I spoke with Jonathan and he is friendly and knowledgeable as ever. I stated that I needed to get a major factory service maintenance done but I also wanted to get a few other big ticket items done. He wrote up a quote and texted it to me within the hour. I was able to text Jonathan back and confirm an appointment. Since the service was going to take all day I inquired about utilizing the shuttle back home. Jonathan let me know that they offer a service where they're able to pick up my car and deliver it upon completion. As a parent, not having to load up the car to spend hours at the mechanic is a blessing. Fast forward to service day and Elliot picked up the car promptly. Later that afternoon I get a text showing their inspection report with PICTURES taken of OEM items used, air filters, tire levels, brake pad levels, etc. Talk about TRANSPARENCY. Kudos to Royalty Auto Service. I've never had a dealership or mechanic do that. So amazing job! Once service was completed I got a call to schedule payment and for vehicle drop off. Paid my invoice online and 20 mins later my car is being backed up into my driveway. I didn't get the name of the amazing young lady (sorry) but she was amazing. My neighbor recommended them highly as he takes his vehicles there so I thought I'd give them a shot. My initial contacts were with Jonathan and Jim. Jonathan told me that they would do an inspection of the vehicle to determine what kind of service may be necessary besides what I brought the car in for. To my amazing surprise they did a full nose to tail inspection of my vehicle with detailed photos and suggestions for maintenance and must do servicing. I dropped off my car and got a ride back to my home by a young lady by the name of Carrie and a young man named Elliot. My experience to that point was incredibly positive as they were all very professional and thorough. Both Chris and Jonathan kept me posted as we went along as to the status. I picked up my car once completed, and the car was completely cleaned throughout. It he rose on the dash was a nice touch of class. The moral to the story is you get what you pay for. Most older Volvos can have their keys programmed by a third-party locksmith--it's hit or miss depending on the model. Newer Volvos, typically 2015 and up, absolutely require dealership access to program keys, which can cost several hundred dollars. I called around to about 10 other locksmiths, and none of them wanted to touch the Volvo. Eli, on the other hand, immediately said, "I'll give it a shot. I'll cut the key, and if it doesn't work, I won't charge you." He showed up on time, was communicative, polite, and professional. Although the key couldn't be programmed to the car (a known challenge with some Volvos), he still managed to cut the exact key I needed--and left a great impression. I…read morehired him to fix what started as the starter in my car which led to the flex plate then when we got all the parts in he had ordered the wrong bolts, he took them told me he was going to trade them in for the right ones, and the next thing I know he's telling me to send him more money so he can order more bolts. And honestly, I haven't seen the bolts that I bought or the ones that he supposedly bought , so I honestly think that he put the old ones back in which you're not supposed to do. And all he did was put the flex plate in and put my transmission back on so he could get his jack from under my car. he told me he needed one nut to finish working on the car promise to be back the next day and I have not seen him since and I believe I am missing some wires. Definitely the screw for the nut. There's something hanging under my car, he never put the starter back in, he swore up and down that he didn't do shady work and he got me every which way he could I've probably given him about $1000 and that's not including what I paid him to fix the car. He's also stole my cell phone on top of everything else . I am so scared to have another mechanic look at my car now!
