REVISED: After the original review below Corsa called me…read moredirectly and offered to make things right without question. They refunded me the cost of the bike rental and I assured them I would be a return customer. Awesome response from Corse ------------- ORIGINAL POST Have been here twice in the last few months and both time the staff were friendly and helpful. This time we rented two bikes with my Girlfriend and when my back was on stand getting the pedals put on I noticed the chain was caked in dirt. I didn't say anything assuming they knew what they were doing. When the bike came off I checked the brakes and they felt pretty worn to me with late engagement. I asked the guy who had it on stand and he said they were good to go. We then drove over to half Nelson and the second I rode the bike I noticed that the top click on the shifter would bring the chain off the top chain ring forcing me to get off and fix it. I then had to be careful not to shift past top chain ring but it turned out top chain ring actually skipped under load so I had to go one down from that. When I got back to shop I told them bike needed major tune up to which the same person that had it on stand said well you had fun right? Which I said yes I did and then he sent us on our merry way. I would've expected an apology and a discount given bike was clearly not serviced or even checked before we rented it.

I'd give this place a zero, but I have to settle for 1 star. I am visiting Squamish for 10 days and…read moredecided to pick up a bike on Marketplace. The next morning I found the back tire flat, so I walked it over to Corsa Cycles given their proximity to where I was staying. So, with bike in tow, I was directed to the back where the service stations were. There was already 2 people in line before me with nobody remotely close to the area. As we were waiting for anybody to show - another few people got in the queue for service and still no Corsa employees in the area. After about 10 minutes, somebody wandered up to the register asking if he could help the people in front of me. We found out quickly he could not since he'd been there only two days. While he was talking to the people in front of me, I noticed a person standing in the doorway talking to somebody I could not see. Said person looked over several times and could see a queue of 5 people waiting, but did nothing. Finally, the new guy went back to the doorway for help, and amazingly, 3 other people emerged from behind the doorway. Some guy, whom I'll assume was the highest ranking person of the 4 employees, blew off the first couple saying he'd have to order the part and didn't want to because they were in the process of moving. I stepped up with my bike and asked if they could quickly put in a new tube, to which he replied no, they were too busy and they had to prepare for the move next week. It was apparent to me that this individual didn't want to lift a finger to help anybody at this point in time because of the big 'move' activity they were all engaged in. I laughed a bit given there was NOBODY working on anything and 4 people standing in a doorway for at least 10 minutes. Worst case, it would have taken somebody 10 minutes to install a new tube. All that aside, what really pissed me off is what occurred next. I told him I was just visiting for 10 days and didn't know the local businesses yet, so I asked him where I could actually get my tire fixed. He knew exactly what type of bike I had and what kind of tire tube I was looking for - and knowing all that, this guy gives me the Bluebird Coffee Tuning and Rentals place. This place, as I would find out when I walked into the door, sold/rented/serviced nothing but RAD electric bikes. So, this Corsa employee, knowing I was new to Squamish, knew the Bluebird shop could not help me, sent me there anyway. There are some adjectives I'd like to use in this review, but it would distract from the point of horrid customer service and abject arrogance of this person.

Okay everybody this is British Columbia,Squamish BC to be exact. There is a famous slogan, "Do as…read morethey do in Rome". So when in BC get up and and let your inner ruggidness out and enjoy the fury of the wild. That said I am so glad I did not spend time in Vancouver all day. Since I am an AAA member and they do have an account with Viator, I looked at various activities I could possibly do in BC like fishing, rafting etc. However, I remember that waves can be very strong in September in this area around this time, and if you want to go fishing I have to call and pay for a British Columbia fishing permit. So I decided to do a kayaking trip and I had such a blast. Now I could have gone to Whistler, but choose Squamish as my destination because it was closer to Vancouver (65km north of Vancouver). Upon my arrival I met two professional and highly adept representatives of "Sea To Sky Adventure". The first woman I met was Elise ( Sorry if I got the name wrong). Elise was a very kind and capable driver. Second woman was my instructor and tour guide Amy. Elise drove us across town to Howe Sound. Once we got to Howe Sound I learned I was the only person in this tour so I had a lot of time. This was when Amy took over. Amy thoroughly instructed me on maneuvering the kayak on to Howe Sound and let me tell you it was gonna be the beginning of a memorable trip. As we proceeded into the water, we kayaked all around the bay. Amy did a great job in making sure that I am safe. She not only instructed me on getting around in the Kayak, but also guided be around Squamish. She showed me "The Chief" a significant granular structure, Shannon Falls, the import ships, the gondola that goes up the mountain and the estuary. We also saw a Harbor Seal popping its head above the water as well I just had such a blast the weather was calm. It was early in the morning and the place was placate and serene. As I learned from Amy morning times are the best time for kayaking because waves are much more subtle and therefore easier on the arms. That whole morning was like an escape from the real world of pressure, Type A personalities, and malicious cadiness of our 9-5 lives. Thank you Sea To Sky and most of all thank you Amy for being an outstanding Kayak instructor and tour guide and Elise for being a great driver as well.

In retrospect, this family of four - 17yo girl, 12yo boy and two 59yo parents - very happy about that because it led us here, which is also known as Dialed In Cycling. The bikes were less expensive to rent and the personalized service by an experienced rider - rather than the kids working the front counters at the big places - made it an even better value. Dan took care to make sure the bikes were properly fitted and have us the instruction we needed. We're from Portland and didn't want or need a tour, just a good bike, some friendly advice and the trail forks app. Dan, the person we worked with, was great. Looked at us, guessed accurately what we would be able to accomplish in the four hours we had, and gave us the perfect route to experience easy and moderate BC mountain biking trails that were fun and gorgeous. In addition to all the other positives, they are closer to the trails than other shops so you can park and ride up into the wilderness right from the shop. Note that this is mountain biking so socialize your kids to the fact that they will need to go up to go down.

There are a plethora of bike shops around the Whistler area, and when you search online, this is…read moreone of the more recommended shops due to it being one of the few local, independent shops still around. I'm all for supporting local, but this shop has proved why large conglomerates are able to take over areas so easily. Being a small, independent shop doesn't mean you can get away with providing shoddy services and rude attitudes to your customers, as this place does. I rented a V10 here to ride at the bike park earlier in the summer, and I thought I was being pranked with how poorly tuned the bike was for my weight and size. It's as if they tuned it for a 300+ lb bodybuilder. I inputted my weight (140lbs) and height on the registration sheet, and it seemed to be completely ignored. I get that bike parks are extremely rough on the bikes, but practically maxing out the suspension and tire pressure will do nothing but provide an extremely poor rider experience and also risk injury. Maybe that's the strategy: wear out the riders by practically giving them no suspension so they ride less, resulting in less wear and tear on the bike? I consider myself an advanced rider, and as I did my first run down Crank It Up, I couldn't help but wonder if riding down cobblestones in Paris Roubaix on a tireless road bike would've offered a smoother experience as I was getting absolutely beaten to shreds on the bike. My buddy, a former bike shop mechanic, tinkered around with the tire pressure and so on before we brought it back to the shop to get the bike further adjusted. We were introduced to the presumably lead mechanic, the older Australian gentleman. As we explained the situation and what we did, he began to talk down to us for tinkering with the bike because we could have done some irreparable damage. I get that there are people who foolishly think they know more than they do, but I can't even wrap my head around how much damage we could have done taking air out of the tire or adjusting the compression on the fork. We had a four-day rental and brought the bike back four times within the first two days (not including the returns where we voiced our thoughts) with the same exact complaint before the Australian mechanic seemed fed up with us and decided to check out the suspension, only for them to realize that the bike had a completely damaged suspension and that it needed to be replaced. When you're paying more than $200 a day for a rental, you expect some level of service and functionality from the tool that you're using. Unfortunately, that was not the case for me. Despite all of the "adjustments" that were made, I felt like I was cosplaying as a first-day jackhammer operator riding that bike. My forearms and hands were absolutely beat because of the lack of a working suspension system, and I was mentally drained from the dread I endured knowing I would have to go back to the shop each time for adjustments and endure a condescending interaction with the mechanic. I'm sure the bike shop deals with beginners all the time who have a hard time conveying their experiences or blame the bike for their fatigue when, in reality, it is the physical nature of the sport. However, I ride multiple times a week, have no issues riding some of the more technical parts of the mountain, and conveyed this information to the bike shop, expecting them to be a bit more sympathetic and provide even a baseline level of customer service. Unfortunately, that was not the case. There were several other bike shops that my buddy and I stopped by within the Whistler Village that treated us better than Evolution, despite them being conglomerate-owned. I'm all for supporting local, but I can't in good conscience recommend this place, especially to beginners. With the way they set their bikes up, someone can seriously get injured or worse. If you receive even double the service I did, you'd leave disappointed and feel like your money was wasted. This bike shop is sadly an extremely poor steward of the sport and strongly highlights the negative, pompous attitude of biking culture.
