We cannot wait for our contract to be up with these people. Inconsistent, they never show up at the same time, employee turnover is high, the excuses are innumerable. They also lie. One week, they didn't take our trash, we called the DPW, which contracted Republic for town trash. The DPW called back to inform us that Republic said our bins weren't out by 7 am, which was a complete lie because my husband put the bins out when he left for work at 5:30 am. The final straw has been that there is a new imbecile answering phones at the DPW and her suggestion to us when Republic didn't fully empty our bin last week was to purchase town trash bags. This, in addition to Republic's never ending price increases and stipulations. They used to take overflow, no longer. They used to take large items, now it's call ahead. Now it's an additional $250 for an extra bin when they take recycling every other week. Ridiculous. I am a trustee at our small condo community and we have decided to go with another waste management company. First when called to cancel our service, the phone number is a call center so no direct line to a human handling the account. Once the message was directed to the account manager, Heather Bibbins in our area, she was non-communicative and because I only had a call center phone number, impossible to directly contact her. I finally got Heather's direct phone number which she neglected to answer calls. We needed our waste bins removed. After finally speaking to a supervisor that was all about customer satisfaction, I did get some results from Heather. However the bins were to be picked up on a Friday and here I am Tuesday late morning and they still are not picked up! I've been held hostage waiting as I need to direct the people from the former company where to place the NEW bins that were delivered on time from our new waste management company this paste Friday. The process was to work seamlessly, old bins picked up Friday morning, new bins delivered Friday afternoon. They are very inconsistent. Supposed to pick up trash almost a week ago. Have called every day since. They say every day they will pick up but they don't. We pay for a service they don't seem to get this. Will try Waste Management. By the way most negative responses(they are all negative) come with an automated response stating they are sorry and want to learn more and to email them. I emailed early last week never received a response. This company will go bankrupt everyone that has them in my town is switching. This will automatically renew for ***another 3 years*** unless you give them ***60 days*** written notice by certified mail return receipt, "actually received by company" I challenged them on this when I signed up with them (because I bought a property that was already using them) and they quickly backed off to just 1 year, but I thought it was pretty slimy to try for a 3 year auto-renewing contract that requires 60 days notice to cancel - and which you can't back out of without buying them out at a premium too, by the way!. That said, the dumpster service itself has been OK. However the previous owner warned me to watch the monthly bills carefully, saying they will regularly try to bump up their rates. read more

Since Allied trash turned into Republic, the service is awful. Many times the truck has missed pickups. Often 2 times in a month of missed pick ups. The company or dept. responsible for dispatch needs much improvement. Maybe hire new managers who actually do their jobs. Is this company too big to give good service? When you call, they say they are coming the next day or two and that never happens. What good is competitive pricing if you cannot get service. Long story short after 4 calls and three different stories I still have a 30 yarder in my driveway obstructing the progress of my project. This is unacceptable! Here we are again. Trying to get answers from this company is nearly impossible. I scheduled an early pick up for 1 day before my regularly scheduled pick up. Needles to say, that never happened. Now it's the day of my regular pick up and yet again, no pick up. The worse part is the no guarantee it will be picked up today (mind you. This is my regular pick up day now) at all. One thing is guaranteed! My payment for roughly 14 years. I'm doing my job. Can you do yours? If you can't, I'll have to find someone who will. Terrible experience with Republic and zero customer service. I'm going on week 3 of waiting for them to pick up my trash. I've made six calls to customer service and conversation with supervisors are completely a waste of time. Everyone promises to "escalate" the need for a response- all they escalate is my sense of frustration. I'm switching to a new trash hauler ASAP. Note- I have been a customer since 2012 and never had a problem until recently-- and I am completely shocked by their utter lack of care for customers. Keep clear of this disaster of a business. DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICE!!! The absolute worst customer service. We had them for 14 years, but became increasingly dissatisfied with their service, Their attitude on the phone was as if we were bothering them. If we had a complaint, they never took responsibility for it. We decided to cancel and go with another company. The new company charge 75% less for more frequent pickups, and they bring the containers to the curb from our garage, and returns them to the garage. Republic wouldn't let us out of contract until the last day of the month, AND they are going to charge us $30.00 to pick up their empty containers. We had 3 of them, and are told we will be billed $90.00 for them to pick up the empty trash containers. There was no appreciation for 14 years of business. DO NOT use them. You will pay $287 every 2 months for residential service, with recyclables picked up every 2 weeks and will eventually pay for the containers. Our New provider picks up trash and recyclables every week for $60.00! read more

RUN AWAY! Do not make my mistake by doing business with Republic Services! Talk about a dumpster fire of a business! Republic Services is without a doubt the worst company I've ever dealt with. I should have known this would have been a nightmare from the beginning when they refused to deliver a town recycling bin as is required by their contract with my town. In the almost three years we utilized their service we never had a correct bill and I always had to correct their math on what one week's missed recycling would be. Sometimes they wouldn't pick up for weeks. If you requested a response from them all you got was a generic auto send email from salesforce that doesn't even address you by name. I received many of these all the same week after week. In desperation, I turned to a Facebook chat get customer service because I had not had much luck with customer service the previous four times I called requesting a refund. On this special occasion, they came on Saturday, trespassed onto my property and emptied my bins (Note that at that point I had asked for a refund for the week rather than a pickup which is why the bins were not at the end of the driveway). Then threw the containers back into the middle of my driveway. Does not honour town or individual contracts and tries to charge for recycling when they cannot. Failed to give adequate notice of billing changes. My house is on the way to the dump and a republic services truck passes it every day. On several occasions, trash was removed from my bins and left on my yard by Republic services personnel. I called and chased for three weeks once notified of them leaving the area and they never came to pick up trash or their bin (8 calls, multiple emails, and Facebook chats across the month). At this point, if it's there when I get home it's going to become a compost bin. read more

I really wish I could give 0 stars also. We moved into a house that had previously used this company...I had to call because they missed the scheduled pick up day our first week there. When I called to question it the "customer service" rep (intentional quotes) told me to "relax, and let her handle this" verbatim. I then had to call again to find our when they would be picking up the bin. They said the account didn't close till the 31st. I reminded them that that was tomorrow and they said that the bin wouldn't be picked up till the week after and I said well that is why I am calling, and asked if the bin would be picked up on the normal trash day and to make sure it was out that day. I was told that was what she just stated, which was not. Horrible customer service and this was them potentially trying to win my business the first time I called...they had no idea then that I wasn't going to use them. Really can't think of a more rude, condescending or less helpful company that I have had to deal with. I honestly don't know why anyone used this company or how this branch is still operating. Absolute nightmare. My normal scheduled pick up is Thursday. Trash was never picked up, even though I made sure the trash was curbside (like I always do) the night before. Thursday came and went with no pick up. Thursday night I submitted a "missed pickup" request for the following day, Friday. Friday came and went with no trash pock up, meanwhile the trash is still in the same spot and only continues to grow. Friday night contacted company and assured the trash would be picked up on Monday (11/25/19). Well it never was picked up and another phone call to company did not do anything!! Assured that Tuesday the trash will be picked up. There is now almost 2 weeks of trash in a 65 gallon can with a family of 4, still sitting on curbside. I have had a few trash services in the past and by far this is one of the most poorly run companies I have ever come across. Going from a mom and pop company, I stupidly moved over to Republic based on the convenience of the many pay methods and price. Welp you get what you pay for. Not only is the service appalling (missed pick ups, trash left on my lawn, unknown holiday/weather delays), but the price does not include the MANY hidden fees and proved to be more than my previous service. On top of all of this, their customer service is a joke. EVERY person I have spoken to over the phone tells you something different and reads off a script. I almost feel bad for the customer reps on the phone because it is overwhelmingly obvious that they don't have any training and are only able to see what is on their computer screen. Calling will only make you more frustrated because the other person on the line seems to either not actually be able to take care of the grievance or is rude and does not want to. I cancelled my service in October and paid the current balance over the phone as well as provide them with my new address for the last $12 invoice. I was told that there would be a $12 removal fee for the bins that I would receive in the mail. It is now mid-January and I have since moved. I just received a Final Notice for a bill from November for another 3 months of service that I never used and that they were sending the bill to collections. How is this possible if I cancelled my account in October! I called today to be told that this current letter (dated 1/10) is incorrect and that the current charge was credited back to my account. I then found out from a 3rd customer service rep (kept being placed on hold and they hung up on me everytime) that my account was credited twice for $18 & another amount for $3, not the $92 they said I owed. I was then notified on the call that the removal fee was actually $18 and that they had no recollection or understanding of what the $12 was. When I explained that I am happy to pay $12 and not $18, I was sassily told that if I don't pay that amount today then I would be sent to collections. When I asked to receive a new invoice via email, they no longer had it because my account was closed. So how can you close an account and all the information in it, yet still continue to charge the account for additional services that were cancelled? Breaking up with Republic Services is just as bad and if not more infuriating than trying to cancel a gym membership. Even when you think you are all said and done, be prepared to get random invoices or charges well after you have cancelled your account. STAY FAR FAR AWAY! read more

Pick-up missed on Friday prior to the 4th weekend. Didn't come back Sat. Called Monday, on hold then told they would be there Wed 7-5. Pick up cancelled by Republic. Called again. No one knew why. Dumpster full, hot out becoming a real health hazard. Told it would be taken care of next day. Was cancelled again and re-routed by Republic.Was told every time that they would have someone call me. No one ever did. Called again. Told it would be taken care of on our regular day Friday 7-7. Meanwhile due to the hazard conditions and tenants upset another company was brought in with a new dumpster. Republic didn't show up until Sat afternoon. Called Monday to tell them to cancel contract and pick up dumpster because being a private complex we could not risk this happening again. Added to that the next invoice received there was a price increase of over $30 per month with no advance notice. Was told contract could not be cancelled because it didn't expire until 2019. Don't do business with these people, they're left hand doesn't know what they're right hand is doing!!!!! We get 1 bulk pickup per week for free. I called the week before asking for a pickup of a sofa, they said ok. I then called for another pickup for a chair along with mattress & box spring. She says well since it's more than 1 item we have to charge you $2.75 for the mattress & box spring I said OK no problem. They pick up the stuff and send me a bill for $225 for both pick ups. After I blew a cork I called and spoke to a girl who said "I'm sorry but it looks like you were billed in error, we'll have it taken care of within 24 hours". To keep this short it has now been nearly 4 weeks and I have not spoken to 6 different people who all said it should clear within 24 hours and yet it's still there. Then today I get a call from a Supervisor there telling me that she's sorry but there's been a big misunderstanding. She doesn't say I'm sorry, don't worry you don't have to pay it or anything close to that. I could have taken this stuff to my local landfill for $20. This an absolute disgrace and aggravation that I nor anyone should ever have to go through. I'm done with this company and have already contacted a new company to start service next week. I needed the dumpster pick up on 1/2/20. I was told by customer service that was no problem my sales manager would contact me in 48 hours. When I came back to work on 1/6/20 the dumpster was still here and I received a bill for Jan 2020 services, so I called customer service again. I was told that they see that I called and cancelled service on 12/6. They would AGAIN have my sales person "John" call me in 48 hours and he could also deal with the January bill. On 1/8/20 when I had not heard from my sales person I called Customer service again and this time asked to speak to a supervisor, there are NO SUPERVISORS Available. REALLY!! This time they "escalated" their request for my sales person "John" to call me back....OH THIS SHOULD HELP". Then I was asked if I sent my registered letter in yet.....ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!! I told the girl "Brittany" that this is the first I have heard of a registered letter needed. She actually said to me "well your sales person should have told you to send the letter". THIS IS A JOKE RIGHT, are there hidden cameras on me..... I asked were to send the letter and she said "your sales person will give you all that information". There was nothing else I could do but get off the phone because it is a call center and they have no phone numbers to a corporate office or supervisor so I guess I wait another 48 hours......
