and old facilities. We met the new President of the College and many of faculty. The sun was shining, the food was good(they fed us), and the everything went well. My daughter made an observation, "everybody here seems so friendly". Here are a few other things to note about the college.... Alma College boasts a 12:1 student-to-teacher ratio, a liberal arts approach to undergraduate education, over 40 majors, minors and pre-professional programs, the chance to self-design programs of emphasis and an intensive Spring Term that provides opportunities for innovative courses, travel classes, research and internships. Several of my family members have subsequently attended Alma. Alma has certainly prepared me for my further academic pursuits. However, I must still rate it 3 stars, and here is why... The education is strong, but primarily because the students are driven and well picked by admissions. I believe that the students of Alma College would have succeeded and shone brightly anywhere they studied. Unfortunately, the price of Alma is hindering to many of the Graduates given the current economic climate. They put more effort into asking for Alumni donations after you graduate then helping you connect and move up. Some of the professors are remarkable! Some just aren't. There are professors with agendas, as there are everywhere. However, I feel it is obvious at Alma. I would not recommend Alma for the professors in general. When I was a student the interim president made it very clear that student safety was not an agenda! Student congress squanders money, and is cliquey if not down right rigged. The food is great! However, if you look at the price per meal you might wonder if it is worth the price. The campus is beautiful, and the arts are decent. I will stop there. I loved Alma, and I miss it dearly. However, if you are looking to stand out from the crowd then do the work, bleed, sweat, and apply to one of the top 20 colleges in America. If you don't get in then I recommend you take a year to work and travel after high school. When you return find a solid Community or City college with a transfer option to a good state school. Then plan to get your Masters right after. If you are really committed to your field then earn your Ph.D. and go teach at Alma!

The short amount of time that I was there, i witnessed many arguments between staff and students. I also witnessed a student get yelled at by a client while the instructors watched close by as if it was a show. I will not come back to this establishment and the service was not worth the stress of being there.
