I went to this school for middle school and high school and i could have not asked for a better…read moreexperience. Because it is such a small student body the teacher, admin and student relationship is a very strong one. The teachers do their best to make sure the students learn the material and most importantly that they understand the material. The teachers are there not just for educational presupposes but they really do care about their student and want to see them succeed, they are willing to stay after class and talk to a student about anything they need help with whether that be a school thing or not, they are there to make sure that their students are in the right mind set to keep in the right track for them to succeed. Their building is not built to be a school but some how they have made accommodation and made some what functional for it to be a school. The first thing you see when you walk in is their classroom that is the heart of the school. To your left is the main office and to your right is the hallway into the school. The hallways are a little small for the size of their student body. The over view of the school is too small buildings with orange an blue floors. When you first walk in to the building it has a very unique smell because every classroom has their own smell. This is because almost every teacher has their own classroom. For example two tears ago a teacher there had a glade plug in that smelled like a man colon. Then the hallway started to smell like that and over time it started to clash with other scents which gives the whole school its own scent. My only complaint about this school is their lunch food. They don't make the lunch food there, they have someone cater. Something are really good, the flavors are amazing for example, they used to have a chicken tostada salad that was amazing. The tostada was nice and chunky, and the beans had just the right amount of salt and the chicken was well made. But then they have lunch like their spaghetti and meat sauce. That was one of the lunches I could not stand when i was at this school. The pasta and the meat sauce had no flavor to it. It tasted as if it had no salt or any kind of flavor in it. Other than just this complaint , they are a great school. If you are looking for a school that holds their students to a high standard and is going to help them have a bright future please check this school out they will not disappoint.

It was not very convenient to navigate the campus, specifically to get to the stadium. Unless we missed it, there is no parking lot close to the stadium itself. From the main parking lot I could see the light stanchions WAY off in the distance. At the time I was dealing with a foot injury, so not keen on walking too far to get to the entrance. I suggested to Dear Hubby that we drive the adjacent street to get as close to the game venue as possible. We were able to snag a spot on the side street. Much more convenient. Navigating around weeds, trash, and assorted other debris on the sidewalk, we made it to the entrance gate. My overall impression was that this school doesn't have a lot of spare funds for maintaining clean grounds / landscaping. I felt sad that the students are stuck with such a drab environment in which to spend much of their lives for four years. I can't speak to the actual quality of instruction and other services, but judging from the physical surroundings of the athletic stadium, it was not impressive. At other schools we visited during the season, they provided an announcer to highlight players' achievements during the course of the game. That didn't happen at Cleveland. They also didn't have a home cheer-leading squad for the junior varsity team. The Cleveland J.V. team on the field was very talented. As I recall, they wiped out our visiting team, handily. I also found it sad that they didn't get the support of the school from the spirit perspective, when the boys worked hard to do their part.

That made me realize how much teacher-led, paper-and-pen instruction helps students focus and learn. As a transfer student, my daughter was warmly supported by teachers, her advisor, and the staff. The community is small, caring, and dedicated. I also joined a Board of Directors meeting before enrolling and was impressed by the school's organization and forward-thinking leadership. VIPHS reports an 81% college-acceptance rate, compared with under 60% at many nearby public high schools. The average class size is about 20 with a 15:1 student-teacher ratio, versus 30-35 students and ratios in the high 20s elsewhere. VIPHS is a close-knit, welcoming community that genuinely cares for students and prioritizes personal attention and academic excellence. Plus, drop-off and pick-up are so easy, a small but real bonus for families!
