Bill also missed telling me other tranny issues he should have seen when they looked at my car. He is dishonest, don't go there. It's not worth the hassel.

I got the vehicle back two weeks later and was THRILLED thinking the nightmare was finally over and I could move on with my life with my vehicle running smoothly. I was wrong. I only had my vehicle back for twenty minutes when I tried to start it and surprise it wouldn't start. I decided to try it in neutral and bam it started... It's the same issues all over again.... less than one week after having the vehicle back I had to have it towed because no power what so ever. I want to get in car and start it and it wouldn't start. My vehicle doesn't even have a horn. My biggest issue is it's starting in neutral, not shifting right or at all at times, it's jumping, barely has power at times, and I'm not sure what to do next other than file a lawsuit because this isn't what I paid for at all. This is supposedly the second rebuild on my tranny in 40 thousands miles and my vehicle recently hit 130 thousand miles. It's been nothing but issues with the SAME issues the entire time I've owned it and all I want is for the vehicle that I've paid a lot of money for to run smoothly and be reliable. Is that too much to ask??? I have kids and a sick baby that I can barely get to his appointments and it's a shame. I absolutely hate leaving negative reviews but in this case I must to try and save another family from going through what my family is at the moment. We were already struggling because we have a sick baby and we literally gave every dime, nickel, and penny we had to get our tranny rebuilt because we need our vehicle to get our baby to Penn State in Hershey and now we are out the money and still struggling with the vehicle.

I did end up driving to the other facility twice because it literally made me sick to my stomach to go to Dave's. Every time I went for service, I was berated for not bringing cash. One time, he literally yelled in my face. Three times that I did use my credit card, the total was incorrect. Always overcharged, of course. One time I was there when a different customer came for service. Dave stopped working on my interlock to service the other customer's interlock. Even after the other customer said he was not in any hurry, I went for one of my appointments only to have Dave tell me he had to go somewhere to do a job. I asked how long he would be gone and he said he couldn't tell me. He said it could be over an hour and if the shop closed before he returned, I would have to sit in my car and wait. I decided to return another day. At my last appointment, to get the device uninstalled, I was told it would take an hour and to come back. I returned in exactly one hour. The car was done, but now Dave was eating lunch. All he needed to do was ring me out so I could leave. Instead, he made me sit there and watch him while he finished his lunch and even fed his dog before he took the two minutes it required to ring me out. This was his last chance to be disrespectful and he was going to take advantage of it. If you want a garage that treats you with even a little respect and doesn't demand you pay in cash (shady), go anywhere but Dave Granteed's garage.

This review is based on @KristinH 's review below. It is out of control how people can…read moreautomatically think and defame someone's business because of paying in cash. I have been working in the automotive field and have cross referenced business with Dave for several years. Smart Start takes cash or card payments. Once a payment through their system is submitted, Dave or any other business using this system will be billed for the amount tendered. You call this shady? Please get a life. The money will be paid to them regardless so that throws that stupid comment right out the window. Do a little research on things before you decide to spit out ignorant comments. On another note, it seems like you had to go back to the office quite a few times while there were other jobs being performed. If you were late to an appointment or didnt have one and just showed up that's probably why. Mechanics have schedules just like everyone else. If those schedules cant be met then we move onto the next one to keep the day rolling. Same as any other business. I fully recommend Dave and his associates. Been working together for years and sending eachother business. All work is 100% and honest.

I would not recommend this auto shop. I go to places just to see their services and write reviews…read moreto help others... when I'm at your place of business I'm there because I've been told there an issue or it's a good place to go. I am very disappointed with my experience at this Firestone location. I brought my vehicle in for a check engine light. Before authorizing the diagnostic, I specifically asked whether the diagnostic would be honored if the same issue returned. I was told that it would. After paying the diagnostic fee, I was given a diagnosis that I questioned because I had already addressed that repair in the past. I explained my concerns, but I was assured the diagnosis was correct. The very next day, the exact same check engine light and code returned. I brought the vehicle back, and the service advisor told me there should be no problem rechecking the vehicle at no additional charge. He scheduled me to return the following day. When I returned as instructed, the manager informed me that I would have to pay another full diagnostic fee for the exact same issue. I explained what I had previously been told, but that commitment was not honored. While waiting, another customer came into the service area visibly frustrated, stating that he had returned multiple times for the same problem and had spent over $1,200 in diagnostic fees. I cannot verify his experience, but hearing that made me lose confidence in continuing with this repair. At that point, I requested my keys before any additional work was performed and left. I had also waited over an hour after my scheduled appointment before making that decision. Once I returned home, I used my own professional scan tool, researched the issue, and compared the diagnostic information with manufacturer resources and repair information. Within minutes, I identified what appeared to be the actual problem: the EVAP vent solenoid. I purchased the replacement part for less than $60 and installed it myself. The repair took only a few minutes because it was a simple plug-and-play replacement. After driving the vehicle, the check engine light cleared, and my scan tool confirmed the repair had resolved the fault. Based on my experience, I lost confidence in the diagnostic process at this location. I expected the original diagnostic to identify the correct issue or, at the very least, for the store to honor what I was told regarding rechecking the same problem. Instead, I was asked to pay another diagnostic fee before the original diagnosis had been verified. Also vehicle came back with more issues that were not present at all tpms sensors unlearned and door hinge is somehow broken.. these are items that are extremely unlikely to break due to just being replaced and or serviced correctly. This review reflects my personal experience so other customers can make an informed decision.
