I reckon this is one of the more upmarket beauty salons close to me. It's freshly painted exterior,…read moregold sign lettering and shiny windows definitely give over this impression. Inside it's no different - the place is extremely clean (something you would hope for in anywhere where these types of treatments go on), well organised and immaculately presented. This place deals in a whole range of beauty and health treatments. These go from the fairly common and basic such as spray tans, facials, hair removal and nail work (e.g. manicures and pedicures) to the more complex and advanced. This meaning reflexology, counselling and semi-permanent eyelash treatments. Unfortunately, these more complex and uncommon treatments are not ones that I have personally tried - or know someone who has. Instead, I have stuck to the basic nails, hair removal and the odd spray tan for big occasions in the summer when it seems compulsory to flash the flesh. For these common treatments, they did provide a good service with pleasant staff and the treatments certainly did what they were supposed to. However, after trying these out a few times I don't see how I can realistically justify going slightly further out of my way and spending slightly more money for the same outcome. Thus, I would only really suggest this place if you are seeking out some advice on their special treatments, or indeed the special treatments themselves without travelling into town. The offering of these few special and more unusual treatments are really the only reason for the fourth star. Though, it was also nice to be in somewhere a bit more upmarket for a one off.

I…read moreagree with Sarah T. in saying that from the outside, there's not much to the building, but my experience inside was a pleasent one. My appointment was on a Saturday, super early in the morning (8am) and I was able to get parking easy enough. It's free on the weekends which is a huge help as I had forgotten to bring cash with me that morning. Walking in, it was like a ghost town, but I was able to speak to the information desk personel and was pointed in the direction I needed to go. Since I was early, they were able to take me in before the person who was meant to be there but never showed up. Score. I was taken in to the MRI room by a really nice lady and was told exactly what was going to happen. After I was put in to place on the bed, I was asked if I wanted to listen to music since the machine is quite loud. Since it was around Christmas time when I was there, they had Christmas music to listen to which made my day. i was in and out of there in about 45 minutes, which wasn't too painfully slow. The staff here are really friendly and helpful and I didn't mind my visit in the slightest.

They wanted so many forms to be filled in and a photo ID and a recent bill to prove I was who I said I was. I thought that was a bit strange - I'm sure I didn't need so much last time I signed up for a GP. I'm also not crazy about their appointment booking system: They prefer you need to either ring them at 08:30 on the day you want an appointment, rather than booking one in advance. They say this is because more people fail to show up for appointments booked in advance but to me that seems a bit presumptive. I feel like on-the-day appointments are really for emergencies. That said I've never had any trouble actually getting an appointment and once you've got one everything runs pretty smoothly. The surgery itself has plenty of comfy seating and asks visitors to avoid using mobile phones, which is fair enough. Hopefully I won't have too much cause to visit regularly but I'm confident that if I do I will be treated very well.

I left feeling more tender than normal but put this down to the waxer having to go over the same parts too often. As the night progressed I was in agony! Eventually at 3am the pain became too excruating I could not stand it anymore and had too seek help. Turns out a section of my inner lips had been waxed and a section of skin removed causing inflammation. I had to spend the weekend on the couch as was unable to close my legs. Urinating was agony. I have been getting waxed for 10 years and brazillian for 2 years and never had such a bad experience. This salon wants to be high end but nowhere near. I have the odd niggling aches & pains that occasionally blight my life and I know from past experience that no GP can help me in a way that doesn't involve being heavily drugged up (some may argue 'Nowt wrong with that!' but I refuse to be a daily {ab}user of painkillers unless totally necessary) or waiting on a list to see someone who will get me to perform exercises like some sad circus sealion with a dodgy neck. Nah. You're alright. So I seek out a massage therapist like some mad junkie seeking out a drug dealer 'I NEED ma massage fix, man!' Heard some good things about not only THC but also Christine herself; checked oot the website & saw she does some rather splendid deals, in fact cheaper than places I have frequented previously. BONUS. I usually go to the lovely Christine for an hour full body aromatherapy/therapeutic/hot stone massage and it only costs me £30 which I think is brilliant. Especially as some places tend to charge more for the use of the hot stones (something which Christine herself doesn't quite understand why). I had never had a hot stone massage & now I have oooh...there's nowt quite like it, I tell thee. The other thing that I liked about THC & Christine is that they/she does a late clinic most days until 9pm. I usually go post-work so for me this is great. She also does occasional deals (which she will text you) with such things as £25 for a 1 hour massage or £45 for a 2 hour session which I am yet to try but sounds amazing! THC is very handy by public transport; only a 5 min walk from St.Georges Cross subway or a 10 min walk from Sauchiehall Street/Charing Cross. It's a buzzer entry & sometimes they may not answer straight away so don't panic. The entrance hall is really peaceful & serene with a big comfy sofa & also many leaflets available for your perusal. The massage rooms themselves vary - one is quite 'traditional' and small, dark whereas the other is much bigger & feels as though you're walking into someones posh living room! I prefer the wee room as it's darker & quieter but once Christine works her magic you forget you're even in the centre of a busy city. I couldn't recommend Christine/THC highly enough ~ they have always been brilliant about swapping/changing appointments and the standard of service is always top class. Even if I didn't suffer from the old ache & pain I would still come here for a quality relaxing massage treat. I believe that massage is not only good for the body but for the mind & soul too. Right, now that we have that out of the way. When I walk into this place, I find a sense of calm descend upon me. I find it quite a pleasant experience. It feels like a place of healing. They have a number of therapists across disciplines. Acupuncture, massage therapy and clinical hypnotherapy all are practised within this place. The therapy rooms are well appointed and they do not resemble the cupboards that are common for massage therapy or acupuncture in Glasgow. Book yourself a single session. I have always found it money well spent.

This hospital, or certainly the section I was in, is a maternity hospital, so will at times play host to a bunch of hungry dads to be. With the canteen shutting on weekends (wtf? Babeis don't do weekends??) this means that any hungry dad with need to remain just that... hungry! It's three star, but barely. I may well update when the babe arrives!

I was told repeatedly that I couldn't possibly be in labour as it hadn't been long enough, given pethedine without being checked and as a consequence of that had a baby who wouldn't feed because he was too tired. I must give praise to the staff who eventually delivered my son. They were in the room within seconds of being called and worked quickly to avoid any long term damage to him. As a result he's a normal child despite having a very traumatic birth. On the post natal ward my baby was taken out of the crib and placed in an incubator without me being told anything and then when I visited the loo I came back to find him shoved up a random woman's jumper apparently they were trying to keep him warm! He was very sick and it was brushed off as just something babies do. I later found after a deal of upset and worry that he had gastric reflux and couldn't keep a thing down. My second visit was a whole lot more pleasant than the first. I had my baby at home and was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance to deliver the placenta. The ward was full when I go therethankfullyand I was given a birthing room in the midwife led unit for the duration of my stay. To say these were chalk and cheese would be an understatement. The staff were considerate, helpful, kind I was kept informed of what was happening with my daughter and was given ample opportunity to sleep. Down to practicalities. The hospital is in the city of Glasgow. There is a car park on site but it gets very full around visiting time so hope you don't need the hospital then. It's a fairly new hospital and is clean enough and has bedside TV/telephone things. You have to buy a card to watch TV or make a phone call. Best bet is to use the card to watch TV and pop outside to use your mobile for telephone. The food is ok, there's plenty to eat and drink. If you use this hospital I would recommend the midwife led unit without a doubt. It's much more relaxed and you're more likely to have a pleasant experience.

After a punctual arrival to the same day admission I was met with kind and welcoming nurses who took my name and got me seated. After a short wait I was met by the anaesthesiologist to go over the operation and then the surgeon. Both were well informed and kept me as ease. After a brief stint in the pre op room I was taken down to the bed I'd be knocked out on for a couple hours. I was wheeled calmly to the room, injected with some awfully cold fluids and work up two hours later feeling like a dog who just returned from the vets. Sore and feeling sorry for myself, I was met with dinner and drinks and just the most lovely team of dedicated nurses. minus leaving like I was walking 9 months pregnant and a little unsure if I can reproduce or not, I was well looked after and well fed. Only room for improvement is making the fluid pumped into me room temperature, maybe heat it up in the microwave before or leave it on the radiator. Cheers, Tim.
