One of their marketing partners was breached and now my social security #, full name and date of birth are now in the hands of a hacker. You know what information you need to authenticate to your account at Pelican? Last 4 of social, date of birth and a 6 digit account number. My account number has 4 zeros in it, making it as secure as "Password123". Their "additional verification" are your address and/or full name, one of which was given out and the other is public info. You cannot opt-out of these programs and Pelican will not allow you to lock your account with a pin. Just understand, that with Pelican, their profits greatly outweigh any obligation to customers. Choose any other CU, because Pelican is an anti-consumer clown show.

First I was going to go with a company in Iowa and then a better rate was found and it was with LaCapitol. I've always done business with this branch except for once or twice I've gone to the one on the Westbank. Everything is done at the drive up teller. I went inside once and they had the same set up. Tubes going up to who knows where. I didn't see any employees inside so I never even get out. The lines are never long and the service is always fast and friendly. Just recently, I purchased a second vehicle and decided to finance through LaCapitol again. So now I have two separate loans. I dealt with a few different people but mostly Kim during the process which was seamless. I called and started the process and for everything else they called me for a quick question or emailed me. They always answered the phones when I called and replied to my emails in a timely manner. When I started with the first loan, I automatically was given a savings account which I use to pay bills online so that was a nice perk. I'm happy with LaCapitol and love that they are so close to my home.

We created user name and then somehow without setting up password we got to the page with two phone numbers that shows only last four digits. We have to choose one to get an access code. Problem was that numbers that was there wasn't ours. Tried calling first time, after 5-10 min wait a person started helping and then said "Oh, let me transfer you to another branch, please hold". I was on hold for another 10 min. Then another person tried to but couldn't help and wanted us to be transferred to a person who speak Spanish. That is where I lost my cool. My husband and I has accents but we can speak English just fine and I didn't want to wait. Customer Rep got snarky with me and said that we only can fix this issue by going to branch. We did and wait time was 55 minutes with 4 people in front of us. Only two ladies were working there that we saw and they were very sweet. She supposedly changed the phone number but I couldn't check if it worked because internet was really bad at their spot. So I trusted that it all fixed and we can continue setting it up at home. Big mistake! Nothing was changed and she gave us a phone number for customer service and told us that they can't change the phone numbers -we have to go to brunch! Next morning I went to the branch again and they fixed the number! I could see it! Only to get stuck at the next step. We can't submit profile because there is no home phone number! And we can't add it online, we have to fill out the FORM at the branch! We were there 2 times and nobody told us about the form. The most idiotic bank I've ever dealt with. One person doesn't know what should it be and sending us on a wild goose chase. As soon as we can we are gonna be out. I understand that smaller banks doesn't have infrastructure of a bigger bank system but this situation here is just incompetent workers and ridiculous rules that wasted my time.
