This facility has kind people who are doing their best, but are completely inept at the services they claim to provide. Dr. Hutchison and his team are not using current best practices, but decades old approaches. When I went to another provider, he was horrified at what was done to me at this facility. I later researched this for myself and it was all true - I went through procedures that were the exact opposite of what research clearly shows I needed. Working with this facility was a waste of time, money, and emotion. You (or your partner or family member) deserve better. If you have anything unique about your situation (age, PCOS, endometriosis, etc.), please find another provider (there are several with much better results in Phoenix). The good reviews on here are likely from young patients with known challenges and I'm sure he can deal with these. read more

After spending nearly a year getting "care" from another MD in town, I finally met with Dr. Hutchison and his staff. I felt like I was provided honest and straightforward information about my issues and options. They were all very open-minded and willing to explore options that were important to me, but were also very forthcoming and realistic. I recommend this facility fully!!! I am currently 11 weeks and 3 days pregnant! My husband and I tried for over a year with no luck! Until August of this year we had our first BFP, which ended in a chemical pregnancy. I was devastated. It wasn't until I saw Dr. Hutchinson he diagnosed me with hypothyroidism and borderline PCOS. He assured us that these things can be fixed. I took the right medication for my thyroid, I ate the proper healthy diet, and took medication for ovulation. After four cycles we were pregnant. This fertility clinic is one of the most honest and cost effective IVF treatment facilities in the United States. Dr. Hutchison and Holly and her staff were all amazing and helped us through the entire process helping my wife and I get pregnant with our first child!! Extremely helpful, they answered all of our questions and concerns and helped us administer our fertility program. We came from Los Angeles to Arizona based on their 20+ years of expertise in the field, and they came through a personal reference of ours. Plus, they really care about their patients and provided us with specialized care based on our fertility needs. It didn't feel like we were buying a used car, unlike one of the other doctors we had seen previously. BTW, Reading the other review on this page are oddly suspicious as they both are 1 star reviews from people with bad grammar, both plugging a Dr. Amols in Mesa, AZ. Where to start. It has taken me exactly one year to write this review due to grieving and anger from a transfer that ended in an ectopic pregnancy leading to removing a fallopian tube. I was a patient of Dr.Scot Hutchinson where I saw him due to unknown infertility, the small percent of us women who just can't conceive naturally. In the beginning the office and MD were amazing. It was after my transfer that everything took a turn. I transferred what my husband and I found to be our little miracle. To hear that my transfer was confirmed, I received a call with attitude from a front desk clerk; not even a licensed practitioner. Dr. Hutchinson did than call me to tell me I was indeed pregnant and to follow up with my normal OBGYN when they saw fit. This would be when you go in for your first ultrasound. So absolutely no monitoring from that point on. This is where my nightmare started. I started to develop severe abdominal and perianal pain. I called the office multiple times for again not a licensed practitioner to call me back and tell me "this is constipation pain take Metamucil" again I am not a high risk patient, still did not want to bring me in to be monitored, just to take Metamucil. A week goes by, I never receive a phone call from Dr.Hutchinson. I get the same excruciating pain and at this point I call out of work and beg for the clinic to see me. I go into the office for them to do labs, and Holly, again not a licensed ultrasound technician does a vaginal ultrasound on me to tell me IT IS NOT CONSTIPATION IT IS AN ECTOPIC PREGNANCY. THERE IS NO ONCALL PHYSICIAN TO VERIFY, Dr Hutchinson could not be reached by phone and I have to go to the ED. At the ED I wait for hours for the worse news of my life to be delivered. Now when you have an ectopic pregnancy there are two choices: to remove the fallopian tube or to take a medication to basically abort the pregnancy. I was naive and in such distraught I just wanted to hear what Dr.Hutchinsons advice was. After all this I still trusted him. Still no phone call, and I get a call from Holly stating I "most likely have a faulty fallopian tube and it is there opinion to remove the tube." So I did. Till this day, I have never once heard from Dr.Hutchinson. Not even to call and see how I was doing, check on my surgery, nothing. How I felt? I felt like as soon as he got his pay day, he was done with me. The worst part I am an RN and my husband was a medical student. Coming back home to California I met with multiple REI physicians, which monitor their patients closely for the WHOLE FIRST TRIMESTER. As it should be. To the staff and licensed practitioners of this office: DO BETTER! LISTEN TO YOUR PATIENT! CHECK ON THISE WHO HAVE LOST! Just because you already got your pay day does not mean we are still not under your care, and aren't your patient. Shame on you. read more

He took the time to discuss the options with my husband and I, answered all the questions. He's knowledgeable, patient and extremely helpful. He provides an outstanding service! Dr. Scot Hutchison and team are an amazing group of individuals. We traveled from out of state because Dr Hutchison is one of the most innovative and up to date IVF doctors in the west. He pulled out every stop he could to get us a baby including new tests that weren't being performed at a nationwide level including the local university in our area. His approach and knowledge has given us the most wonderful gift, a baby girl due in June. My husband and I began our fertility journey in our home city of Las Vegas and were not impressed. We could tell they only cared about how much money they could squeeze out of us and the doctor was rude and condescending. Luckily, my husband found Dr Hutchison. I saw three specialists in the University of Arizona hospital before being referred to Dr. Hutchinson. He is a rare find. He is very knowledgeable, smart, attentive, and efficient. He respects you as a patient and carefully listens to your concerns. Plus, we got done in one visit more than what would have taken 3 full months of hospital visits (no exaggeration). If I could give zero stars I would. Let me start by saying I am comparing him to the doctor I had to go to after my failed ivf cycle at his clinic. The first problem is Joan, the front desk lady, she's very rude and has a cold disposition...or maybe it's just the glass window they have in the waiting room that you have to stand in front of staring at them until they open it like a check cashing place in the ghetto (but after my experience there I suppose they need that security window for all the upset customers) they treat you like a customer not a patient)). It became apparent pretty quickly that they were just trying to get money from us for him and his other doctor buddies and not help us have a family. The doctor suggested I get an exploratory surgery that I didn't need before he would see me. I thought it was just a suggestion so after a week went by with no news I called his office for an update on the next steps. Joan answers and says in a nasty tone "well did you get the surgery?" As if they'd been waiting on me..i said no and her response was well he says you need the surgery. So I got the surgery and what do ya know we found out that I needed ivf which we already knew. I had to keep calling his office for updates they never called me. The doctor did not get me pregnant and I still had to pay about $2500 plus my meds. There is a much better doctor in Mesa Dr. Mark Amols. He got me pregnant in one cycle and I'm pregnant again currently with twins!! read more

I want to start by saying that I have written one other review in my life. I'm not big into it, but this is a situation that I think every couple in need of services like this needs to be informed of. I've read many other reviews about this particular doctor, and i feel that my situation is different, but still very common. The only reason we were seeking help was because I had my tubes tied 7 years ago and we didn't want to have a reversal. All of my numbers for my blood work leading up to IVF were great. I was 34 at the time, BMI 28. I loved everyone at the clinic that I dealt with (i.e Carol, Holly, and the doctor). What I thought was great, which I later learned was not, was that I had my calendar with my appts. way in advance, and nothing changed through the whole process. Since I was traveling from out of town, and work full time, I was very excited about it. I also thought the price compared to other clinics was awesome. Fast forward to the actual IVF cycle, I stimmed for 10 days, which I already knew was happening for about a month in advance. I was prescribed Menopur, Follistim, ganirelix, and pregnyl (please excuse my spelling if incorrect). The only things that changed were rather than 4 ganirelix that I knew about up front, I ended up using 5, and instead of triggering with pregnyl I triggered with Lupron. I had 3 appts. between day 1 and day 10, also scheduled about a month in advance. My Estrogen level at one point towards the end was over 4000. My dosages on meds never changed. Retrieval day I had 26 follicles, and of the 26 only 13 eggs. 12 fertilized, and by day 3 there was only like 3 or 4 good embryos left and they all arrested on that day. I had never even heard of that happening. (my fault for not doing more research). Later, like a couple of weeks later I was ready for answers and I called and spoke to Holly. Again she was very nice, but basically in very nice words she said it was probably my fault because of my weight, and I needed to go on a "whole foods or real foods" diet. They wanted to see how much weight I could lose and I should try again in about 4 months and I would be getting a large discount for the second time around. Now my thought at the moment was, hmmmm wonder why you never mentioned weight before we started if it was such a big deal and turn $10,000 into nothing. In my head I personally couldn't get out of my head why if I had 26 follicles was there only 13 eggs? In my heart I just felt it wasn't my fault, and I really felt it was a lab problem. Not being a doc, I had no way of knowing, but that's just what I thought. Originally we had all intentions on using this doc again, but only for the price. Finally I told my husband, I don't feel good about going back to this clinic, I think the same thing will happen. He agreed and I started researching. I found Dr. Amols in Gilbert AZ. I can spend alllll day reviewing him, but I'll do that under his name. He had no idea what clinic we had used 1st, and he didn't want to know. He just wanted to know the process and what happened. He said after telling him everything that he wouldn't work with us period if my husband didn't do a semen analysis. He was shocked that one hadn't been done the first time. He also said it had absolutely nothing to do with my weight, and it had everything to do with the doc not letting my eggs mature enough. The biggest red flag for him was the 26 follicles and only 13 eggs. He said that just shouldn't have happened. He said I needed to be monitored more closely. We ended up using him and last Tues was my retrieval. Starting on day 3 of stims, he saw me everyday, and changed my meds a little bit everyday also. I stimmed for 11 days rather than 10 and my estrogen stayed below 2000 the entire process. On retrieval day I had 19 follicles, and he pulled 19 eggs. On day 3 I still had 16 embryos, and on day 5 they were able to freeze and biopsy 9!!! If you're going through this process it is definitely one of the most emotional processes ever. I promise promise promise you need to call Dr. Amols. Read every single one of his reviews on every single review website. You'll be happy you did. He truly is one of the nicest, kindest men you'll ever meet, and he will give you every bit of time you need and deserve. read more
