So far, he's helped us carefully demo plaster in our 100+ year-old home, honoring our request to preserve as much of the good plaster as possible. He also meticulously removed the vinyl siding to reveal the beautiful original cedar shake and lap siding underneath, which we can now restore. Secondly, we needed the towel holder in the bathroom to be secured to the wall. I didn't feel that I could successfully complete either of these jobs. Carlos with Bossotros Any Services was the 1st handyman to respond. I explained the details of what I needed done, & he asked if he could come by & see the issues firsthand.I replied,"Yes.", & we set up a meeting. He & his coworker, Erick arrived, came in, & reviewed the work that I wanted done. Carlos took measurements, & passed on to Erick what materials needed to be purchased. Afterwards Carlos said that they did want the work, & that he would contact me with an estimate. Not long after that, he replied with his estimate. I said, "Yes I could afford it." I scheduled an appointment for the work, & on that day he & Erick arrived. The first thing that Carlos said to me was, "The price of the trim that he bought to replace my broken trim, had increased since he quoted me the estimate." He even pulled out the sales receipt from Home Depot, & asked me if I still wanted the jobs done? I looked in my check book register, & said, "Yes." He & Erick immediately began replacing our broken trim. Before I knew it, they had replaced our broken trim, & Carlos asked me how it looked? I checked out their work & replied,"That looks great."They gathered their tools, & headed for our bathroom. After a few minutes, Carlos advised me that they needed to go get a specific item from the hardware store. In a brief period they returned, & they very quickly secured our towel holder to the wall. He again asked me to review their work. I said that it looked awesome. I gave Carlos the money, & a thank you card. Without a doubt, I HIGHLY recommend Bossotros Any Services.

The most important part. I asked 3 times about tape and was assured by Carlos Lopez Marquez it was applied. I"m in the process of notifying the insurance company as it was their money he took without finishing. Everything now needs to be undone. Buyer beware. Do not pay until job is done and inspected by a professional or someone you trust. If site allows me I'll happily include picture's. They do not clean up after themselves and also put lights up and didn't wire them properly.

They were amiable and hard working, although only one seemed to speak good English. Plus, he had the best price, too. That's the good part. But, He never supervised the crew closely - just sat in his truck, mostly. He also left to supervise another job site, came back and sat in the truck some more, then left them to finish up the job on their own. Then, they finished nailing it down and left. He returned and wanted full payment, which I stupidly paid him right then. Then, there were two problems that popped up. 1. Part of the contract said they would 'sweep' the property with a magnet to pick up all the roofing nails they had launched from the roof. It turns out they did not even do that at all. When I started finding roofing nails in the yard, I got out a weak magnet and picked up a couple dozen. I called him and asked him to come and complete the work. He hemmed and hawed and never did it. I ended up hiring someone to search, using my weak magnet, and they found dozens more all throughout the grass, driveway and flowers. I called again and emailed too, but he went silent and refused to answer. I ended up buying a stronger magnet and found several hundred nails in the yard. I sent him pictures of them, dozens stuck on to one magnet. Still no answer. 2. Then, the first rain came, and we noticed they had not put back the flashing over our doorway, and the rain ran off in sheets. They had evidently thrown away our flashing, and we didn't miss it until it rained. And so, no way to deny it wasn't done- we had before and after pictures of the roof- with and without the flashing. Still no contact, but he came while we were away and put up a flashing. It never worked nearly as well as our old one, and I just figured out why today, almost a year later. He just nailed it on top of the shingles, so there's a little crack under each one where the water under them. Some flashing job. So that's why I'm finally writing this all down - hopefully it will help someone else: A. Before and after pics of entire roof B. Do not pay until 30 days after job 'finished' C. Learn what you can about what makes a good roof job and maybe you can avoid some of my mistakes
