The practice room is bright and sunny... with floor to ceiling windows on 2 sides... and it can be way too sunny especially for savasana! There are 2 rooms one for heated and one for room temperature so they are able to offer a lot more varieties of classes! The change room is nice with 3 individual showers and all the things you need and more... So for some more advanced students, the instructors teach more advanced moves for them.

My classes met with approval, but seeing the inner workings of the business, it felt like anything but a safe and calming space. This all happens behind the peaceful shivasana (relaxation) and neck massages. I rarely write this sort of review, but seeing the tense, inner atmosphere of the organization, versus the calm, accepting facade, is just unacceptabe. The classes and instructors are good, and the training is solid. There is a falsity about this place that turned me off yoga once I saw through the facade. Sorry, but this was my experience. I hope to get back into yoga sometime soon, at a different place, for sure.

There aren't as many classes as a big chain or a gym but the studio has a much more relaxed vibe. I have NEVER heard anyone say to go until you feel pain - that is crazy! If you are looking for a rigourous workout, I suggest choosing Rays class, for a more relaxed low key session, Gina does teach very differently. Everything from the flooring to the soap in the change room is natural, and the wheat grass shots when offered are wonderful & fresh. I have brought co workers who are new to yoga to Asana, and they have felt welcome and catered to as Ray & Gina both take the time to address your specific needs personally and not make you feel "out of place" for not being an experience yogi! Rays classes are pretty rigourous, but the results are worth it .

You will get to know some friends really soon if you becomes a regular. This helps especially with the spacious and nicely decorated lounge area where you can have a cup of tea/coffee or even a glass of wine after the class and just chit chat! The practice room though is really small... can fit 10 yoga mats (remind me of having a class in my own basement, since there is not windows). With the small class size, you do get a lot of personal attentions....which is always great for any yoga practice. The therapeutic class I attended was just perfect for me as the instructor concentrated on and isolated movement mainly on the shoulder area. Wish the class is a little longer... 60 minute is just too short! If you want to experience a more personal and laid back yoga studio, In The Spirit might be perfect for you. BTW, they also serves food and wine since it is also a Wine Lounge... Yoga and Wine... maybe I just found my Bliss...
