Reliant Services is unreliable! They were scheduled to come to my home for an inspection but they were a no show! Not even a phone call or text to say they had trouble and needed to reschedule. We've been without hot water for 3 days. They knew there's an elderly disabled person living here and it was imperative to get the water heater fixed/replaced asap. Reliant deserves NO STARS but I was forced to post at least 1 star or the review would not post. Angel from Reliant Services came and the slow drainage of the bathroom sink. The 2nd issue was the kitchen sink had no cold water when turning on cold water. He fixed both issues today. He gave advance Notice of arrival and explained his diagnosis. This is the 2nd I used him in 4 months. read more

The issue was a clogged kitchen sink drain. Let me first state that everyone that I spoke with, and dealt with at Reliant Services were respectful, professional, and they were also timely. The first gentleman that visited spent a good amount of time attempting to fix the problem, and even replaced the drain fixtures that he said were improperly installed. He would later inform me that the drain system in the basement itself was also improperly installed, and would see if my home warranty company would cover the cost to replace it. The home warranty of course did not cover the cost, and everything moving forward would be out of pocket. I was told that I would need to have a second person come out to review the repair, and that it would cost $100 for the visit. This is where things went wrong. The first gentleman was already here, and took photos, why would there be a need for a second estimate? But $100 is $100. The second gentleman visited, and within 10 minutes of his visit diagnosed the same thing that was told to me by the first person. He then proceeded to tell me that the cost of the repair would be $1500. I Informed him, that I would not committing to that price today, and would get a second opinion. I then received a phone call after his departure to collect the $100 fee. Because 10 mins of looking at the same thing the last guy looked at was worth $100 bucks. I later called a repair buddy of mine, (should have called him first) to see if he can take a look at the problem. After 30 mins of work and him charging me $250, (he fixed my screen door too) the drain was cleared. The issue was a clog in the line going to the main in the basement. There is a trap there that can be opened so that the line can be snaked. I'm not sure if the issue was that Reliant had was a lack of experience, or that coming to my home, this fairly new business believed that $1500 would be an easy score. Either way if a handyman with a snake, and a drill, can clear a sink that had been working completely fine, prior to the clog for several years could diagnosis, and fix the issue in under a hour a company like Reliant should be able to handle that. In conclusion I would not and cannot recommend Reliant to anyone, and suggest if you do use them, be aware of the $100 fee just to come and see the problem, and get a second opinion on whatever estimate that you get. Thanks to Reliant I wasted $125 for the home warranty deductible, and $103 (just noticed that on my account they charged a $3 tax on the fee CTFU!!) Glad I didn't go further down their pricey rabbit hole. read more
