I had a bath tub that was slowly draining . The plumber was very kind however when I called to get a plumber out, I understood the fee...i was asked what the probelm was and that was all. The plumber asked if I had a plunger.Yes, and I tried that and drano a few weeks ago. In five minutes , the plunger had the water flowing. No other faucet or drain was affected , just one drain. My bill ? $346.08...for a five minute plunging job using my equipment. Upon paying I was asked to take a plumber permit package for down the road. When I declined, he attempted to sell me a protection enrollment plan..and the bill would have been a little lower. Our a/c unit stopped working a few days ago. My boyfriend booked with Reliance and I was surprised that they were able to come the next day, which is the Saturday of August Long Weekend. I thought we would for sure have to wait until next week. Oscar was our service man and he was wonderful! As new homeowners he explained the importance of changing the filter and getting it cleaned- things no one tells you about until it's usually too late. He was very kind and explained what he needed to do and asked before he had to replace a part. Honestly after reading all of these reviews I wish everyone else had Oscar at their house. Do not use this company...HORRIBLE! Have had to call numerous times. They dont follow protocol. Never took out a permit for their work or installed proper... Poor customer service. Phone got disconnected said I hung up on them they didnt even call back and was waiting for me to call back...which was couple weeks later as I didn't hear from them. Do NOT use this company! I Had them come to look at my AC which wasn't working. The guy told me it was out of Freon and it was not fixable and needed to be replaced! This is a five year old AC! I called another Company who came and serviced it for 300 bucks. Now it's working great! They are crooks who just wanted to make the sale of replacing an AC that didn't need to be replaced! I had a new Furnace, Hot Water Tank and A/C installed in the fall. I have had service out a few times and they addressed NONE of my issues. I have talked to people from the company a few times about concerns, and have no assistance. It is so bad I truly feel my 50 year furnace was way better and regret getting it changed. Reliance DESTROYED my house. #1 the humidifier is extremely loud. You can not sleep while it is running. It kept me up all night for weeks until I had someone turn it off #2 the humidifier has to be manually turned on and off, they installed it in a tight corner I can not access. #3 the drain...instead of running it underground where the previous tube ran, they ran it up to the ceiling, along the ceiling and down... It is now full of Black Mold, I am allergic to all mold. Which they were told before install. #4 the venting pipes were not all glued together and have popped open venting into the house. #5 the venting pipe straps were screwed directly up through the subfloor into the hardwood, not into the joices #6 there are straps screwed up into the floor left hanging and not even attached to the pipes. #7 the copper pipes for the water tank were put in at an angle and when the tank is refilling, the copper pipe bangs on another pipe. read more

I strongly recommend people try not to use this business any more. Especially if you got contact with a guy look like an Indian from India named Jigar Vaidya. He deceived me terribly. He has sold me an air conditioner of brand name, Lennox with 10years of warranty which is not exist and not even possible. He sent his people to set up an air conditioner that I expected Lennox, but no named one that must be a lot cheaper than Lennox. I paid him $3,400 with my credit card at once. I was fooled and deceived by this ugly, naughty, and whatsoever man. He doesn't even show up this morning at the time he is supposed to be at my place. What can I do? We purchased a Lennox air conditioner through Reliance Superior because they had a booth at our local Costco. Once we signed the papers the Sales Rep wouldn't even return our calls to give us the information we needed for warranty. Due to faulty installation, we have had water leaking from the unit which has damaged our existing furnace's heat exchanger. We were told this when getting our furnace serviced. We have also had to replace flooring in our basement. I was assured that we would get a call back from the Service Manager in Winnipeg. That has not happened and all calls go to Toronto. read more

This company is the worst company for service and maintenance. I live in Winnipeg and this company has maintenence people who don't know what they are doing. I paid every month to have maintenance every year on my furnace and AC. They would do damage to my furnace and would have to get a different guy to fix it. I finally said enough and cancelled my maintenance plan. It took 2 days as they don't call you back. When I asked to have a credit for the amount I had already paid they said they couldn't do that. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - they incorrectly installed my new furnace and hot water tank, and it failed city inspection. It's been almost a month since the failed inspection, and now that they have to fix it, they keep missing appointments, and don't show up, or just don't get back to me, and again, today - they were supposed to show up to finally correct the problem and nobody showed up. They blame "miscommunication on the back end" - (which seems to be their favourite line) - I'm sure some people have good experiences with them if nothing goes wrong - but if ANYTHING goes wrong, they will drag their feet until eternity and make you waste your life waiting for nobody to ever show up. I will forever tell people to AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Every part of the organization screams "incompetent." ZERO stars would be a more accurate rating. read more

Buyer beware!! Don't make the same mistake we did. We were talked into the tankless hot water heater. Now we pay a monthly fee and never actually own the unit!! This is was never explained to us. Plus the tankless unit barely makes water hot and you have to run the tap for ever to get "hot water". When speaking to reliance we are basically stuck with this for at least 7 years!!! Or we have to pay out on a unit we don't even own!! They never come and service it so don't fall for the "all maintenance and repairs are included". In 3 years they contacted us once and that was to raise the price. Had a hot water tank rental with this company - Tank leaked so we had another company put in a tank - We had to return this tank to reliance superior - so they would cancel the monthly rent - The amount of paper work and legal documents was beyond comprehension - Even though a person dials a number you would think is in Winnipeg area code (204) you get connected to Toronto - and the nonsense begins - If you are going to get any HVAC work done - stick with a company that actually answers there phone in Winnipeg read more

Terrible service. I booked emergency furnace repair as it is -22 deg C and our heat is out. They said they will be there between 1 and 5 PM, so I had to take a half day off to wait for them. At 4 PM I decided to call and get an update, and they said they were there and no one was home so they left. They even claimed they called my phone ahead of time. I had no calls all afternoon, and was sitting on my couch right near the front door. They said there is nothing they can do, and tomorrow morning is the earliest they can send someone. The owner of this company sold us a furnace that is inadequate for our home. As the owner of James Wall Plumbing and Heating, before buying Reliance, my landlord needed to replace our broken furnace and these people sold him one that keeps shutting down while instructing us to call a technician. When we called in Reliance, they kept telling us, over and over, that because we like our home to be one or two degrees higher than "average" that we were overworking it. The person that was sent to our home then proceeded to alter the ductwork so that all the heat was directed to the basement and only one room on the main floor. It was the bathroom. Now it's too hot to use the upstairs bathroom and the rest of the house is way too cold. As James Wall, they sold us a furnace that they normally couldn't give away and as Reliance, they are defending James Wall. Meanwhile, I'm sitting in a freezing house, hoping that my pipes don't burst as the furnace is refusing to turn on again. This has been going on for three years now. We have put in an emergency call with another company but our fear is that we will have to replace THIS FURNACE AGAIN and we will be charged thousands of dollars that we don't have because the owners of these two companies robbed us with the first one. We will never use any company or service associated with these people ever again. We will also be telling this story to every person that will listen. read more
