I was approved for an unsecured loan then it turned into a secured loan using my paid off vehicle. Sent them all the info they requested. Did a verification call on my home phone and both of my cell phones. They said everything looked good and that was all they needed. I received an email a few minutes later stating the loan was denied because they were unable to verify. I even sent in my DL and a video of myself. What more do they need to verify me. Being "preapproved" for a loan means a lender has given you a conditional commitment to lend you money for a specific amount, assuming your financial situation and the property (if applicable) remain consistent and you complete the loan application and final underwriting process. Well not to Reprise. It is their opportunity to lie and manipulate you into a higher interest loan and make it a secured loan. Don't walk, but run. Dont consider and skip this company. I have other options that I can exercise in 6 months. I am paying for a loan that equates to a monthly payment double what Reprise offered or wait didnt offer but lied about. I'll just say this, yes it feels like a scam. The people there rush you, but if you have trash credit (raises hand) this is what you should expect. APR is going to be terrible, they bring you in with a low APR then when your credit gets pulled it goes way up. I was pre-approved for a 15.9% APR, then when I go to get the load 34.5%. This company offered a great interest rate during a preliminary and soft pull process provided all my documentation was accurate. After agreeing to the deal and allowing a hard pull they increased the rate by 10%. I provided proof of everything I said in the pre screen and was not offered the deal they agreed too. Reprise is taking payments without authorization and from the wrong account. What are my legal actions?

I was a victim of the old bait and switch with Reprise Financial. They offered several loan options and I chose one that was at 12% APR. I wasted hours with them answering questions, uploading documents and getting them a payoff on my car only for them to switch the rate to 30% APR at the time of contract completion. Do not fall for this! They are not ethical! When I called them on their fraudulent business practices, they dropped the rate to 25%. They must be kidding! I have good credit and entered into the agreement for 12% as a debt consolidation loan. As a result I now have a hard credit pull on my credit report which lowers your credit. I would never have agreed to 25% let alone 30% and resent the hit my credit took for a scam offer! read more

They reach out offering an auto equity loan. I contacted them and they verified they loan money on vehicles you are still paying on. Gave them all the vehicle info, my info, everything. Was told everything was good to go. Take the hard credit hit, we got the info we need the decision is made. Then they call, ask what color the car is, and say they cant do the loan without paying the car off. CreditKarma as a the garbage company it is, should take a hit too. Extremely frustrated with this company and loan process. I was pre-approved (through their website) for an unsecured $10,500 loan for debt consolidation at 20.1%. Completed the full application which put a hard pull on my credit and they came back with a $4,500 unsecured loan at 32.5% THIRTY TWO. I don't even have that bad of credit but, thanks to them, it's worse now. They need to be WAY more transparent when pre-approving before letting a loan application hard hit credit. Bait and switch scheme. I was offered a minimal personal loan of $4,000 at 23 % by mail. My reason to be interested in it was to pay some credit card balance that currently pays more interest on the debt. I never requested this offer, it was a pre approved offer based on credit information they got of me. I opened the letter, scanned a code and began filing the required information. It specified that unless I accepted an offer, a hard enquire in my credit wouldn't be pulled. My credit has not changed in the last 90 days or so. Well, they did an enquire to Experian and came back with an offer to make me an automobile collaterized loan. So I ended with a hard credit enquire to Experian and an offer I would have never enquire about due to lack of interest and an excuse by one of their employees named Sharika that explained to me the legal technicality justifying their act. DECEPTIVE LENDING PRACTICE! 1- They do a hard pull on your credit. Don't believe their pitch that the credit inquiry they run won't affect your credit score. It does!!; 2-I applied for a $ 5 K loan clean loan recently which they approved online, payable in 36 months at 27.5% p.a.. Thereafter I signed the PN online, indicating the monthly payment and scheduled date of payment. They said to just wait for the funds to be credited to my account; 3-Thereafter, they asked for bank statements which I submitted; 4-Two days after, they asked for bank statements again, and so I called their office; 5-This time the office representative asked for my current paystub. Then he said never mind because he realized that I already sent my bank statements; 6-THIS IS WHERE IT GETS INTERESTING! The representative asked me the year, make, and model of the vehicle which I am offering as collateral for the $ 5000 loan !!!!!! 6-Naturally, I said what the ######## was he talking about? He said that my $5000 loan was supposed to be secured! When I protested SAYING THAT i ALREADY SIGNED THE PRO NOTE ONLINE, he said however that INSTEAD, I could borrow up to $ 11,000 unsecured loan, payable in 48 months at 35% p.a.!!! 7-I told the representative that I don't need $ 11,000, and that I already signed the documents for a $5000 clean loan, payable in 36 month at a much lower rate! Why on earth was he offering me a higher amount, with a much higher interest rate and payable with a longer term!!! 8-He couldn't explain why. They seem to have forgotten to tell me that interest was compounded daily so you may end up taking a very long time to pay it off. These people are a fraud and a scammer just to get out personal information they need to be investigated and that misleading fraudulent credit pull deleted from my account! I have a recording where Mr. Ryan told me I was approved and I have a copy of the contract. These people needs a class action lawsuit against them! I'm changing my account and adding a fraud alert on my credit report. I also spoke with, Ms Yukon if I'm spelling her name correctly on May 8, 2023 who admitted that Ryan did tell me that I was approved. I also spoke with Ms. Linda on May 7, 2023 who informed me that I was able to use my mother Social Security as long as my name was on/ me being over her check which I am and provided them Social Security paperwork as proof and May 8. 2023 later that day around 2:49 p.m. Mr. Ryan told me that Reprise Finance didn't need anymore paperwork and what I had sent them was good and my mother's income made me approved for the $4500.00 and had me to sign a contact form for the money which I did while him and I was on the home which is legal and binding by law! I went through the whole process of filling out application forms and subm all documents and was told I'll be getting a call to confirm and sign the paperwork. Then I got a email saying they need pi of my car and title and I didn't want to use my car as collateral then they said I would need to show an additional $5,000 month in income. I already showed I made $3,000 month income. So to borrow $5,000 they required me to make $8,000 month income.
