Free tours of this private company's recycling facility are available twice weekly. Simply call or email to sign up. Tour is about an hour in a temperature controlled environment. You'll have a view of the factory floor equipment and the workers working. A company employee will share the process with you, discuss the different equipment and how items get sorted. He has a large screen television that allows him to zoom into different cameras around the facility giving you a closeup of what's happening on the floor. Some of the surprising facts I learned here: (1) 30% of what is received here ends up in the landfill (2) This is a fortune 500 company. (3) They have contracts to do the recycling for over 20 cities in the DFW metroplex. (4) Nothing smaller than the palm of your hand can get recycled. In fact, those items often jam the machines. Leave on caps of plastic bottles and jugs. (5) Make sure items are Empty, Clean, and Dry. Food and liquid will spoil an entire batch of recycling and send it to the landfill, so do NOT put pizza boxes with food or oils, or bottles with liquid or food into your recycling bin. Put them in the trash. (6) No need to sort glass by color. All glass goes to one of their contracted partners for recycling. (7) Keep items loose and please separate attached items that are non recyclable. For instance, boxes covered in tape or cereal boxes with the plastic bag inside will go to the landfill. (8) Do not put these items in the recycling bin: mixed material items like toys and garden hoses. (9) Find alternative recycling companies for things like shredded paper, electronic waste, clothing, plastic grocery bags, etc. (10) This company only accepts plastic items with recycling numbers 1, 2, and 5. Worst company. Read their contract before signing anything. There are too many hidden traps. The contract for business service is usually 36 months and it renews automatically to another 36 months without notice or customer agreement. They kept raising the service fees without notice and customer agreement too. The absolute worst contract policy you can find out there. Waste Management is a much better company with better customer service. read more

I can't believe this company is even in business. Tomorrow will be a week now that I have ordered our dumpster. It is my understanding that you can only use them for dumpster services in Plano otherwise, I would have already had picked up from another vendor. I have called them over a dozen times and have talked to several supervisors who promised to call me back and to date no return call or delivery of a dumpster. And to top it off, they have already collected over $600 for their very poor service. Have never had this bad of service. read more

they skipped my house for trash pick up. called to have them come back and schedule a missed pick up at the fault of republic services and they told me to leave the trash out by the curb and leave any bulk up to 2 cubic yards beside the cans. the broken down boxes was the main reason I had an issue because we had just moved. they promised it would be picked up. i saw the truck come the next morning and only take the recycling can and they made a mess of all the bulk i had set beside the cans for them. Called again just to have another lady tell me that they wont do a bulk pick up for a missed pick up that was THIER FAULT. read more

Republic Services is not on top of their game at all. We ordered a dumpster for our job site and it never showed up. We call the Customer Service Department and they don't have an explanation. It took three more phone calls to get the dumpster out to us. Then, we order a second dumpster and ask them to have the deliver drive call our onsite team on direction as to where we want the dumpster placed. That never happen. My onsite team was under the impression that the dumpster was never delivered because they weren't contacted by the driver. I call customer service again and they tell me it was dropped off hours ago. Our job site is huge and I suppose Republic Services thought it proper to just leave the dumpster where ever they wanted. I normally don't do reviews but enough is enough with this company! It's the worst company ever and I'm not sure how they are still in business. The customer service is terrible, they don't listen to their customers issues, makes false promises. I requested a dumpster with a lock bar due to it going into a retail location. They failed to put a lock bar on it. When I called I was told it will be installed by 5'0-clock the next day. I called that morning and was assured it will be done by 5. I called at 4pm that day and was told it wasn't 5 yet and that it will be done within the hour. Well that didn't happen which was on a Friday. Well now Monday morning I now have a full dumpster that I haven't got to use. I called the customer service and now they tell it's my fault because I didn't inform them that I needed a lock bar. They said it will be a week before they can install one. Wow!!! They company don't even deserve a 1-star but apparently I can choose anything lower! STAY AWAY FRON THIS COMPANY!!! read more

Stay away from this company as they have very little leadership, no escalation process, and customer service is non-existent. The only part of the entire transaction that occurred as planned was billing. They did charge my credit card on the day I ordered the dumpster. Dumpster was not delivered on the day it was guaranteed (7 phone calls to customer service for updates, all promised it would be there before 5 pm), no phone calls explaining delay, and now same problem with trying to get the dumpster picked up. read more

We have scheduled pick up every other week and they miss our service at least every third time. When you report a missed pick up they do not come or they offer to come several days later. They never seem to miss the automatic withdrawal for my payment though. Worst service I have ever experienced. read more

I am writing this review in behalf of the company I work for, Excellence Auto Direct. First and foremost!!! They do not show up on the scheduled pick ups. We have to constantly make phone calls to reschedule. We are moving from our current location, as soon as we found out we would be moving we made a call to let them know this. We called early December and stated we wanted to terminate our contract the person we spoke to let us know that she would have someone give us a call within 24 hours. We never heard from anyone and they let our termination 'grace period' pass. My general manager spoke to an employee named Jennifer, he explained the situation to her. She said there was no record of a phone call in the system then proceeded to explain that there is two systems where they record notes and that she had access to both of the systems(???) and after 20 minutes of going through the "systems" found the calls we had made December but because our 'grace period' had passed there was nothing she could do! They don't do what is expected of them but they expect us to keep giving them our money!!! We are very frustrated at how unprofessional and rude everyone we spoke to about this situation was to us. Terrible service. We put items out on our scheduled pick-up dat and they never picked up. Called several times for a bulk pickup and they always said they would be there the next day; Never showed up. Called again and we were first told that the pickup was cancelled because of the items put out, and then the story changed and we were told that it was too late in the month, that they would have to pick it up the next month. However, they couldn't schedule the pickup because the next month's calendar hadn't been created. So we've had bulk-pickup on the curb since the 10th of the month (the scheduled pick-up date), and now it's the 21st and we have to move it into our garage to avoid a hassle with the HOA. If I had a choice I would go with another provider in a heartbeat. read more

If I could give them no stars I would. I have had a contract with Republic Services for about 6-8 months. Over that time I have had a billing issue every month that requires my time to call and plead with them to make a correction. Last month Republic Services decided to terminate our contract. When I got the bill for February, it had three errors. They now refuse to correct those errors. There is a $75 dollar relocation fee along with two $100 dry run fees that are erroneous. Use another trash service unless you want to be in the same boat as me! read more

Called 6 weeks ago for a 20 ft container for a week. They never delivered and when I call I'm on hold for 30 minutes and get no answer from anyone. I've also done the "press 1 and we will call you back in the order it was received" option and no one calls me back. Is this company even in business any more??? read more
