The grounds were well kept even though most of the stuff was closed when we went due to it being in the off season. The drive up is a little crazy if you aren't used to driving on tight roads with winding curves, but all of that makes the trip up to your room that much more exciting. Every place you look there are beautiful scenes to be taken in while walking around the place. The rooms have beautiful views of the vineyards down below and the service is excellent. Daniele, his wife and his mother and Roberta and many others welcome you to their home, where you feel like part of their family. The grounds are beautiful, with hundreds of olive trees and spectacular vistas of the blue-green surrounding mountains. The terrain here is more like lower alpine as opposed to rolling Tuscan hills. The road leading to Reggello is a twisting ribbon of asphalt through forest. The towns here are terraced with narrow roads. They have a lovely pool where you can cool off on a hot day. The apartments are sparkling clean and well appointed. They are not fancy, but they are very comfortable, cool and clean. The two of us and our boys had three nights here and enjoyed it immensely. You're only 38 km from Firenze, but a world away from the hustle and bustle and tourists. When we stayed there, it was only Italians, most were returning guests from previous summers. The food is wonderful! For about 25 € each, you have a true Tuscan family style dinner with antipasti, primo and secundo. And, dolce--the best panna cotta and tiramisu ever!! You must stay on a Saturday night, which is their famous Pizza Night. Daniele and his team labor making beautiful cracker thin pizzas in the outdoor wood burning pizza oven for the guests and many of their friends and neighbors. Wine is generously poured. It is a memorable atmosphere like nothing in California!! We also enjoyed veal Milanese, risotto, pasta, bruschetta, salads, steak, and more. They also produce their own olive oil that is made organically and is incredible. Such a special place. We can't wait to go back.

We were in Italy for over three weeks, traveling all over and this was truly one of the highlights of our trip! This is another property many have a difficult time finding due to it being a new property and off of a dirt road and up a hill. A kind local Italian gent steered us in the correct direction. We had a very relaxing stay at this property. We took day trips to Florence and Sienna from this location. Built March 2019, this property once a private residence is now modern luxury resort in Tuscany. The rooms are brand new and spacious, we had a suite with dining and living room. We had a whirlpool hot tub in our room but never got the chance to use it, used the pool instead. The pool and outdoor dining spaces were thoroughly enjoyed. There are mosquitoes on the property as in much of Tuscany region, they have bug spray if you need it, and a plug in electric bug repellent. We noticed many got good rates, ours was higher due to booking last minute and also requesting a suite. Parking and Breakfast are included. Both nights we chose to dine at the property which is not inexpensive. One night was stellar, the other just so so. Breakfast was adequate, the scrambled eggs were too rich, I think they were made with heavy cream, the granola and jams were outstanding.

This dish could easily merit a Michelin star. The little taste we had of mezzelune with buffalo mozzarella inside was also spectacular. The borgo opened as a hotel 4 years ago after a decade of renovation on the family property of Giulia and Andrea, the young chef.
