Renville Park is a lovely place for a walk. There are miles of trails within the park, some very open overlooking Galway Bay and some very secluded in the woods.
The park has a fine children's playground, particularly for small kids. There are slides and various obstacle areas. There is also a picnic area close to the playground with toilets across the road.
The park extends to Galway Bay Golf Club and if you cross the road you can walk right down to the sea and return to the car park via the sailing club.
The grounds are very well maintained with excellent pathways and grass well cut.
There is a large area beside the car park where kids can play football and generally run free.
Well worth a visit. read more
Galways best kept secret. This spot has everything- a castle, a tower house, the ruin of a former 'big house', a great playground with BBQ and picnic area, a duck pond, the coastline, boats, exercise machines, an ice cream truck, a coffee truck, the woods, lots of green space and nature. Pick a new direction each time you visit and let the many pathways bring you somewhere new. read more
