Well, we arrived at this so called winery and it's closed. It looked like abandoned land. We were…read morevery confused since the website says they're still open. "by appointment only" is understandable, but that means who gets an appointment and who doesn't? Also, where is there a place for you to sign up on the website for the appointment. When you look at their website, it only asked for your full name, phone number and your address and to reach out to the "owners " And does it have to be so far in advance? So people visiting Oregon House don't really get to experience the wineries because it feels like it's only for the people they pick and choose. The ambience of the land was very sad. It looked deserted. There are other towns where there are "hard-working REAL people" and want to give their REAL time and REAL energy yes that means being open to the public! The owner wrote a review on me emphasizing "real people?" We all know this is a little odd when you think about the situation and you're actually there. We can't really give any star reviews because we didn't get any wine tasting or experience. When we were leaving, we did notice the land was for sale. Also, we drove up the hill. We did notice a big German shepherd running the field so like somebody still lives here but the business says it's still open very confusing. All of these wineries need to be more specific on their websites and need to have more information instead of being having people who are visiting get confused or waste their time.

Now, I don't know about you! But wine is wonderful. In my short time being of drinking age …read more.... and luckily before when I traveled in Europe. I have had to pleasure, and in some cases not such pleasure, of trying many wines! In that time I have discovered, I can drink your classic Californian wines, but they don't leave much of an impression on me. But European wines, with their many tones, and flavors (like in French Kiss) ... now that is fun. Gideon and Saron, on their humble property have managed to create some of the best old school, and some young school too, wines that are so exceptional. You find them in San Fransisco to New York,. And luckily for me, in my pantry too!!!!! Wonderful wines! Great people! What more can you ask for! Excellence in action!

From our very…read morefirst interaction, the staff was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to making our wedding day everything we envisioned. They were always available to answer questions, provide helpful guidance, and ensure every detail came together flawlessly. One of the standout features for us was the incredible Borrow Barn. The variety of décor available was impressive and allowed us to add so many beautiful personal touches to our wedding without the added cost and stress of sourcing everything ourselves. It played a huge role in bringing our vision to life. The property itself is absolutely stunning. The breathtaking scenery created the perfect setting for our ceremony and provided countless beautiful photo opportunities. Every part of the venue felt picturesque and helped create an unforgettable experience for both us and our guests. We are incredibly grateful for the outstanding staff and the thoughtful amenities this venue provides. Their care, professionalism, and attention to detail made our wedding day truly special. We would wholeheartedly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a beautiful, seamless, and stress-free wedding experience.

There was no reason for these people to keep 5k with as much notice as they had The ultimate bait and switch. Our experience began with pulling up to our appointment time to about 15 other people in 3 different groups standing outside in the rain. We approached and they informed us that we could go take a look around the property, (unguided, uninformed, and in the rain). When we returned to the front about ten minutes later everyone was gone and there was a person outside that informed us that we could take our shoes off and go inside the guest house with the ~15 other people that were there. We walked around by ourselves for about 20 minutes until we were finally approached by someone. At that point it was time to go to the "something borrowed barn". By the name you would assume what this is. No. It is a warehouse painted red to match the rest of the property. When they let you in the door you are actually entering about a 200sqft room with the 15 other people touring the property at the same appt time and are all expected to share ONE (1) mock decoration table in which you may choose decorations they have in two cabinets in the room for your wedding day. Upon further questions the linens on the table and displayed in the room you may choose all other decor from are only available for rental. I wish this was the worst of it. The icing on the cake (and what they failed to disclose prior to committing to them) is that they do not allow liquor without a super special ultra premium gold star bartender with a super exclusive lisence

I liked all three of their available reds; all of which had a fruity sweet flavor. Even the port was light and sweet; it did not have a strong alcohol taste. Atmosphere - Beautiful views!! And you can see as far as Tahoe. 13.5 miles off of 80, and you have to drive through some "back roads;" not an easy place to find. Good thing for 4-wheel drive and GPS. One of the few wineries in this area that is open 7 days a week from noon to 5pm; Thank you! Plenty of parking. You can also bring your own picnic baskets. :) It is so nice that you also host weddings here - 8 just last year! Service - Linda Clough (founder) is amazing. As we did not know our schedule today, we did not make an appointment, but I wanted to drive and check out the winery anyway. They let us in with no problems. :) The friendly employee greeted us as we entered the gate and called Linda to meet us at the tasting room. What service! Linda gave us a tasting, then suggested we get a glass while touring the vineyard. Then we relaxed on the patio overlooking the vineyards towards Lake Tahoe. What a great place to take a break from our road trips. We talked about our kids and that they both lived in Southern CA; I will be in Santa Monica in April, so hope to run into you there. :) Oh, and there is a friendly family dog who ended up joining us on the patio. Price - See pictures of the menu. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2000, I am sure we will see each other again.

The roads are slightly windy and mostly uphill to get here, if you get car sick you may want to take some dramamine beforehand. There is also a tasting room in downtown Grass Valley. There is a small tasting room and office across from the production area in the cul-de-sac entry. Linda was there to greet us upon arrival and gave us a background on each of the wines we tasted. We purchased a glass to enjoy in their beautiful picnic area and brought a lovely meal with us. We also had our two dogs with us, they thoroughly enjoyed themselves on the winery property (on-leash only, of course). The views from the picnic area are breathtaking! It was crystal clear on the day we visited, you can see all the way to Tahoe. Lots of tables to choose from on a large wooden platform surrounded by trees and vines, it was very peaceful and romantic. We enjoyed all of the wines we tried and bought a bottle of Cab Franc to take home. The sparkling Rosé was also really delicious and refreshing.
