I first met Dick Rensch on a Sunday afternoon in April of 2006, it was a return phone call from Dick. We discussed our proposed cause of action over the phone and Dick was concerned from our conversation that we might be bumping up against the Statute of Limitations. I went to Omaha on the following Monday to meet and discuss the details. By Tuesday we had a renowned economist on board. By Wednesday we had our causes of action nailed down and by Thursday we had our claims filed a multi-million dollar Law Suit against two prominent Law Firms. That's right it was on a Sunday and by Thursday we had filed one of the largest civil cases in Nebraska history. Moving forward it didn't take me long to figure out the defensive games, delay tactics and lying that takes place when you file suit against a law firm, I'm now a formal authority on the meaning of "Arrogance" which came in the form of a thick cloud - coming from the Lawyers we filed suit against. From the out-set I knew the only way to win against "Arrogance" is to out-work your opponent and position yourself with solid offensive maneuvering. This is and was the advantage with us using the Rensch Firm - not too small to take on the giants and not too big to become just another case. We are now going on eight years with this firm and with the remaining part of this same case, I think I can say with a high degree of confidence that nobody knows the Rensch and Rensch Law team better than I. We knew from the out-set that we would all need to link arms and work together as a team. Many times Dick and Sean would work in excess of 24 hours straight and no less than seven days per week to finish up necessary loose ends, time sensitive documents and still maintain their other client base. Fortunately we were able to settle out of court with the first set of defendants, but only after we had them neatly and tightly backed into a corner from which there was no escape. The second part of the case against Law Firm #2 recently went to trial, (a three week trial) and the Rensch and Rensch Law Firm continued to represent us. We are still waiting for a verdict at the time of this memo, no outcome to report yet.
