Hotel is stunning!…read more Restaurant Mama: First meal of our trip was extremely exquisite! The flavors were so rich and delicious. It was the best beginning meal! My husband chose the beef ravioli, and I selected the truffle gnocchi with walnuts. My husband's ravioli were housemade and extremely tasteful. However, I would order this gnocchi Every single time, it was that good! The shaved truffle on top was the perfect edition! This will hands-down be one of my favorite meals ever! The view is absolutely breathtaking, we had the restaurant to ourselves because we chose to eat early that night and I'm so glad we did. It was the perfect beginning to an amazing trip.

4 star hotel but our stay was okay. Breakfast buffet is included, although options are the same…read moredaily. They do offer cappuccinos and also omelettes, however, do not advertise this. I do like the freshly squeezed orange juice though! Staff are friendly, and there's an outdoor gym. I didn't care for the equipment as you can't really adjust the machines and it seems like it's also the smoking area. It's a bit difficult to do cardio in hot weather and smell cigarette smoke, so that wasn't very enjoyable. Pool is small and I skipped it. There's plenty of seats in the shade and they also have a small hot tub by the garden area separate from the pool. I really liked the tiny libraries and think that should be an option at all hotels in the States! I traded the books I brought and took new ones. Room is okay. They don't service it very well, sometimes only just making the bed and not taking out the garbage. I also felt like the shower was a smidge small and the folded up shower seat was discolored, so a bit off-putting. Everything is also so high up! Like the towel hooks and the toiletries. It's more work for us shorter people to reach! They also offer complimentary service around specific Praiano bus stops, so a bit nice... however, it's quicker at times to just walk it yourself.

Every since I was a little kid watching the History Channel like a total nerd, it has been my dream…read moreto see Pompeii. So, when we booked a summer trip to Italy, there was no question that Pompeii was a must see. Booking a hotel was easy because there's really one property with great reviews and that's Hotel Diana. For 75 Euros a night, the price was just right. Due to some absurd travel delays, we ended up rolling in on the last train of the night from Naples. . . and it, apparently, went to the wrong train station in town. We called the hotel at 11 PM and explained our problem: the train station was now closed, there were no taxis, and we were the only ones there. The front desk clerk called us a taxi, who showed up shortly and gave us a ride. I didn't realize how wrong the wrong train station was until we drove over 20 minutes just to get to the property. For the record, the "right" train station is literally half a block from the hotel. Oops! Make sure you're choochooing into the right place, friends. When we got there, we were checked in promptly and given keys to our room. The room is sort of garishly decorated, but whatever. It was clean, it was a good size, and it had an ice cold ac. The bathroom was a good size and very clean. Despite our late arrival, the front desk agent pointed us to a pizza place down the street that was still open. Can I tell you? Literally the best pizza I have ever had. Phenomenal! And like, half a block from the hotel. Pizzeria Alleria, check them out. So good we went back twice. We slept well, grabbed the free breakfast in the morning (which was fine), and headed to Pompeii. Now, for some reason, I thought the Hotel Diana was right next to Pompeii, but it is not. You've got to walk about 10 minutes, which isn't much. Well, it's supposed to be 10 minutes, but we made a wrong turn and it took us quite a bit longer than it should have. Oops. There also seemed to be a rather happening hot spot right down the street from the hotel, so if that's your thing, that's a plus. Check out was easy and they helped us figure out the train schedule, which was much appreciated. All in all, I would definitely suggest Hotel Diana. It's got a great location, friendly staff, and great pricing.

While it might not be the Ritz-Carlton it certainly will make you feel like it is. Best…read morecappuccinos I've ever had in Italy! Great service. Ice cold AC. Spotless clean! My only suggestion would be a little bit more soap and shampoo and adding conditioner. But they are so hospitable and everything is so perfect they are getting five stars anyway!! And I am a bitch of a critic!
