He quoted about $10k and wanted half of the money up front which we paid. After minimal work being done he stopped showing up for the job and stopped work. In his last communication by text message he declared that he is not able to complete the job and recommended that we hire someone else. We have now hired another contractor who relayed that: Jerry Sylvester with Pewter Plumbing never obtain the required work permit(s) for the job, that only minimal work was actually done, that the material he used for the job was flawed and inadequate for the job, that the work done would never pass inspection, and that the piping he used was too small in diameter. At this point Jerry Sylvester is unresponsive and not communicating with us. In one of our last communications with him we offered to let him keep $1,000 of the deposit money, for him to refund the remaining $3,875, and to pickup any tools/materials/supplies left at our residence that we are now stuck storing for him. In addition, a recent online search for Jerry and his company revealed numerous complaints of him being a "con artist", that he "CONS VULNERABLE ELDERLY", and he does "shoddy work and abandoned the job". This guy is a DISASTER and any drama going on in his personal life will suddenly become your drama and problem too.
