    Culligan of Pine City

Wish zero stars was an option. We bought our home on Cross Lake in 2020 just in time to winterize…read moreit as we are seasonal residents. Before heading south, we signed an agreement with Culligan for water treatment (2 tank rental system due to space issues). We were told to just let them know when we needed the system installed in the spring of 2021. We scheduled the installation for April, and everything seemed good. In 2022 we also were able to schedule an April installation to coincide with our return to the lake. That summer, and in 2022 we experienced major inconsistency from month-to-month with the clarity of our water. Whenever we contacted Culligan we were assured that the tanks were property regenerated and that it must be something at our end. We were led to believe that we were the only customers reporting this issue, but we did have technicians tell us during delivery that many complaints were received during certain months. This year we received a similar schedule in Mid-March. I contacted the office and asked if we could have our initial delivery/install on the week of April 17th, since we were returning home for a family funeral. The answer was an emphatic "NO". No delivery before May 26th. I asked what changed and was told that corporate made the decision in view of the heavy snow and cold this winter. I asked how that could impact operations in the 2nd half of April and received no response. I asked if they are delivering to year-round customers in April and was told "Of course". I asked why the truck that was going by our home to the year-round customers could not stop on the way by and was told again, "No seasonal customers will have deliveries before May". After the discussion with Culligan, I contacted a competitor who agreed to install their system at our home on the day we arrived at the lake. The water color and quality is much better, and the customer service is much, much, much better. While the up-front cost was not cheap, our long-term costs will be less than with Culligan. Evidently, Culligan feels it is acceptable for customers to live with hard, brown water that stains laundry and fixtures for their first month of the season. We had heard that they were planning to get out of the tank rental business, which is fine. You would think that if this was their goal, they would offer incentives for current customers to switch systems, but this is not the case. The staff shows zero empathy for their seasonal customers and basically says "too bad, so sad". Seasonal residents: Run away fast if Pine City Culligan is looking for your business.

We also get the large bottles of water for our water dispenser.... again, we really are happy that our "Hey, Culligan Man" is carrying these into the house for us. thanks for the great service !!!!!!!

They send rude and unprofessional techs - one intimidating me and being confrontational in front of my two children WHILE INSIDE MY HOME. Strike two. The second tech misinterpreted my kindness for...? When he came back he kept asking about my husband and if something had changed. Strike 3. I was told there was an issue with the water softener and that they would contact for a service appointment. They never did. I had to reach out to them, and they have course came out to the appointment. They didn't tell me anything that they had done, left, and charged me $200. Surprise - it didn't even solve the problem. I had to wait until my new water softener was here, but I was thrilled to call and tell them to kick rocks. I am happily a Culligan customer and will continue to tell anyone and everyone a horrible experiences I've had with Gibsons. YOU CANNOT INTIMIDATE - HARASS - COME ONTO WOMEN IN THEIR OWN HOMES.

Only choice I had was to leave... service was poor and they thought that the lack of user readable meters for the chemicals meant that they could charge whatever they wanted. Turns out, they are under new management and they're clearly trying to gouge their customer base. Don't sign up... or get rid of them if you're an existing customer.
