If I could give Republic Services zero stars, I absolutely would. My trash pick up day is on Monday, and it's Wednesday evening and my trash is the only trash in the subdivision still sitting on the curb. I received a telephone call and I have called Republic three different times and sent two different emails about my trash pick up. I was promised yesterday that someone would be out yesterday to pick up the garbage. I called again today and London told me that someone would be out here by close of business today. It's nearly 530, I've tried calling the office again, and no one is picking up. It's going on day number four. I have paid my payments in advance, but my trash still isn't given priority. If I could give this company a negative 5-star rating, I would. Our recycling was not picked up 12/26/2022. We have submitted multiple email requests for a missed pick up and received no response. It is now 1/4/2023 and our recycling is still sitting at the curb waiting to be picked up. I called this morning and asked, when our recycling would be picked up? The customer service rep advised it would be picked up tomorrow per her request for pickup. I asked, would we receive a credit on our account for the late pickup and I was told, no. "If the recycling is picked up tomorrow, I will not receive a credit." It is 9 days past the pickup date. If you pay your bill late, Republic will attach a $5.00 late fee to your bill. This company failed to provide a service for 9 days, possibly longer if I did not call, and we receive no credit for services they failed to provide. I do not recommend this company to anyone seeking a waste management provider. Save your money and time, look elsewhere. This is not the first time this has happened with this company and unfortunately, I know it will not be the last. If anyone knows of another reputable company that offers trash and recycling collection, I will gladly welcome all suggestions. read more

Experience went from bad to worse -- Monday pick-up as promised by supervisor never happened. Called their "customer (dis)service" again and spoke to a lady with a crying baby who told me the special pick up had been canceled but she didn't know why it by who; asked to speak to a supervisor who told me it was canceled because it was a missed recycle pick up not garbage-- implying they pick up recycling when/if they want. Request to credit my bill accordingly was met with dead silence (a technique used by some of these folks). TLDR: Hidden fees, surcharges make the service expensive, poor billing practices, spotty customer service. Trust the negative reviews!! We'd had a great experience with Republic in another state, so we went out of our way to use them when we moved to Locust Grove, GA. BIG MISTAKE. They got our name and address completely wrong (completely invalid street number), so we never received a bill. Without notice, they just stopped picking up. No call, no email, nothing. When we called to find out where our bill was, we were treated like second class citizens. The rep emailed us a bill with the answer - a butchered name and an address that maps to a power pole down the street. Worse, the bill included a "bin drop off fee" of $50 and a late fee of $30. The fees seem like a ploy to lock you into their service - there was no mention of them when we signed up! Republic also adds a "Fuel Surcharge" and "Service Fee" to each bill (also not disclosed when we signed up). Thankfully, we can choose our provider out here. After talking to a few neighbors, I realized Republic was charging DOUBLE what other providers charge (as fuel / monthly service charges). When we called to cancel service, they tried to bill us for the next 3 months, and said we'd be charged a "bin pick up fee" of $30! The rep finally waived the pick up fee, but said we'd need to call again once a final bill generated to dispute the other charges. We cancelled 2 weeks before the end of our billing cycle and have documentation. Save yourself the headache and a ton of cash - if you have a choice, choose a local small business for waste service. read more

After almost two years of working with this company. I am now in search of a better trash service. There as been many upsets with in these pass two years. I recently recieved a bill that was almost twenty dollars more than the normal. I'd have no problem with an increase for superb service but i will not pay for when you feel like it service. Meaning they come when they want. I still have to pay even when they don't run. The last time my trash was serviced was April 25, 2019 and it's now May 6, 2019 and I have weekly service. I called about the increase and the late pick up on Thursday. I was told there was a 6 hour delay. Attached is a pic of my overload overflowed trash can. Also there is more in the house. After utilizing this home trash removal service for years I just canceled it because one of their disgruntled employees decided to put urine in my can. When they came on their regular pickup date they did not see more trash left in the can. I spoke to the supervisor and she said someone would be back out to pick up the rest of the trash. I guess that the employee was upset because he had to come back out and pick up the rest of the trash so he decided to leave a pool of urine in the bottom of my trash can. This was a despicable heinous act on his part & to me it represents the entire company so I am canceling service. Both my husband and I are disabled vets and to go get our trash can and to smell this rancid smell after just settling down and purchasing our forever home is unforgivable. Then they charged me for the next three months after cancellation stating a "computer error"!!! read more

The driver of the truck for our neighborhood has the nastiest disposition I've ever seen. He seems to think it's ok for him to be a bully due to the fact they have a contract with the city and there's no way to terminate services. He's snatched a trash bin from my youngest son, had words with my oldest son, which resulted in me paying even more money just to remove the trash through other means so as not to deal with him. I haven't used their services in two weeks. Well today he was taking pictures of my house. I called their corporate office and left a message, but I've spoken with his supervisor in the past so it's highly unlikely they will do anything and he gets to continue being horrific. read more

As soon as our year is up, we're switching trash companies. They send a text every Sunday night/Monday morning saying that the trash is running behind. Some days they forget us all together. They've left boxes & other trash behind many times. I have had service with Republic for 3 years now. Up until this past week I have not had an issue with them. Last week, they sent my neighbors and I a text message stating that they were understaffed and would not be able to pick up our garbage up until next week on our normal trash day. What that boils down to is two weeks of garbage overflowing at our homes. My trash bin is overflowing to the point that the stray dogs and most likely other animals as well, have started to pull the excess garbage down the street. It appears my neighbors are also having the same issues. I understand their understaffed, I called Republic yesterday to see if there is anything we can do to offset this issue. I inquired about an extra bin, I was informed that is an extra charge. I asked if I could use my own trashcan, I was informed that they cannot pick up trash that is not in their reciprocals. I asked are we going to be credited for services not rendered and of course, we're not. So basically I get to pay for services not rendered and their superior customer service feels it is my responsibility to be accommodating to them for their lack of staff. I don't mind being put out an extra week but atleast be a little more accommodating for our inconvenience. read more

We are supposed to have trash pickup on Wednesdays. Last Wednesday 12/29/21 they did not pick up. Right after Christmas of course is when most people have the most garbage of the year. We called and they assured us they would pick up on Friday 12/31/21. They did not. We called again and they assured us they would pick up on Monday 1/3/2022. They did not. We called again and they assured us they would pick up Tuesday. They did not. We just got a call telling us that they would not be picking up today Wednesday 1/5/2022. So it's been two weeks now. I called and spoke with Rhonda, who basically said 'too bad' there's nothing I can do. I'm amazed they have any customers left at all. We're going with Trash Away. I requested new waste containers because their trucks had torn the lids off from their containers at my home. I sent numerous emails, texts, and phone calls I've several months during the winter and early spring. I canceled my service in the spring. I received a final bill and paid it. I have now received a bill for $66.00 fee to removed their broken cans from my home. I received poor customer service and feel the fee is unreasonable. I have been contacting this company for over a week concerning my trash container. My old one was broken so I requested a new one, when it came they brought me the wrong size, I pay for a 90 gallon they dropped off a 45 gallon, now I'm having a horrible time trying to get this problem corrected. The CSR's lie, the manager was suppose to call, No call, their contacted company came out a second time to bring nothing. Trash pickup was messy. Left garbage on street, would not take certain household garbage, can thrown on sidewalk, missing pickups, and more. I cancelled the service after over 10 years with them. As they kept getting bigger, the service of picking up one bins a week was not easy for them...all while the price e kept going up. There are people who are almost a third cheaper. I had additional charges that took multiple calls and a month to clear. Getting the can picked up was a hassle too. Had to make multiple calls where they promised to pick up, but didn't. Then they charged a $30 pick up fee and a $10 fuel charge. I need them out of my hair so I paid it. Facts.....service stinks and is not guaranteed. Being new to the area I thought this would be a reputable company to pick up my trash, well, I guess I was wrong! From the very beginning I have had to call constantly then they tell me oh we can't turn around in your area yet there are three other trash companies that come and turn around just fine. Yet, when they do feel like the want to show up they take a break and sit in front of the house for a cigarette break. But let's get to the showing up... doesn't happen too often!! Then when you call it's immediate that they will elevate this to higher manager or supervisor and yet your trash still sits there. Since I have moved into my residence I have been picked up on time once and every week I have to call with excuses and still don't get picked up so then my trash is left sitting out all weekend until the next week and still nothing. What is the point of then taking your phone number ti never return a call or to try and shut you up apply a 6.00 credit to your account!!! I will not be renewing with this company, it is absolutely horrendous in all aspects of non responsive, not professional, not on time and poor quality. Whoever reads this, save yourself the headache of dealing with your trash never getting picked up go with someone else from the start. Awful awful service. I pay monthly to have my recycling and trash removed by the county. Trash and recycling are done by 2 different companies. Republic driver was so lazy that he didn't bother to get out of the truck to move the bin closer to the curb because a work van was parked near the bin. He just shook his head and drove past. If I had boxes broke down next to the bin he would've had to get out of the truck to retrieve them. Actually, I can't guarantee he would've gotten out to do that. I can verify that all of the below statements are accurate about their service. I have had them for a month and gotten 1 good pickup and it was delayed from the date they committed. All of the "missed pickups" were rescheduled for a later day in the week day and they also got missed. The one other time they came out, they half way emptied my trash.
