This place is incredible! A friend of mine invited me to join her for Taco Tuesday, and it was one of the best nights of my life! It's an amazing atmosphere full of culture, a great DJ, and really nice people. Everyone there is so friendly and the hosts and servers really make you feel welcome. The food is out of this world! I highly recommend getting the wings. They are the best! Also the bartender makes some incredible drinks. I had a strawberry margarita that was mixed to perfection. Overall it was an amazing experience and I'm counting down the days until I can go back. And of course to get more of the great food! I highly recommend for anyone looking to have a great time on a Tuesday night or for your event space hosting needs. Such a beautiful venue altogether. I would never rent this place after what we experienced there last night. The people that work there are rude and unprofessional. We try to patronize our black people and for the money they're charging they should treat people better at this place. The party was going great until we were basically told to get out yes someone got on the mic at 8:15 and said everybody had to be out of there by 8:30 when the party was supposed to end at 9:00 and they didn't say it nicely they were very rude. I know several people that have used this place in the past and they were there celebrating our mom's retirement/birthday and none of us will ever rent this place again. While visiting back home, I was referred to this place for Taco Tuesday. Parking across the street was FREE thank God it is not actively monitored otherwise I think the parking is suppose to charge for parking. Back in the day this was the spot! Today, not so much. The clientele is loud, don't wear masks (neither did the security guard). Some people seem to like the food but to me it was just ok. Part of my issue is the place isn't as clean as it should be- I expect more during a pandemic but since there's no social distancing why was I surprised? Because there's a pandemic! The supposed owner of this establishment is uncouth, rude and ignorant. I have gone to Regency West as a guest for a repast and birthday parties. However today I had the most unpleasant experience as I picked up my children from a nearby children's foundation. This person was upset because I blocked a locked entryway. I was there less than 5 minutes. I told her I would move and she responded with so much vitriol, I still don't understand. She was so full of anger, I now realize something has to be wrong with her. She cussed me and my children. My children were so stunned I had to reassure them that she wouldn't hurt them. When the person who was with her said be mindful of the kids she then proceeded to say f my kids and me. She is an older black woman with big hoop earrings and anger issues. It's sad that my kids had to experience that trauma in Leimert Park what is supposed to be a safe haven for the black community in Los Angeles. I make it point to support my community especially black owned establishments but this one, I will never support and I will let everyone in my circle know how unhinged and unprofessional the management is. Where do I start....I had the misfortune of visiting this establishment and was extremely unimpressed. First, they advertised a "Second Sunday Event" which was published to start at 12:00 noon, upon my arrival at 12:20noon, I was told it would not open until about 2:00pm as they were still setting up. I returned at 2:40pm and my nightmare started. First, the event was outdoors, loud music, derogatory music related to sex & women, not a place for anyone with an ounce of class as most in attendance were classless, women were dressed in inappropriate attire, way too much breast and butts was on displayed. I felt like I was at a cheap strip club. I paid for admission $20.00, $20.00 for unlimited mimosas and $25.00 for the meal. The unlimited mimosas was not served, as you had to stand in this long Bar line with every other guest, the meal options were 1. Shrimp and grits 2. Fried Chicken and waffles, 3. A vegetarian option which you found out the options once you were there. Being new to this facility I had to inquire how things worked, it was never asked or explained to you upon entry. So you used a ticket given you upon entrance to place your order after a person roaming around finally gets to you to inquirer if you'd ordered a meal, then she tells you what the meal options are. I ordered my food to go as I knew from the moment I set foot in this establishment it was not for me nor my age demographics as all of the attendees were 21 to early thirties living that life style that they do. I'd purchased my tickets online, never been here before nor would I ever come again nor would I recommend to any family or friends. My selection of Chicken Waffles took forever, it took me getting up and walking near the back door to kitchen area to make an inquiry to expediting my order so that I could excape this nightmare expeditiously. After leaving I checked my meal and found the chicken to be undercooked and inedible to eat without further cooking it, which I had to do after my 45 minutes ride back to where I live. Breached our class reunion contract/reservation for October 26th, 2019 after we paid a deposit and signed a contract that noted no changes allowed and no refunds. Not to mention flyers were made and it was posted all over social media. They had the NERVE to get an attitude and tell me that their customer of many years needed the date. On January 18th some friends and I went to regency west to celebrate a birthday, my friend reserved a table that she paid $100 only to be told she had to share the table with someone who got a table for free, then to make matters worse when we finally got inside she didn't even have a table even though she paid for it, and to make matters worse than that neither of the hostesses could give her any information not to mention their customer service was deplorable I will never set foot in that horrible place again read more

I attended a day party at this place on Sunday April 25th, 2021. Let me just say this was the most unorganized, chaotic, ratchet event/ event space I've ever attended in my life. Attending the event with friends we spent well over $300 on drinks and food alone, and initially it was a really good time until we had to use the restroom. The people that was throwing the event had well over 200 people here with only one restroom for men and one for women. We were standing in line for over 20 minutes to use the restroom until we were informed by the security guard standing at the restroom that someone pooped on the floor in the women's restroom. At this point my friends and I really had to use the restroom so we went to the front where we paid our money and asked if we could run to a near by business and come back because the restrooms weren't working. They told us no. We continued to add that we've spent $600 here between all of us getting in the building and buying food and drinks and would like to continue to spend money if we could come back in after running to use the restroom and the man at the door fixed his mouth to say that there are people here that spent more than that and that we still cannot leave. We continued to ask the people around that was working the door and one of the girls that was collecting the money with pink hair proceeded to stand up and take her shoes off as if she wanted to fight my friend. At this point it was time for us to just leave. If I could rate this place a ZERO I would. It is against health regulations to not have a working bathroom. I heard the place had awesome tacos. However, the way I was treated, was below poor customer service. I ordered tacos. The place was crowded, hot, and the music was loud. I stepped outside. I was informed that the waitress was told that I had stepped outside. Thirty minutes went by so I went inside to the kitchen. A very classless lady in a red cap was standing near the kitchen. I informed her that I ordered tacos. She asked "from whom," I told her that I didn't get the name. She shrugged her shoulders and began to ignore me. I was in shock. You'll only have a seat if you reserve a table or get lucky after an hour of asking different people "Is someone sitting here?" When we finally got a seat my mom placed an order. A good 45 minutes went by before we saw a server again. When we finally saw her she was serving food to other people who'd placed their orders after us. So my mom flagged down the server, who then got the person who originally took our order. She claimed to have sent our order. *A server came with some chicken for Jackie. My momma name ain't Jackie. And we'd ordered tacos and chicken.* She was adamant that she had sent that chicken to us, as she'd only heard my mom say chicken. But that's neither here nor there. She asked my mom if she wanted anything. They were out of tacos but she could maybe get us some chicken in. My mom said ok. The chicken never came. Reading some of the reviews, some people are just so sensitive! ‍ I've been the Regency on several Taco Tuesdays and it's always been a blast! Getting a drink at the bar is the usual situation at a club, you gotta hustle yourself to the bartender! The music is always always ALWAYS poppin and the tacos are made with fried flour tortilla- my preference! Food takes a minute to come out (but you are at a club, not a restaurant.) This place is in the neighborhood where I grew up. I mean, I walked past this place so many times as a child and teenager. I wonder were they getting down the whole time and I was just too young to know. Well I no longer live in Los Angeles but I came home to visit family and my cousin suggested we go here for Taco Tuesday. The tacos were delicious! I got the bean tacos since I no longer eat meat and they were so good there was no need for meat. Anyway, the drinks are reasonable on Tuesday and I only needed two to get right. The DJ did his thing and played a great selection of music for the older crowd. He also played some stuff for the young ones. Mostly there were people 30 years and older in the building. But mostly the people were 40 and older. Ok maybe 50 and older. :) Well, we all had a good time. I would go here at least two Tuesdays a month if I still lived in the city. It's a place you can meet your friends, get on the dance floor, have a cocktail and some inexpensive eats. The DJ was entertaining and you get all of this on a Tuesday night! The crowd seems to know one another and be very sociable. But it might only work if you are from the neighborhood cause this is really a neighborhood spot. This place is great for midweek entertainment, even more, an optimal venue for when you want to plan and arrange any formal event for family or friends. I hosted an event for several occasions and have never been disappointed in the service, decorative arrangements or outcome. Each time, my guests were comfortable and well attended. The renovated decor creates a nice ambiance and with my additional designs , of which they had no problems with, gave the perfect setting for my event. Atmosphere is warm, welcoming and cozy, the DJ hits all of the right notes and the staff serves tasty delights and drinks from the menu. Would have given 5 stars, except for one bartender. She is a Crook. Went this past Saturday for a party. The venue & rest of the staff was great. EXCEPT, for that one bartender. Had been to the bar multiple times, always ordering the same beer. Other bartender, he giving me the same price throughout the night, $6. One time it was her, she tells me $10. What! I've been paying $6. She says, that's my price, buy it or don't. I tell her, I'll wait for him. She tells me I'm cut off. TF! Had other people go up for me the rest of the night, but, to go the guy & not her. She's pocketing the $4 plus whatever other tip she's getting. She must be making a killing on every event. As a Black Businessman in Los Angeles and Promotional Company that has been hosting events for Professionals for the past 26 years I am disappointed but forced to report to our valued clientele that Versatile Productions will no longer be hosting Taco Tuesdays, Nor Supporting Events at the Regency West. I know this comes as a Shock as the event was thriving and doing well. Society already has a Black-Eye as to the treatment of African Americans but when we defer to Infighting it is truly self-defeating. Here are the reasons I ask you to Discontinue support of the Regency West:. I will first say as a believer in Christ, My Initial decision was to simply walk away from this Act of Greed. Control & Selfishness. Although my company Versatile Productions had been Dis-respected, Un-appreciated, and kept completely in the blind with Business finances that were totally relevant to Compensation. This action by Owner was the major Issue that Versatile Productions and any other Professional would have a problem with. Business is Business However this Owner felt he was beyond having to be Transparent. Owners were adamant they had no desire to continue the event as it was failing financially and a burden to their normal course of Business. Owners said, Event would be dissolved and no longer at Regency West. Obviously Un-True. Unfortunately, their actions have forced us to resort to Damage Control. Versatile had been Silent since this situation was presented on March 28th, However Friends and Business Associates have stated the Executive Producer's Character and Company Brand have been slandered by the Owners of the Regency West. Then as well, Various Members, Vendors and Partners of Versatile Productions have been solicited to continue working with the Regency West Owners on Taco Tuesday. This continuance would occur after a breach of Contract to remove the Executive Producer of Versatile Productions. This Retaliatory Breach was a vindictive action to Silence & Punish the Executive Producer because of a request to investigate an obvious financial error that occurred during a recent event. This attempt to remove the Executive Producer and Slander his name would allow Regency West to retain All Revenue from the Night and no longer have to Allocate Commissions due to Versatile Productions. Sadly at all times Owners reported event was not financially feasible and they wanted to discontinue event entirely. These Actions by both Owners are obvious Acts of a Hostile take-over, Theft of a Business Concept, Intellectual Property & Finances as well as Un-Ethical, Dis-Respectful and Un-fair actions. These Actions places Versatile Productions at a Defense. This really saddens me because I have viewed both Owners as Pillars in the Community. One is a Real Estate Developer and Businessman and the other a Doctor Entrusted to Values and Ethics beyond that of normal Citizens. The Venue was very popular in the Eighties for Comedy and had been off the mainstream Radar for Events until Versatile Productions re-surged location with the hard-work and branding required to break Taco Tuesdays. Versatile Productions can prove all content here-in. We have not divulged all facts but be aware there is much more Evidence. We have a Professional Responsibility to bring awareness of the truth as it relates to this Unfortunate situation. We did not ask for this. However we defer to God as the overseer of Truth. Thanks for your continued support and we apologize for any Inconvenience, Please be patient as we prepare new events for our Professionals to attend. Please spread the word as to the tactics used by the Regency West. I ask that any Affiliates, DJ's, Promoters, Vendors and Clientele show solidarity that this type of Dis-respect will not be tolerated . Don't do it simply for Versatile Productions. Do it as a voice for what is Right. Remember, I had love for Regency West as well, I did everything I could do to resolve this situation. I was Humble. But you can't use your perceived power to take advantage of the people who have supported your venue for years. read more
