CHARGED ME OVER $120,000 for 2 small bathroom Reno,replaced existing kitchen lights with LED, $3300 for replacing window sills with quartz. Installed incorrect quartz, had to be redone Leak in new sink, did not seal linear drain resulting in smells, did not install holes correctly on new bathroom counter not leaving space for new faucet lift. Shower slope curb installed incorrectly drenched new floor tiles had to be redone,. Water dribbled from my bathroom into unit below. Scratches from tiler tools in my like new kitchen sink, confirmed by other pros I hired to repair their errors & incomplete work. Disconnected my fireplace had to pay to get it back. I had professional flooring company years ago, they never needed to disconnect my fireplace. HIRE A PROFESSIONAL THAT IS CERTIFIED by the Canadian Home Builders Association, Greater Vancouver Home Builders Association, Renomark, & the National Kitchen & Bath Association. RENOCON IS NONE OF THESE. I was duped by their leased showroom. They owe me $ I over paid. I have email that professionals told me to email them not to return for last couple 1000 dollars to fix deficiencies but this does not release them from their warranty They said opposite even though I still have the email..Shameless. I was very pleased with all the work completed under the guidance of Milan and Zami. I think both later left the company so I'm not sure of the quality of work of Renocon today but no complaints on my 2019 renovation. Very professional and responsive. I had flooring installed- The first estimate of material arrival was way off, the estimate of completion was worse than the "worse case" scenario completion date they gave me, they also delivered the wrong material to my home (further delaying completion), they also did not re-install my heaters properly, and left a bigger mess than I would call normal. Overall a big pain to work with (however, the floor looks great in the end) but working with them was a painful process and my "project manager" was rude and definitely mislead me in how long the project would take and even getting an apology was like pulling teeth let alone any act of kindness to make up for the delay, when they knew I was postponing moving until my flooring was done... Would never use Renocon again. read more

We went this company as consultation only. we had numerous meetings basically telling the same thing over and over and they were not getting it. In the end we got our design which wasn't complete and had to go back and ask again. We had been very excited and this put a major damper on our new build. Many aspects that were promised they left rooms totally open and didn't offer any furniture placements, electrical ideas etc. very disappointing..couldn't wait to be done and move on..... To say that our expectations in working with the Reconon team were exceeded, would be a great understatement! We are thrilled with how the entire reno project turned out. After purchasing a condo that hasn't been updated for almost 20 years, my husband and I decided to take on the stress of a renovation despite of many horror stories we have read and heard! We went in thinking we would be that one exception where everything would go perfectly smoothly. At the end of almost 4 months, we have to say "Of course, not everything was perfect. Things were really stressful. However, overall we are very pleased with the final products, quality and the working relationships with our contractor/designer, Renocon" The below describes our experiences with Renocon and we hope whoever is reading will find useful. We met Renocon at the Home & Garden show where we were looking for some flooring options. Compared to other flooring companies, they had a variety of options, which led us to visit them in their store in the following week. At the store, we met Milan, our project manager, who was able to give us high-level quotes on various renovation options ranging from low-end to high-end. What we liked about the first meeting with Renocon was that they were able to give us a rough idea about a typical duration and cost of a renovation, without insisting that they should have to see our place first before giving any estimate. At that time, we were just testing the water and wanted to get some ideas, so this worked very well for us. After talking to a few other reno companies (who were quoting higher costs or longer duration) and getting a referral from a friend on Renocon (pure coincidence!), we have decided to go with Renocon and also do an almost full reno (instead of just flooring, we decided to update the kitchen and two bathrooms as well). In our first on-site meeting, Milan came with a designer - Zami, a general contractor - Brad and a cabinet maker. They listened to our wants and desires but also had shared a lot of ideas based on their previous work, which was very helpful. Without going in too much details, we have spent the next close to 4 months working with Renocon to complete the renovation - our kitchen has opened up and fully re-modeled, our bathrooms have been fully updated including heated floors, flooring has been updated from old carpets to engineered hardwood flooring, we even added a few out-of-scope items such as changing the closet doors. The crew has been great! - Zami, the designer, is such a pleasant person to deal with. She has been so helpful in many ways - drawing a 3D design so that we can visualize the concept better, selecting a few options to make our decision easier, jumping in whenever we need help, and so on. She is also very positive and very customer-centric. - Brad, the general contractor, is one of the most trustworthy persons we have met with high integrity. He doesn't cut a corner and truly cares of the quality, even if this may mean he has to absorb some extra cost. Things felt bit slow sometimes with more focus on qualify, but we have no negative comment on putting more weight on quality. We'd rather wait 1 more day than finding out a quality issue later on. - Milan, the PM, has been great and very patient despite of my screaming sometimes . He's very quick at getting back and getting things done. I was giving him bit of hard time as I wanted to have more frequent updates on what's going on, but in hindsight, I was probably getting myself involved into the project too much and was being too type A. There are a lot of things that happened behind the scene and often these are taken care of, without necessarily being updated, so it's our advice not to panic and if more frequent updates are important to you, then ask for them up front at the beginning of project. Milan is very receptive to what a client wants and changes his standard project management approach to suite the client's needs. In summary, yes we have lost a few hairs and gained some wrinkles with our renovation. But, we had a great experience with Renocon & the team and are very happy with the final output. Great company! Golnaz Afkhami has been great at working with us to keep our budget in line while providing excellent, hands-on service. In addition to using our own contractors for certain things, we have also enjoyed having access to their great array of reliable connections which has kept everything moving along smoothly. I have found them to be extremely knowledgeable about both the aesthetic and technical considerations involved with our project. Overall, they have demonstrated that they are very experienced at what they do. I honestly believe having them on-board for our project has saved us time, effort and money. We probably spent close to $200,000 all in, but the results looks as though we spent even more. read more

I contacted this company for a free quote, as advertised on their website. They told me flooring + paint for a small 1 bedroom condo under 600 sq ft was going to be $20k+ (anywhere else would've charged me $5-6k). I knew I was being ripped off, so I asked for my deposit back. Their general manager wouldn't give it back and said they've already spent time on my condo. They never showed me anything or proved that they've designed anything. Instead, he kept lying to my face, originally saying I would be able to get my money back and changing his wording. I didn't think this company was this desperate to keep people's tiny deposits, last I checked, their business was in renovations. It's all smiles until it's time to hand over the money with these people. Don't ever use renocon, and never give them a deposit. read more

We contracted with Renocon Design Centre to complete a comprehensive renovation or our condominium unit located in a four unit Heritage Craftsmen Style building in the Mount Pleasant area of Vancouver. We originally discovered Renocon in 2016 when we attended the Vancouver Home Show and were impressed both with their well designed booth and their people who were very helpful explaining how Renocon managed the renovation process. Subsequently we met with Milan and Zami to discuss our renovation wish list and they were very helpful in providing design ideas, explaining the process, timing, cost etc. Prior to signing a contract we had several meetings both in their office and at our home to discuss the renovation. Having watched so many disastrous renovations on HGTV we were very leery of entering into a renovation contract however Milan took the time to allay our fears by providing references as well as a tour of a renovation that they were working on and we completed our own research by checking reviews on various web sites. We were impressed with the feedback we received and decided to proceed with Renocon. Our renovation involved the total remodel of our main floor including a larger re-designed kitchen, new flooring, new lighting and re-facing the fireplace. We also totally renovated our master bathroom and guest bathroom. During the entire process Milan and Zami and their construction crew were very responsive to our needs and addressed problems quickly and to our satisfaction. No renovation goes exactly as planned and the true test is how your contractor deals with issues when they arise. Throughout our renovation Renocon made sure all issues were dealt with promptly, clearly communicating our options and standing behind their work to ensure that we were happy with the end result.
