I seriously hope the board of directors never wake up at the time they wish, but 3 hours sooner, with their first thoughts being "garbage." Garbage life. Garbage existence. Garbage noises. Garbage towns. Garbage cities. Garbage culture. Just wake everyone up in this entire town, before 6a.m. with your loud trucks, careless drivers, and absolute disregard for the communities in your work areas. Ok. We've had this household garbage service close to 21 yrs. Bill just went way up almost 200.00 for 3 mos. Past mo or 2 possibly longer have ran after 2 3 and 4 p.m used to run between 7 a.m to 9 a.m. just min ago wind blew over full can and I had to pick up all the trash. ie: busted garbage bags yard clippings and food all off ground. Now if they'd have ran earlier in day this wouldn't have happened. So we leaving republic over price increase and lower service. Don't expect much from em. I would not recommend Republic Services. The service pick up has recently been late on pick ups. They charge an additional fee if the container's contents are preventing the lid from closing. The customer service is difficult to contact. I had to wait 1 hour and 14 minutes to speak with an actual person. The app service chat ends up telling you to call. They do not prorate ending of services. So I contacted them before the renewal but because they are so inefficient in their customer service it was 4 days before I could reach a person to cancel my service. Now I have to pay another month and an additional fee for them to pick up their containers. I would not use them. read more

I worked there almost 31 years! My retirement gift was a $50 gift card! Monthly Service Charge went up almost 25% on Jan 1st. Since I'm on a fixed income and Republic would not adjust rate, I found comparable service for considerably less. When I cancelled on the 3/25/25 they assured me no additional charges. I specifically asked about removal of cart and they assured me balance was zero and there would be no charge for removal, April 1st they charged me for another quarter. Republic apparently bought out my waste connection contract several years ago. Since then they have slowly went up on the price and last week they sent me a letter saying it wasn't financially feasible to continue picking up my trash and they were just automatically switching me back over to waste connections. (Probably because everyone in the area dumped them when they continued to go up on the price). It's crazy because I've paid it and dealt with the fact whoever drives their truck constantly leaves trash laying around where they sling it out of the van and also digs small holes in my yard where their truck slams the van back down. The drivers are awful they just sling trash all over the yard and don't care to get out to pick it up. The auto arm trucks sling the trash cans around causing damage to the can. It has been reported they knowingly dispose of recyclable material in the landfill and lie to customers while charging extra for recycling. We have been customers for years on a discounted rate for our large neighborhood through our HOA. Rate increased by almost 30%- left 3 voicemails, sent 3 emails, and was on the phone for an hour last week trying to resolve. They refused to honor our rate. UPDATE 10/30: Republic is billing me an UNSPECIFIED AMOUNT to pick up their trash can. It may be $30. it could be more. They said they "don't know." I asked if I may drop off the can to avoid the pick-up charge and was told no because their office is closed to the public. 10/6/2020: Republic Services is dishonest and difficult. Over the past two years, Republic repeatedly and inexplicably increased their rates - charging more than their competitors who serve our neighbors. When we called to cancel our service on July 29th, Dana, the sales rep, assured us that she would lower our monthly payment to match or beat their competitors. BUT she said she could not tell us what the amount would be and that we would not see the adjustment until our next statement arrived. So, we could not confirm that they would meet/beat their competitors for another month. (Spoiler: Their cost was still higher.) We called to cancel again today (Oct. 6) and spoke with Kristen (a manager?). Kristen told us that they did lower their rate, but they don't include the additional fees when promising to meet/beat their competitors. In other words, they were dishonest. We told Kristen that we wanted to cancel our account today and that we did not wish to receive service or be charged for the 3 remaining UNUSED weeks this month. Kristen said their policy was to only cancel accounts at the end of the month AND that we must pay for the remaining 3 unused weeks (Oct. 13, 20, 27) because that is their policy!? Well they did not want me to do that so they ultimately did pick the cans and now they are billing me $54 just to pick-up the empty cans. When i first moved here I set up garbage and recycling services. They did not show up at all for recycling so I canceled that service. Now my garbage pickup day is Wednesdays and they never showed up this past time, so I called Thursday and was promised a pickup Friday...never showed up again. Called and was promised a pickup on Saturday AGAIN a no show. Sunday I asked my son to pull the garbage back so I could mow the lawn and he was stung on the neck by a wasp because they were all inside the bin. I almost had to take him to the ER because his throat was closing. Business was closed all weekend so called Monday. Requested a supervisor and of course no one was there and I was told I was supposed to have a pickup today. When I got home from work, guess what still there covered in wasps and flys. Yup the garbage and still no call from a supervisor. Called again and rep said they escalated my case. To where idk. They have my autopay so looks like they don't care. I just cancelled my service due to ever increasing prices and "surcharges". When on the phone with CS, they wanted to know why I was cancelling, so I politely told them that I found service at 1/3 the price. At the end of the conversation, I was told there would be a charge (just slightly less than the price per qtr of my new service) to pick up the can that belongs to them. Seriously?? Avoid this company AT ALL COSTS. Once you start doing business with them they will begin raising your rates with every subsequent bill and will continue to bill you even after you end service. They even try to charge you a fee for cancelling service. They way over charge and make it impossible to leave them. They tried to bill us almost $180 for 3 months of service. We left them and are paying $48 for the exact same service, but with much better customer service from a local company. This company is not local and they have no incentive to care about you or your community. Their customer service is useless and they do not care. Even their customer service managers are a joke. In their mind the customer is never right and they will argue with you and eventually hang up on you. They'll also put you on hold and keep you there for a very long time if they know you are calling in to complain. Checkout their Google reviews too. Rating is 1.6 on Google. That should tell you something. A business has to work pretty hard to get that low. Also make sure to check out their BBB rating and complaints. They've had 3,989 complaints in 3 years. We had Republic Services for our trash collection when we lived on Signal Mountain. We moved out of the house in September 2018 and I cancelled the service. I just noticed (March 2020) that we are still being billed on auto-pay through a credit card. Republic Services refuses to reimburse us for the payments that we made. The drivers speed down our residential street, my cans were never completely empty & they were usually half way in the street when I would get home. The container lids wouldn't even shut correctly from their trucks handling of them while emptying them. They also did not pick up the recycling container on the scheduled day when I left it by the street so they came onto my property when I was not home & removed it from an area not visible from the street.
