The first place I called said they were too busy. When I called, they answered the phone immediately. He was driving and we made arrangements for him to call me right back, which he did. They were able to help my family immediately, efficiently, and at what I feel was a fair cost. They made a terribly uncomfortable situation as comfortable as possible. Everything was handled very carefully, but we felt as though we were among friends. You did not have to be shy about expressing yourself and they were there to offer as many options and explanations as necessary. Truly, for one of the worst events to have ever happened in my life, I'm not sure they could have done anything differently than they did. Watch Out! Memorial Cemetery will attempt to get every dollar out of you they can possibly squeeze…read moreand say anything to get it. The first big shock was they wanted to charge $500 to drive my mother from their memorial offices a few hundred feet to her grave. When they agreed to lower the fee they said we could use the office van instead of the hearse. They finally decided on the hearse on the day of her funeral. The one request my mother had before she died, which we shared with Memorial Funeral Home, was to be buried under the shade of a tree. We asked to see plots near trees. Memorial guaranteed my mother would be buried under the tree we chose. Memorial said they could not guarantee what would happen to the grounds fifty years or more in the future, but that in the near future, my mother would have her tree. Horribly, one year later, the tree has been removed to make room for more graves. We would have chosen a different park if we knew of their plans. Extremely disappointing!
