For the longest time, I've known and called Regina's Budget Meals by a different name: Pink Kitchen. If you've seen the place, then I'm sure you'll pardon my ignorance. It's so unabashedly pink! This is your typical local carinderia, albeit one decked in pastel. Viands are laid out inside a glass shelf for customers to choose from. From what I can recall, it's self-service here, so don't expect your meals to just arrive on your table. You're supposed to order and take your plate, utensils, and glass from the counter. They have service water in a pitcher.
For students on a budget, this is a great choice. Indeed, their clients include mostly students and employees from nearby Benilde and St. Scholastica's. Yes, they eat carinderia food, too.
The meals ate Regina's are the usual homemade fare like sinigang, tinola, caldereta, afritada, pritong tilapia, and sometimes even bopis. Their tortang talong my hands down favorite, though. I will definitely come back again and again for that. read more
