She wanted to help me. However, intentions are not enough. She was disorganized in sessions, unable to set or stick to goals, she wasted a lot of time, in the 9 months that I worked with her she never ran a standard protocol with me. It was a frustrating, expensive experience. In the end, she said that Lifespan wouldn't work for me and suggested I work with someone else in another modality. She did not have any thoughtful suggestions about what modality might be of benefit for my PTSD. She led me to believe that I just had a brain that therapy might not work for, which could have been very hurtful. I am grateful that I had a support network to run this idea by. They suggested I find a new therapist and I did. With my new therapist I've already done the Lifespan standard protocol. I've gotten much further within two weeks than I ever got in the 9 months with Susan. Again, I don't think Susan has bad intentions and I could even see her working for a certain kind of situation. Here's where I think she could be helpful: if someone just needed a non-judgemental listener, I think she'd be very good at that. But if you have specific mental health goals that you'd like to address, or if you need clear feedback, I don't recommend her and in my case, I have to say she negatively impacted my mental health.

I have full paralysis of one arm following a serious accident. The injury is in the spinal cord so it's irreversible. When I saw Wendy it was about 10 months post-accident and four months after being out of bed following a series of surgeries. My primary focus at that time was adapting to the changes and getting my life back, but a wrench was thrown into those works and I went to Wendy for support and solutions. She accused me of faking or exaggerating my disability for attention; lying about being married (this was profoundly bizarre); and desperately needing DBT when really what I needed was professional intervention and a legal advocate. The two sessions I had with Wendy were surreal. She was inappropriately fixated on my hair and what I was wearing, and made uncomfortable comments about my appearance, my disability, and my experiences. She demanded full records from my regular therapist (who actually did help a great deal with transitioning into disability) in a non-HIPAA compliant format and expressed anger when my therapist wasn't willing to engage. Her communication with the other therapist was not appropriate or secure and at the time I was encouraged to file a complaint with the state. I regret not doing this. If you are a woman, in an unsafe marriage, or living with a disability: please avoid Wendy. Her personal pathologies are splayed all over her work and, as the other woman reviewing her has said, the result is damage to the patient.

To become a licensed hypnotherapist in the state of Washington requires paying a $150 fee, filling…read moreout a 5 page application, passing a criminal background check and taking a 4 hour online AIDS class. There's no hypnotherapist training required to be licensed, no ongoing training required and no checks that you have any training prior to being licensed. And the sole requirement to keep your license is to keep your clients information confidential. Kristin doesn't list a single college degree, certification or class she completed. Her training according to her website is whatever time she spent as a patient of John Connelly and some online NLP classes. She doesn't even have a permanent office. She's not even trained by John Connelly like she claims on her website, you can go to Rapid Resolution Therapy's website and view all the trained providers, she's not trained by them. I paid Kristin $375 for one session (I paid by check so got the discount as she charges even higher rates if you use a credit card). I asked her if hypnotherapy could make me worse and she said "no." If she truly believes that hypnotherapy always helps everyone I don't think she understands what she's doing. She totally messed me up, like I couldn't talk for days or get out of bed and then when I asked her to reverse whatever she did to me she told me if I didn't like her to find another hypnotherapist and not to contact her again. I filed a complaint with the BBB asking Kristin to tell John Connelly what she did to me so he can reverse it. When I contacted John Connelly about what Kristin did to me they told me they reverse what hypnotherapists do "all the time". Unfortunately Kristin never responded to my BBB complaint. I posted a review on the My Mind Talk Facebook page about my experience, Kristin called the police and told them I was threatening to kill myself (I wasn't). So a cop showed up at my house for the first time in my life because either Kristin was so upset over the review she tried to throw me in a mental hospital as punishment for writing it or she was so concerned about me that she seriously thought I would kill myself from what she did to me, but not concerned enough to reverse what she did to me that created this problem. A few weeks later Kristin figured out how to remove the review plugin from her Facebook page so the review no longer appears. In my entire life I've never had the cops show up at my house or had someone tell me not to contact them again until I met Kristin.
