That's exactly what Jessica Herberger did to me and my husband last August 9, 2014. When choosing vendors for one of the most important days of your life, it's crucial that you do not ignore red flags. I ignored many red flags after hiring Jessica Herberger to do my event design and florals, including several negative reviews on this site. I should have cut my losses when, just 10 weeks before the wedding, we had no design plan and Jessica no-showed for our first venue walk-through (after which followed a week of radio silence despite several calls, texts, and emails). Because I didn't, I spent my wedding reception fighting back tears as I moved from room to room seeing the design plan that Jessica and I had carefully discussed only half-finished where it was done at all. I also watched my mother scrape wax from dripping lanterns off of the ballroom floor in her wedding attire using our hotel room key, my father stand on a chair while trying to put out the flame in the leaking lantern, and my bridesmaid spend 20 minutes scraping wax out of her hair in the bathroom. Where was Jessica while all of this was going on? Gone. She had agreed to stay until dinner was served, but instead took off before I arrived and wouldn't answer her phone when our coordinator called. In fact, because she no-showed for our first venue walk-through and was three hours late to our final walk-through, I NEVER EVEN MET HER in person. But that didn't stop her from waxing poetic on her website about the "ocean breeze" after dinner -- the dinner she never saw. Whether through negligence or sheer incompetence, it was clear that Jessica ran out of time to finish our design plan. Her sister was frantically tying ribbons to pews as guests took their seats and my caterers had to finish the photo display. Having had access to the reception venue for 5 full days before the wedding, there should've been NO surprises and NO excuses for not finishing set-up. In post-wedding emails, Jessica did acknowledge that many of the design elements we discussed were not provided, and wrote that "reimbursement is being mailed directly to you." No such check ever arrived and my follow up email went unanswered. I'm writing this lengthy review not because it gives me any pleasure to relive the bad parts of my wedding, but because it's important to me that no other bride has to go through the same stress, regret, and disappointment on and leading up to her special day.     Completely horrible wedding planning/stylist company. Heard they used to have a different owner but…read morethe new woman is completely horrible and picks and chooses the weddings she wants to work with AFTER taking our money. Once we paid our deposit, we never had ANY help from her or her company. Instead all we got were excuses in the months leading up to our wedding trying to get out of why we haven't heard from them. We never even received the initial timeline in the mail that was promised to beginning our planning process! Not sure how they can sleep at night knowing they screwed over a couple that was planning their wedding and created more work for us instead of helping us along in the process. At least we found another great planner and our wedding couldn't have been better - no thanks to them! Still waiting on ANY kind of apology - what an embarrassment this company is.
