This was my favorite place I have lived so far in Phoenix. I lived there for 3 years and I'd still be living there if I hadn't had to (out of necessity) move to CA temporarily, which is very unfortunate indeed. Pros: -I lived in 3112. It's a 1 bedroom and the layout is very open and spacious and even has a kitchen island. I'm not sure if all units have the big bathtubs, but mine did and I thought it was awesome. You don't see those in apartments very often. -As with most of Phoenix, the surrounding neighborhood is pretty hit or miss. Don't be deterred by the gas station across the street or the unsavory complex next door, this complex is a safe and quiet place to live. -The complex is very quiet, or at least over by my building it was. My unit was also on a corner so I had no neighbors on one side. The only time there was ever noise was Saturday nights. Building 7 is next to a residential street and my balcony overlooked the backyards of people who would have loud parties on the weekends. But hey, it was Saturday night so most of the time I was either not home or also partying so this didn't bother me at all. -The grounds are very well-maintained. Walking down the main driveway is very nice. It looks like a little village. The gym is small and could use a little more equipment but it definitely gets the job done. Cons: -There is no grace period for rent. If you happen to forget to pay on the first, you are charged a $50 late fee (that's just for one day late) and your ability to pay online is revoked so you have to go and get a cashier's check, which of course takes time and costs even more money. I think this is a Greystar policy, as every other complex I have lived usually has a 1-3 day grace period. I ended up in this situation only once while living here, and it was especially crappy because at the time I worked 10 hour shifts 7:30 am-6 pm) for State Farm Thursday through Saturday as well as Monday. I had to get out of work early on a Thursday in order to go to the bank because otherwise I would have had to wait until Tuesday, my day off, to pay what would have surely been a ridiculous fee by then. Shit happens sometimes and people should be allowed at least a one day grace period. -The pool is visually appealing and nice but it's honestly not very relaxing. There are only lounge chairs on one side of the pool and it's the side by the walkway to get to the gym, package room, and front office. This area is heavily trafficked by both residents and front office employees who walk by constantly, rattling keys, struggling with the pool gate and talking on the phone. You can also hear people trying to get in the front gate, which entails the machine calling the resident and you overhearing their whole conversation, buttons being pushed, and people getting frustrated when they can't get in. It made me a little anxious. I know there is no room for them, but chairs on the other side of the pool away from the hustle and bustle would be nice. Also note the pool is not a place to party, it's definitely more for families who will take up the all of the chairs and occupy the pool stairs (which are only on one side) so if you are not in their party, you will be left to perch alone by the deep end, feet dangling into the water until you finally decide to leave. -The corner units don't have sliding doors or screens, so forget about enjoying the weather in the winter months unless you want your pet to escape or bugs in your apartment from opening the balcony doors. Minor cons aside, this is a great place to live and I would definitely consider living at this complex again once I relocate back to Phoenix...provided I can afford it since prices seem to keep going endlessly up. read more

I Moved into the Residences at 4225 in mid December of 2023 as an HCV client for the city of Phoenix. And to be honest Up until recently I had no issues really, until we got new "management". (the third transition since I have been there) So one day in late August, early September of 2025, I called and asked if they could clean the carpets because they were really dirty when I moved in there were clear dirt marks upon moving in but I didn't complain even though it really upset my allergies etc, and they said no they don't, but I can pay to get them cleaned myself. The carpets were soooo bad when my mom came to visit she said she would even call and ask if they would clean them...I said to her, no thank you. Anyway fast forward, I was in the process of a move out because my lease was up and not only did they try to give me an ILLEGAL eviction/5 day notice, the office (Madeline Thombs) was caught doing clearly Illegal housing law violations. The reason I am even writing to you is because you need to know about management at 4225. I was specifically told by their manager Madeline Thombs not to go to court the day of because it was cancelled, and she said she cancelled it ( I'm like how do YOU cancel court the day of? u aren't the court system or a judge??) and BOB, if I hadn't gone anyway to COVER MYSELF, I would currently have an eviction on my record with this predatory ass company & complex of yours and and be out of thousands of dollars and have my credit go down etc. Greystar was in violation for even trying to fine me in late fees etc, The "case" was thrown out by the judge and dismissed. Not only did they try to charge me over $800 in fees for court etc and they tried to keep my $350.00 full deposit and return only $76.00 of it. Blaming me for your dirty carpets when I moved in. Not only did I feel discriminated against, by Madeline and Audrey but they were going out of their way to make sure I paid something to the residences at 4225 upon my exit and be predatory purposely because I won court. Anytime I had to go in the office to speak to "management" there was a constant attitude upon my in-person communication with Audrey AND mainly Madeline Thombs. The time had FINALLY come for me to move and I thoroughly cleaned out the apartment and left nothing dirty, or not on its original condition upon my arrival and I took pictures AND video for proof..... Unfortunately, I was charged a re-painting fee of $120, a heavy cleaning required fee of $165, a required carpet cleaning fee of $60.00 and a smell treatment fee of $75.00 there were none. After these applied fees, I was sent an email stating my return amount is $76.00. Thankfully I have moved on to bigger and better but if you can, please don't rent with Greystar OR the Residences at 4225, the managers are terrible. As a longer term resident, I recently completed a transfer to an upgraded/larger unit. After initially agreeing to giving the maintenance team more time to paint the unit as I was told was needed, I moved in on February 28th. When I entered the unit, the dishwasher was not functional. I also attempted to wash a load of laundry and the washer had the water turned off. The bedroom door had a dent, and the patio door was missing 3 blinds. I stopped at the office to turn in the keys to the old unit upon move out and notified of the issues present and needing maintenance. Maintenance came out two days later turned on the washer water and determined I would need a new dishwasher. I was told it should be ready by Monday, two days ago. Nothing. Also patio blinds still not fixed. After paying a $500 transfer fee the new unit should be ready to go with no issues. Epic fail. read more

There has been a severe lack of communication between the office, the vendors and myself and I STILL have no update on when this will be fixed. 82° is unbearably hot inside during the summer, not to mention the increase in the electricity bill due to having multiple fans running to try and keep the apt cool. I have had to miss out on work due to being given the run around on when someone will be entering my apartment, yet I'm still being charged full rent. They will raise your rent significantly after a 1 year lease with fun free benefits like: - Non-gated community 50% of the time (the gates are often broken). - Broken Package Lockers. - Filthy hallways that were designed to never be cleaned. There is no way to wash them. They should follow the trails of leaky garbage bags from the dumpster back to the units they originated from and fine the nasty tenants. - Neighbors with shitty living room furniture on their patios and balconies for the whole community to see. Nice -- I'm glad you didn't part with that destroyed recliner and decided to keep it for all of use to admire. - Animals who don't realize they SHARE the pool. I had to skim it for 10 minutes so I could use it on Saturday the 2nd. Beer cans, popped water balloons, general garbage and pieces of hard plastic on the pool floor. Today they sent out an email saying it was TRASHED on the 4th. Didn't think it could get much worse than what I saw before the holiday! - Weird people who sit in their cars for hours in the parking lot. If they aren't waiting to follow the Amazon and package delivery guys when they actually go to doors (re: broken package lockers), there is no other reason to be sitting in a car on a 100+ degree day for hours. The floor plans are spacious, but everything else is gross and sketchy. If you're paying more than $1,300 for a 1 bedroom here (which will be $1,500 at lease renewal), you're an idiot. It looks NICER than Ocotillo Village next door, but once you live here for a month, you'll think it's the same property. Doesn't feel like a Greystar property -- only the rental increases are on-brand. If I can give zero stars I would !! This place is so overpriced for no reason my apartment was about 2000 a month for a two bedroom. It was insane. How many things went wrong the first two months my bathroom flooding from horrible plumbing (I was at work and came back to a flooded restroom) , my kitchen flooding from the dishwasher not working , roof leaking . My ac stopped working the first week there and the maintenance guy tried to blame it on me until he saw the thermometer malfunctioning and didn't even apologize he just continued to "teach" me how to use a AC. My toilet wasn't working the last three months I lived there I kept telling the maintenance that it was the plumbing not the toilet itself and they continued saying that they'll come and fix it and never did. There was so many homeless people crossing through the apartment. On top of everything they also added someone random on my lease, I didn't even know who they were and they said it was a mistake, but they probably wouldn't have caught it if didn't say anything. I would never recommend this place I'm not the type to right a review but I wanted to let everyone know it's not what it looks like from the outside! read more

Upon visiting the complex, I was extremely excited to go home and fill out the paperwork necessary to move in. I had everything ready. I knew my move in date, I knew the move in amount, we had gone over all those additional fees that somehow always pop up on the bill. Everything was set. I had filled out the application and all the other paperwork necessary to move in and that's when things started to go wrong.... Turns out the move in date provided was incorrect. Now normally this wouldn't be such an issue, except I had already reached out to my current apartment complex to extend my lease for a few weeks to meet the move in date. This mess up will end up costing me almost a full months rent (about $1400.00). Needless to say I was not happy about the switch up. I had read a lot of the previous reviews about the complex and was a bit concerned about all the reviews people posted about the management company contently having "issues." I honestly thought it was just people who didn't due their own diligence in reviewing the rules. However, after this went down I am now inclined to believe the reviews. I decided not to proceed with renting an apartment from this complex and requested a refund of the security deposit as well as the application fee as I would not have applied for the apartment if I had know the actual move in date. I am grateful to say that they did agree to refund the full amount. The issue is that it took them a MONTH to send it back and I had to keep calling and following up with them about it. I can not say this was a pleasant experience and can not honestly recommend this complex. But this was just my experience. Yours may be different. read more

I asked for some time because I'm currently going through financial hardship. She was unwilling to help by giving me 30 days, I just her I was gioing to contact the media to let everyone know how we are treated here, she said it was ok. Thus far, my experience with 4225 has been nothing but good. I've been fortunate and haven't had any noise issues with my neighbors or issues with my unit. Consider it luck I guess. One thing that sucks is that for deliveries, you need to pay another company to have your stuff stored in the lockers near the mail room. The bright side of all this is that it's a one time fee. The downside is, on principle, I think it's wrong to make people pay for their packages as an apartment business. The amenities are okay. The pool area is functional but nothing to brag about. The gym has what you need to get a workout in. The dog park is a nice luxury but as with all community amenities, can be a little rough looking. The neighboring community can be loud at times with domestic disputes...not uncommon to see cops over there. Bottom line, for what you pay for...I think its a good trade. read more

I moved here from California and picked this apartment from the Internet. I moved here without ever looking at the actual apartments. I was super nervous but I was so happy when I arrived and saw the complex and my actual apartment. Normally, when you see apartments online they're the really nice model and then your apartment is nothing like the model. I was pleasantly surprised that my apartment actually looked very similar to the pictures online. The complex is nice with plenty of parking, a very nice pool/bbq area, and an awesome dog park. The office staff and maintenance crew are very friendly and super helpful. I am beyond happy with the choice I made with moving here. We are planning to stay here for as along as we are renting in Arizona. We have been here for 6 months and I will follow up whenever we move out with a full detailed report of the entire experience, but so far so good. read more

Residences at 4225 is choosing not to take responsibility for the $1300 worth of damage that stemmed from the infantile tree that fell on my 3month old Jeep Patriot has nothing to do with them and I should look into my insurance regarding "natural causes". Neglecting to take ownership or to pay any mind to the fact that several trees in the community had post on them. Additionally, they are choosing to not take responsibility for the $200 scratch their ill crafted dumpster gate left on my 4month old Jeep Patriot, due to the fact that the gate swings inches inches into the parking spot of Apt. 1043. I only know it was ill crafted because the placed some scrap on metal on the gate tho help with the extra swing it was giving. Horrible. Because the handle still sticks OUT. The issue has not been fixed to this day. I visited in the office to follow up, and as hard as Amanda was "fighting for me" she still failed to even follow up. We moved 2 months later. Do NOT lease Apartment 1043. Or at a Greystar Property for that matter. Got our move out bill.... lots of bullshit charges. I very much enjoy the property. It's an awesome area. Very close to the freeway, close to downtown, old town and Arcadia. There's a Target, Costco, Frys and Ross nearby. I moved in here in Jan of this year and really like it. The grounds are kept very nicely. My area is nice and clean and so is the entire property and there's a very nice dog park that is kept clean! I love it here bc everyone is nice and the office is very helpful. Whenever I put in for a maintenance problem, it's fixed quickly!! Parking is great. The pool looks nice, I just haven't been. i've been waiting a while to make this review. moved out november 9th of this complex. wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. someone is always yelling. i seen 3 car accidents happen while being here in the complex. a family member was in a hit and run in the complex. our first day of move in our apartment flooded and it was never inspected safely. we never had ac filters when we moved in. we were told we'd be reimbursed for what happen with the flooding and never received anything. it's not worth it too live here at all. hopefully grey star makes something right with a reimbursement from the flooding. also be prepared for homeless people to use the outlets in the hall way LMAO. read more

Update: we just got a bill for over 100 dollars after they took out 350 dollar security deposit and they are charging us for normal wear and tear! The most nit picky company charging for EVERY little thing. Even though we cleaned the bathrooms and everything they are charging us for cleaning! Absolutely ridiculous! My sister and I lived here for a year and never had a problem with the staff or our apartment. When we needed maintenance it was responded to quickly and the leasing office staff was always helpful. We moved because there is no option for a shorter lease term than 12 months and we are looking to purchase a house, and the area is seedy. There are always police around and there was a gang shooting across the street and a stabbing about a half a mile away. Also on the left of the complex is a residential street and there is a house that has a full on mariachi band with amplifiers and microphone that you can hear until all hours of the night on Sundays over your own television. If they were located in a better area and offered the option of a short term lease we would have stayed until we bought a house read more

They do not control their tenants. People are blasting music at all hours of the day and night and they do nothing about it. Then when you move out, complete a walk through and they tell you everything is good, they will charge you later and then send you to collections. After the nightmare that was my last apartment, I waited awhile before reviewing this one. I just signed my second year long lease with them so I figure it's a good time to actually write a review. The apartments here are nice and don't have the cheap feel a lot of places do. The carpet is pretty good and is nice enough to actually lay/sit on without feeling like you're at an elementary school or office building. The "wood" flooring is also pretty decent, it's the Pergo style of wood/laminate flooring (I have no idea what the stuff is called) but it looks nice and is easy to clean and that's all I care about. The floor plans are spacious and laid out well so you're not stuck with too many oddly shaped rooms or unusable space. There is a good amount of storage and the bathrooms have a lot of room as well as several drawers and cabinets. It's very easy to store your belongings here without having to compromise for space. The exterior is well kept, you'll often see people going around to pick up trash and clean the walkways and the boulevard has an almost movie-esque quality to it. Everyone who has come to my place has commented about how much they like the layout of the complex. It's very pet friendly as well, you see a lot of dogs and cats and it's nice to see a community where it's common to see people walking their pets up the boulevard. It's also a good sign, in my opinion, when you see people who have furniture and what not on their bottom floor patios. I've seen some places where if you left anything out it would be stolen before you turned around but here it's common to see decorations, patio furniture and even camping equipment sitting out without worry. The office staff is always helpful and friendly and I've never had any issues in dealing with them or maintenance and my hope is to stay here for years to come. The only negatives in my opinion are the walls are a bit thin and there's a bit of a shortage on open parking but both are minor nuisances. read more

When I first moved to Arizona this was a great place to live and the staff was nice. Overtime, however, that changed drastically. The security gate broke multiple times while I resided there, residents wouldn't pick up their dog poop, and the office staff changed (for the worst, except for Milosch). One other thing that contributed to my poor experience was the screening company (First Advantage) they used for background check. When I applied the company claimed I had no credit and denied my application. After talking to them, it turns out they just didn't have my social security number so they corrected my application. Months after when I tried adding my boyfriend to the lease they denied his application because of his credit score. We requested the credit report from First Advantage twice, they never sent it nor told us what his credit score was. The apartment's screening process needs to be revamped cuz clearly, like other reviews have said, there have been criminal activities and denying those with "poor credit score" doesn't make the community safe. read more

Lived here for 5 months now and have had NO problems here. The staff is super friendly and I feel like they'd readily solve any problems I may possibly have in the future. Even before I moved here, they were very helpful! My neighbors are pretty nice as well. The people above me are kinda loud but that's kinda how it is anywhere you go. Haven't had any problems with any of my neighbors, but I could just be lucky, haha! Any little issues I had with my apartment have all been solved within 72 hours. Love this place so much!! They have cute little community events like pool parties and they leave you cute little notes and stuff during holidays. It is run by a family and it definitely feels like it. :) I'm late-night swimmer and the pool is open 24 hours, so if I feel like going for a late night dip I have it available to me!! Haven't had any issues with parking. I don't even need to use my reserved one! Just very satisfied in general. I really like how my apartment looks. The kitchen is adorable. Current resident here You know those pastil key cards that cost $2 to make?? Yeah, they only give you one, and if you lose it they charge you $51 for it. Also, you know those gate openers that cost $4 to make? Yeah, another $50 if you lose it. The trend here is they offer you affordable rent, but chop you at the knees with hidden costs. Those are just two examples that come to mind! I recommend you sign with a place that isn't trying to turn a profit with key card and remote replacements. Also, the lady who informed me of this couldn't offer an explanation other than repeating "yeah we charge $51". Greystar property management, you are better than this. Change your policy. read more

I've lived here from March 2016 to present, and I've had an overall great experience renting here. I live in an "Updated" apartment with stainless steel appliances and dark espresso cabinets. My apartment has a cozy, at home feel. And as a bonus, I can see both Camelback Mountain and Papago Mountain from my balcony. The leasing staff is friendly. The maintenance is quick to respond to online work orders--typically 0 to 2 days. I rarely hear my neighbors. The landscape is constantly maintained. The complex is very pet-friendly. I feel secure in the complex as it is fully gated. The location is amazing. I'm a short drive to downtown Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Tempe. I could go on... :-) read more

We don't if someone comming in at night is bringing drugs, if they are criminals, or rapist, some i supppse are good people. Moved out of here in August of this year (2017). Had no issues with maintenance they may have taken a day or two but they fixed what needed to be. Office staff was not the greatest but they were always there when I needed to pick up packages etc. My neighbors were not noisy although the walls are kind of thin so keep that in mind. Overall a great location with all the amenities, washer, dryer, pool, fitness center, covered parking etc. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to live near tempe, scottsdale and phoenix! read more

I just moved here from out of state and absolutely love living here. The maintenance people are amazing. They're very respectful very kind and very quick on their service. The apartment is close to everything so I'm really getting to know the city very easily. The apartments are so spacious and I love my closet. I never have any issues with storing anything I actually have extra room for things which is nice.To top it all off the office manager Amanda is by far the most "on top of it" manager I have ever encountered. Unless you want your property stolen don't bother. Security is a joke they only come when you call them and then when they do it's like a 300 pound lady in her 60s who's never even been to the property before. Anyone and everyone can get in if they want. My boyfriends motorcycle was stolen right out of our parking sport and guess what? "The cameras don't work well at night and they're not for residence use anyways" why do you have them you ask? "To make sure people don't tamper with the gate" oh you mean the gates that people just wait outside of to get in anyways? The people in the office are always rude, the only one who isn't is Milos. They leave notes, emails,texts for the stupidest things. This place is a joke and way over priced. I mean it's next to section 8 and a trailer park. I've witnessed people hop the fence pick up some drugs and hop right back over. I've seen homeless people garbage pick. Not worth it, you can go up the street two blocks and not live in the slums. I love this place so much. This place is the most peaceful wonderful apartment I have every lived at. The leasing staff actually cares about you as a person and wants to make sure you are comfortable and happy within the community. I wish circumstances were different and I didn't have to move because I would probably be at this apartment for a very long time. I initially didn't have any issue living here but that soon faded.. The complex use to have a real community feel- monthly newsletters, community events, decorating contests, raffles. But that stopped which coincidentally was around the same time a lot of staff left- hmm. The apartments themselves look nice but it's very superficial as they are poorly made. The walls are thin so if you have a neighbor that speaks in anything above an indoor voice, you'll be privy to that conversation and good luck if there's a new born baby around- guess who else will be up for those 2 am feedings! Good luck too you also if you live on the bottom floor and your upstairs neighbor's spirit animal is an elephant because you'll hear every step they make as well get the rumblings of the pipes whenever they use the bathroom. And by the way if you decide you want to transfer units because of any noise issues, you'll be given a nice hefty transfer fee to pay. There was a period when every time it rained, the gates stopped working and would be broken for days before they got fixed. They didn't do much good though given the number of occasions people from the back neighborhood jumped them and broke into cars. If you have an issue with anything, don't waste your time with management as they only care about the things that directly impact their being able to make money off the property (such as people not cleaning up their dog poop- you'll be sure to get a letter about that) If you do decide to live here, pray you get put in a "good" part of the complex otherwise you'll be subject to loud music, residents fighting on their balcony, and a contact high from the lovely smell of marijuana outside. Basically if you're a real adult with a professional job, keep looking- you can find better. read more

This place is nothing short of amazing!!! The staff are extremely helpful for any need and make it their personal mission to assist in any situation. We haven't made any complaints at all with the exception of one electric socket that was out. The maintenance staff are quick to respond, provide timely updates, and are friendly. The apartments also host events once per month for the residents. Just, amazing. Move in already, what are you waiting for?! read more

Terrible! Terrible! Terrible service! We just finished our lease and wanna take a look at 4225, I found it online and it looks pretty nice from the photos...However..I forgot that photos can lie! Today we drove 30 mins here at 5:30pm, 30 mins before its closed. We walked into the office and there was only one guy sitting there and playing his cellphone. We talked a few mins and I believe he's the worst guy I've ever met in any leasing office anywhere. It seems he couldn't care less about your business...After asking me some rude questions he show me around but I was totally not in mood after our conversation. When I'm in the sample room, he was standing there and playing cellphone, without any introduction...When I tried to ask him some questions about the community such as the parking spot, gym, etc, he gave me extremely brief answer no more than 1 word, like: Yep. No....I ended up telling him: you are so unprofessional, I can't believe you worked here for 3 years... And also, I believe that bad service must be a nightmare to the current residents living there!!! read more
