Reserva Coffee Roasters is a great coffee shop serving coffees, specialty coffees, Chai, Macha, tea, and more. For food they have sandwiches, breakfasts such as Eggs Benedict, bagels, pastries, desserts (tiramisu!), to name a fee. This location faces Ware Rd. near the convention center, just north of Best Buy, and in between Ithaca and Kennedy Ave. This was my first time here and only wanted a coffee and a place to chat with a friend. I made a good choice. It was pleasant, peaceful, not crowded, and the coffee was very good. Of course, you choose which kind of roast you want, and there's a choice of syrups, various kinds of milk or cream, multiple choices for sweetener. Their cups are cute and have a plug if you need to travel with it. The decoration was industrial, modern, but cozy. Their people are friendly and accommodating, and their prices are competitive. I liked it much better than the popular competition with a siren logo. The tables and chairs are comfy. My only issue was the 90° backs on the wall bench... while it was padded, the bench is narrow and the back too straight up for my body. After a while I had to change to one of the chairs. Next time I need to go hungry so I can try their food.

I needed a coffee on a long drive from South Padre Island to Laredo, Tx & Reserva was right off the highway. Despite my previous suckish experiences, this time it was golden! It seemed that there was a new employee as she took my order and seemed a bit nervous. The nervousness did not outshine her good customer service! Also, my coffee was handed to me in a reusable cup with the nicest lid, something I have never seen at any other coffee shop before! This definitely made my experience better & had me talking about it to my friends. Additionally, I sat away from the bar waiting for my coffee & before I knew it, the coffee was brought to me despite it being a to go order. This is always a plus for me. The Iced Hazelnut Latte with Cold foam was delicious, I would definitely go back from a quick pick up! The inside is dim which isn't my favorite vibe for working or conversations, but I will say they have a lot of sitting if you are interested!

The inside of this place is super cute! The barista was very nice and the service was prompt. The avocado toast was SO good!! My coffee on the other hand was meh. It was way too sweet and just tasted like milk. I would definitely add an extra shot or something next time. Or get a different drink. All in all I enjoyed this place and would come back to try some other food!

MY. FAVORITE. COFFEE SHOP. IN THE VALLEY. When you step in the store, you can already tell that this is a calm and soothing coffee shop to study in, to lowkey hang out, to pretty much do anything. I first came when I visited my boyfriend in McAllen. I'm a fan of coffee shops and caffeine in general; so when I travel, I tend to look for coffee shops. I often look at cleanliness and vibes, and Reserva did not disappoint. The Barista immediately gave us the best recommendations and their seasonal favorites were top notch. The Rose Dark Chocolate Mocha, the Almendra, Lavender latte, all of them. My boyfriend and I got hooked so hard that we went almost every day before I left Texas. I need this coffee shop in my life. I need this coffee shop in Toronto, Pronto! Oh and their avocado toast with salmon on top? I pray they don't increase the price. If I lived in Texas, I'd buy it every day.

Although one of the lady's seemed kinda disconnected, it was a pretty cool coffee shop! I liked the different flavors of cheesecake. We ended up getting the cookies & cream and guava flavors. We each had some kind of hot coffee (I forgot the names), and I wanted to try their lemonade. Turns out there are even different flavors for the lemonade! I got the pineapple lemonade, and it did not disappoint. It's such a cute coffeeshop to chat with friends, go on a little date, or study. Oh! Also the latte art is so cute! Very nice :)

Do not come to this location. I normally loved coming to Reserva as they provide a certain quality of roasted beans for their coffee. Whether their baristas are untrained in this location or they fail to upkeep their product, I regret suggesting this location for their coffee. The taste was so acidic and bitter. I tried giving it another chance and paid for a second beverage, which was worse than the first one. Both drinks and money wasted. If you actually care how your espresso/coffee tastes, don't come here.

After failing to find a brunch spot this morning, the photos of avocado toast drew me to Reserva. I ordered said toast and the seasonal apple butter latte. I will likely crave this latte come next fall - I was skeptical but it tasted somewhere between an apple pie and a caramel apple lollipop. Well done. The avocado toast was fine. It got the job done. The egg was also well poached. Kudos on that. Especially in a coffee shop. I was impressed. And I'm grateful that as I had missed brunch hours, Reserva had Avo toast on tap. I will say I didn't love having an extra plain toast. I used it to sop up extra yolk but i dunno just felt a little incomplete. The sourdough was definitely among the more sour sourdoughs I've had as of late which is lovely but it overpowered the mild avocado and egg and while I loved the Chile oil it still didn't really balance it out. Ambiance is current and hip! Very Clean. On a Sunday afternoon it was full but not packed. I will say while aesthetically I liked the decor it was a little dark and I didn't feel like lingering. Staff was professional and prompt, but no one seemed particularly happy. So it missed that X factor of hospitality. One of the staff was more attentive and assuring that folks had been served or were aware of the status of their orders. Overall, I would return when In McAllen and especially try out the pastries (Guava Cheesecake sounds amazing.)

The service was friendly and great insight on favorite drinks. We ordered the smoke salmon avocado toast. LIKE its was heavenly and salmon blended well with the avocado smooth savory and smokey. The coffee was good too. YUM The ambiance was modern and light music. Coming from a big city to a small town this is the coffee place to Visit while in the Valley. YUM!

Definitely my go to healthy breakfast spot in the Valley! The azucar moreno has become my absolute favorite hot drink paired up with their avocado toast. I ask for a poached egg on top of the toast and it's always done just as a poached egg should be. The extra drizzle of their oil with sesame seeds add the extra needed to take this over the top. Quick service and attentive staff!

Reserva is a great coffee shop, with multiple locations sprinkled around McAllen. You can always come here to grab a quality coffee drink, relax with friends, and even study at a table. The atmosphere is beautiful, clean, and calming. I'm happy to say that they are also well staffed. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the cashier, baristas, and kitchen staff. They work well together, and I received my drinks very quickly. This is a place where you want to become a regular.

This place is awesome! We've been here several times, and usually stop on our way out of town. Best specialty coffee I've had in McAllen by far. And they have top notch customer service! The Almendra is my husband's favorite. He likes the white chocolate version. I've tried several of the drinks, and they've all been amazing! The sweetness is perfect for my liking. My new favorite is the dark chocolate coconut mint latte- so good! read more

The best coffee shop I have had in the Rio Grande Valley. I tried their coffee for their first time with my girlfriend from Toronto. And she said it was comparable to those in her area. We had the rose white chocolate latte, which is a seasonal item, but it is one of the best drinks on their list. The price are comparable to other coffee shops like Starbucks and the I spent countless times studying at Reserva. It is a great atmosphere if you're looking to study and have delicious snacks to fuel your brain. Highly recommend! read more

I travel a lot and order Coffee from all over. I must say we have a gem here in Mcallen. The coffee is always great the teas are exceptional. Small place but you can see the love the have for what they do. The price is nice for what you get. I drive from the other side of town and pass two Starbucks and a Moonbeans to come here. One last thing EVERYONE-MUST HAVE THE BERRY EMPINADA with a latte they are very good. read more

Love this place! Coffee lemonade is my absolute favorite caffeine drink now, thanks to this place. They also have a selection of pastries and food. Their smoked salmon avocado toast is delicious, probably my favorite of their food choices. The bacon/Gouda sandwich is also tasty. The atmosphere is great with lots of natural light - definitely a place you'd want to come to read a book or meet a friend. Fantastic local coffee shop in the Valley! read more

Desserts are the best thing about this place. Honestly, top rate baked goods hidden gem. If they have cheesecake, get it. You'll love it. Coffee quality/flavor is average for a non-corporate coffee shop. They have some wacky, creative drinks (most of which I haven't tried, or don't feel bold enough to try). Atmosphere is relatively cozy with plenty of outlets if you're planning on studying. Chairs aren't the comfiest though and I wouldn't want to stay here an entire evening. Prices are a bit high, but relatively standard. This was never my first choice to get coffee because it was so far out of the way (Ware and the Expressway). I just moved houses and this place is just down the street from me now. It's already my go-to shop now and I'm not disappointed. read more

One of the nicer local coffee shops in McAllen to grab a coffee and get some work done. Reserva offers a diverse menu with coffees from all over. The aesthetic is modern and hip but lacks a little in space and comfort. Depending on when you're there, seating can be limited, especially when solo patrons are occupying four tops. The metal chairs look nice but aren't comfortable. Other than those two minor things, Reserva is worth checking out. It's on the other end of town for me but will stop by again when I'm in the area. read more

Good coffee but a little pricey. I appreciate how nice they have tried to make it, definitely more upscale than other coffee shops in town. Ware road location has super uncomfortable seating and not the best place to sit and study or meet, but the North 10th spot is great for that. read more

I am a coffee addict & love trying new coffee shops , this place has been my personal favorite. Not only is the coffee great but the environment too. It's such a cute shop on the inside too ! The location of this place is great, it's near a plaza and a body of water where one can walk around and enjoy being outdoors. Definitely recommend this place if coffee and coffee shops are your thing. My personal favorite is the Iced Wildflower Honey. I only ordered a medium matcha latte but it was delicious. The price was good for the size. It was $7 for a medium but it was closer to a Starbucks venti size. I needed to get some work done and was able to on a Friday afternoon. Closer to 4pm. But it's not a large place so I imagine it might be hard to find a spot during the day or morning. Super friendly staff! Espresso was good but there was some ground in the coffee which means they aren't cleaning it properly or they are grinding too fine. It happens but it's something I wasn't expecting. A little bummed about that. Nice place to study and hang out though. read more

Manager says "You need to put your mask on" as she rushes out of her glass office. Gives me her back and returns to her office. OK, I wear my mask but I usually read the room first. No one in the restaurant except for the workers Are wearing a mask, no one. Some tactfulness would have gone a long way here. Allow me to provide one idea. "Welcome! Would you please be so kind as to wear your mask sir when ordering? After that you're welcome to takeoff your mask at the table, how may I help you?" It doesn't have to be that exact phrase but some predetermined expression would avoid any off-the-cuff comments by staff stressed about their job or whatever happened to her. Her two employees seem likable enough. However, after that comment I quickly turned away and walked away. Left to go to a different coffee shop. The best response we can give a rude establishment. No negative words. Just leave no money there and walk away. read more

Very disrespectful, manager was horrible to the new employees, literally made me super uncomfortable. Coffee was disgusting I asked for a refund and the manager was very bitter about it, probably it comes out of her paycheck all the refunds. She hung up on me and when I called back to ask why, she lied and said the thought the conversation was over. Nobody deserves to be treated the way the manager has treated the customers and employees. Utterly disgusting that this establishment hasn't changed. read more

I've been eyeing this place out for awhile while visiting husband at the border. I read the reviews and was well prepared for the day date with hubby. We were not impressed with the overpriced coffee drinks and bakery items. My husband did enjoy his bacon, egg, and cheese biscuit but that was about it. read more

2 stars for good coffee and food items. Customer service needs some serious work though. Ordered their most basic avocado toast which was on their menu as $5.95. When they rung me up I saw the charge was $8.50 and asked if it was a mistake. They snootily replied that they've raised their prices and wouldn't honor the price literally printed on their menu. I get that in today's economy businesses need to raise prices but at least take the time to update your menus and honor them. read more

This is a nice place to relax after a group event or if you're in the mood for some quiet time. The ambient is tranquil and provides just the right mood to lift your spirits. The staff aren't too friendly but will suggest a goodie to go with your coffee, should you ask. They have a nice assortment of pastry, cookies, and breads to choose from which all looked delicious. I hope you can stop, relax, and experience the charm. read more

The coffee is very good, but also a little expensive. I do enjoy that they serve in ceramic cups. They have a few pastries and ciabatta sandwiches. The little sandwiches are tasty, but pretty high priced when compared to other options in town. Again, I wish they had lactose free milk for people like me who are lactose intolerant. The almond milk just doesn't taste right in the coffee. Also they have a significant upcharge for using an alternative milk, which I don't understand because they get it at Costco and it is not expensive at all. Overall very good, but I really don't plan on going out of my way to come here just to get a plain coffee since I can't enjoy any of the drinks with milk. read more

I was so excited to try out this place!! I mean the pics on insta don't do this place justice! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. This coffee place is the cutest! I got to try the cañelita latte and the strawberry shortcake! If your more on the sweeter side on coffees, I would recommend that one and strawberry shortcake is something I absolutely loved!! read more

I had a an espresso, a cortado, and a pour over (washed Ethiopia Yirgacheffe). The espresso is too roasty/developed for my taste (it's not a light or light medium like you might expect at most serious specialty coffee shops) and tasted over extracted as well. Not the kind of shot where you savor the lingering finish. The pour over was decent and had the floral/crisp fruit notes you'd expect in a Yirgacheffe. The barista did not seem very knowledgeable about coffee and wasn't very receptive to my questions. Still far from rude but not memorable service. The S/M/L sizes make the place seem like its competing with Starbucks rather than being a specialty coffee shop. Overall this place is a-ok, not great but ok. read more

The place advertises that it specializes in home cooked comfort foods so we figured we'd have to see how their biscuits and gravy were. We ordered a 1/2 order and it came with a biscuit split in half and covered with gravy and sausage. The flavor was perfect - it definitely lived up to 'home cooked comfort food'. I ordered an omelette - three cheeses, sausage, bacon and ham with onions, cilantro and jalapeños - which came with refried (black) beans. The omelette was very good - flavorful and fresh. They actually use slices of cheese inside and on top - I've never had an omelette prepared that way but it was very good. When I first tasted the salsa I was not a fan - it was warm and had a different flavor - then I put it on the omelette and - great pairing and great flavor combo. The refried black beans were sadly underwhelming - no real flavor. I know they were homemade but they were missing the flavor that usually comes with refried beans (black or pinto) My wife had the quiche which had onions, peppers, sausage, mushrooms and cheese. It was very good. Even the crust was good. She ordered the breakfast potatoes as the side. The flavor of the potatoes was excellent. Half of them were lightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside which were great; the other half were overcooked and became potato chips - good flavor but not a breakfast potato. We will definitely come back to try their lunch food and dessert (we were too full today). They have a good variety of breakfast, lunch and dinner items on the menu so there is something for everyone. We were glad we stopped in.

This place is extremely expensive for a coffee, and the coffee tastes like spoiled milk. I was super exited to try this place because I try to taste all of the coffee shops, however I was quickly disappointed. I tried their signature coffee, a refresher, a matcha latte, and a regular iced latte, but no they all tastes horrible. Worse coffee I've tried. To begin with, the signature coffee tasted like spoiled milk and had no coffee whatsoever. For the iced latte, same thing. The matcha did was flavorless, when I asked them to remake it they had a pretty bad attitude. For the refresher, it tasted like Minute Maid lemonade right off the container. What surprised me the most was the prices, and the customer service. They were all so rude and did not bother to check the coffees. DO NOT COME HERE. Cultura or any other place is better!!!! read more
